  1. Actually global weather is changing not just local, which recent reports of record low temperatures are you referring to? If you come up with those links do you think it could be as a result of warming temperatures disrupting the polar vortex?
  2. A collection of Trump's mugs................ More to come, including the big man
  3. Great news, one more wanted war criminal meets his fate and according to some reports it was due to Russian air defense missiles. A post by Grey Zone, a Wagner-connected social media channel, claimed Russian anti-aircraft defences had shot down the plane. It said that residents heard “two bursts of characteristic air defence fire” before the crash. “This is confirmed by inversion traces in the sky in one of the videos,” it added. Mash, a news outlet on social media app Telegram, said locals had heard two loud bangs before the crash. https://www.ft.com/content/812c9da3-80f2-4fe1-8fad-0b4441d1977a https://archive.ph/31e8g
  4. Also from the above: Carleton was holding a phone when she was shot and never exited her store, according to the acquaintance.
  5. When was his last vacation at Delaware? When he was asked the question about the Hawaii fires while he was riding his bike to his house from the beach at Delaware, that was on the Sunday, he was back at the Whitehouse the following day on Monday. So a weekend away is a vacation?
  6. No its doesn't work for everyone, Africa is huge and millions live off live grid in rural areas, solar is the way. Solar power is the only answer to light up rural Africa
  7. This is about long term planning, from your first link where you had the heading, "Unfortunately your energy bills will be unaffordable." It also states this: Is Renewable Energy Cheaper in the Long-run? New research shows that, in the long-run, renewable energy is more cost effective than non-renewable energy. Company Lazard considered costs over the lifespan of energy projects and found wind and utility-scale solar can be the least expensive energy generating sources. As of 2017, the cost (before tax credits that would further drop the costs) of wind power was $30-60 per megawatt-hour (a measure of energy). Large-scale solar costs are $43-53/MWh. For comparison: energy from the most efficient type of natural gas plants costs $42-78/MWh. Coal power costs at least $60/MWh. Its already in motion anyway. South Africa's agreed plan: Reducing greenhouse gas emissions is in line with the government’s goal to transition South Africa toward a low-carbon, resilient economy and society by 2050, as outlined in the Just Transition Framework for South Africa, championed by the Presidential Climate Change Commission (PCC) and endorsed by the cabinet in August 2022. In addition, according to the IRP 2019, by 2030, South Africa plans to retire 12 GW of coal plants and add 18 GW of new wind and solar PV to meet energy needs. While the framework is relevant across all of South Africa’s policy development, it should play a critical role in guiding the implementation of the historic Just Energy Transition Partnership (JET-P) that was announced at COP26 in November 2021, in which five developed countries (France, Germany, the U.K., the U.S. and the E.U.) agreed to channel $8.5 billon to support a just and equitable transition in South Africa.
  8. Really? Are you a grower yourself? He is:
  9. Naa, she was not a legend or icon to me, maybe to her friends though
  10. May be it happens that's why I said they would deserve real sympathy.
  11. Read the article, I watched about 2 mins the video, that was enough for me, not the type of humour I like and no I didn't know about her, never heard of her before, what's that got to do with my post you just responded to.
  12. Where do you think developing countries get their funds from? The World Bank. Factsheet: Eskom Just Energy Transition Project in South Africa The Eskom Just Energy Transition Project (EJETP) is a $497 million project approved by the World Bank Group in November 2022 at the request of the Government of South Africa. It will support its public energy utility, Eskom, to decommission the 56-year-old Komati coal-fired power plant, repurpose the project area with renewable energy and batteries, and create opportunities for workers and communities. If successful, the project could provide a blueprint for a just energy transition in South Africa and beyond. And also those countries that stop providing for coal plants they instead provide for renewables. "By bringing together richer donor countries with poorer nations that receive international financial support, the COP26 deal aims to build a consensus among nations to stop backing polluting projects and instead support clean energy both to curb emissions and to avoid building stranded assets."
  13. For those unknown to us and who didn't affect our lives I agree entirely. Its just plain respect. This seems a bit odd. an 80 year old who died of malnutrition had no family support or community concern. I would say they deserve real sympathy and disgust along with RIP
  14. I never asked you to but I certainly feel for his/her friends and family as I would for any 35 year old who died, its far too young.
  15. Wow the hate spews out, surely a RIP is in order along with best wishes to her family and friends who will miss her.
  16. No its not that. For instance South Africa relies on coal fired plants heavily, however most are old and not functioning well. Even now there is not enough to keep the lights on. Replacing them with renewable solutions require less than 2-year build time (coal requires 10-12 years).
  17. The impact of climate change on grape yields: Evidence from Australia You don't think it affects all grapes in just about every country whether its for wine or the table? In some area's it will have a positive effect in others it can lead far lower yields
  18. If you say so, the professionals base it on more than one or two time periods
  19. Indeed a huge impact on wine in Cal Climate Change Forces California Winemakers to Reconsider What Grapes Grow Where How rising temperatures are altering Napa's wine-growing season winemakers from Bordeaux to California are struggling
  20. Not quite: Reversals are based on overall price direction and are not typically based on one or two periods/bars on a chart.
  21. Back on topic: This chart provides estimates on current policies to reduce, or at least slow down growth, in CO2 and other greenhouse gas emissions will have some impact on reducing future warming. https://ourworldindata.org/co2-and-greenhouse-gas-emissions
  22. Off topic nonsense again. But happy to hear your speechless, perhaps less now of the waffle you sprout every time your asked for a link to back up your beliefs
  23. Your claim: You can't remember me asking numerous times? You can't recall me beating you over the head about not answering? You think I'm going to believe that you can't remember me asking? So you didn't ask me directly numerous times, as I thought. Now back to the topic at hand which is something you'd rather avoid I know. Guess what I'm waiting from and have asked you directly for? If you want to debate, link to credible peer reviewed studies from climate scientists that have sources attached and I'll be more than happy to do so. Still waiting for some credible peer reviewed scientific studies if you want to debate. And all you have is belief and prayer since you have no credible sources that you've posted, at least not yet, still waiting.
  24. That was a quote from NASA what do you find so amusing about it? It’s important to remember that scientists always focus on the evidence, not on opinions. https://climate.nasa.gov/scientific-consensus/
