Climate change: July set to be world's warmest month on record
Bkk Brian replied to Social Media's topic in The Green Forum
You've downloaded and read the full reports? No didn't think so. Let me make it a little easier for you The authors show that peak CO2 levels over the last 2.1 million years averaged only 280 parts per million; but today, CO2 is at 385 parts per million, or 38% higher. https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2009/06/090618143950.htm -

True threats constitute a category of speech — like obscenity, child pornography, fighting words, and the advocacy of imminent lawless action — that is not protected by the First Amendment and can be prosecuted under state and federal criminal laws. https://www.mtsu.edu/first-amendment/article/1025/true-threats -

Robertson’s posts indicated he did appear to own a long-range sniper rifle and numerous other weapons, as well as camouflage gear known as a “ghillie suit,” investigators said in court records. Oh yea, he was well stocked on the rifle front: https://nypost.com/2023/08/09/who-was-craig-roberston-utah-man-shot-dead-in-fbi-raid/ -

Yet current CO2 levels are the highest in 2 million years. In addition the solar activity is not responsible for these recent changes. Also from NASA "the warming we’ve seen in recent decades is too rapid to be linked to changes in Earth’s orbit and too large to be caused by solar activity." https://climate.nasa.gov/faq/14/is-the-sun-causing-global-warming/ -

Alaska floods become latest climate symbol in disaster-filled summer Images of homes and trees collapsing into raging waters in Alaska have become the latest stunning symbols of climate change in a summer of wild weather — this time caused by melting glaciers. Juneau this week saw flooding that destroyed some houses and caused others to be condemned, while other items such as trees and oil tanks were carried away. The event was caused by water from Mendenhall Glacier pooling in its Suicide Basin. When the basin fills, it funnels water to Mendenhall Lake, which then ends up in the Mendenhall River. https://thehill.com/policy/energy-environment/4144564-alaska-floods-climate-disaster-filled-summer/ -

Its not about strength, its about their intensity in staying longer and causing more damage along with the rising sea levels. we know that hurricanes are more likely than not slowing down in response to climate change. There's a sort of reduction the speed at which hurricanes move along the surface of the earth. What that means is because they are moving more slowly, they can sit in certain places for longer periods of time. Also, we are increasing the sea levels around us. https://wusfnews.wusf.usf.edu/environment/2022-10-19/florida-climate-scientist-hurricanes-intensifying-becoming-more-frequent Climate Influences on Hurricanes Climate change is worsening hurricane impacts in the United States by increasing the intensity and decreasing the speed at which they travel. https://www.c2es.org/content/hurricanes-and-climate-change/

An off topic triple posting of FOX.......lol Anything to deflect the Trump indictments. Fox News Loses Its Damn Mind Over Trump Jan. 6 Indictment: ‘Germ Warfare!’ “This is political germ warfare. These are political war crimes. It's an atrocity. It's, like, not just dropping one atomic bomb, you drop 15 dozen!” At the same time, Watters also claimed that the GOP’s investigation into the Biden family business dealings was more “titillating” since it involves “sex and cash bribes,” seemingly forgetting that Trump has also been indicted for a hush-money scheme to silence a pornstar about an extramarital affair. https://www.thedailybeast.com/fox-news-loses-its-goddamn-mind-over-trump-indictment-political-germ-warfare

I think it's more a testament to the fact that not only are a lot of views that some try to play off as "right-wing talking points" or "conspiracy theories", actually very much commonly held opinions Yet a quarter of republicans do believe in far out conspiracy theories: "Satan-worshipping pedophiles running a global sex-trafficking operation control the U.S. government, media and financial institutions. A storm is coming to sweep away the elites and restore the rightful leader of the country. And things are so off track, true American patriots may have to resort to violence in order to save the country." "a quarter of Republicans agree with those sentiments, according to a PRRI report released Thursday that was based on data from four separate polls it conducted." https://www.usnews.com/news/politics/articles/2022-02-24/a-quarter-of-republicans-believe-central-views-of-qanon-conspiracy-movement

Trump charged with four counts over 2020 election
Bkk Brian replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Well it was Trump's defense that put the focus on his right to free speech and started it all. Show's just how out of touch they really are. Indictment of Donald Trump is a 'terribly tragic day' and shows speech is now 'criminalized': Trump Attorney Lauro said the indictment of his client is "unprecedented" and argued it doesn’t just affect the former president but "every American who now realizes that the First Amendment is under assault." "It's under attack by the Biden administration. We now have a political incumbent who is attacking Americans for their beliefs, attacking Americans for their speech and attacking Americans for their politics. This has never happened in the history of our country, and it's playing out right now," he continued. https://www.foxnews.com/media/indictment-of-donald-trump-terribly-tragic-day-shows-speech-now-criminalized-attorney -
Assault on Kiev: Russian helicopters swoop above Ukraine's capital

The UK Storm Shadow's being put to good use: Ukraine strikes key Crimea bridges with Storm Shadow missiles Storm Shadow missiles struck key bridges linking Crimea with occupied Ukraine, as Kyiv and Moscow traded long-range attacks. Sergei Aksyonov, the Russian-installed head of Crimea, said the British-supplied cruise missiles damaged the Chongar bridge, which spans a short stretch of water separating the peninsula from the Kherson region. “The enemy launched a missile attack near the Chongar bridge,” Mr Aksyonov said. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2023/08/06/ukraine-strikes-crimea-storm-shadow-missiles/ https://archive.ph/uZmw5 -

What makes you think I need to provide you with an explanation to the answer I provided and there for everyone to see? Just because you didn't make a comparison, I did, it was a response to your post whether you like it or not. The notion that Ukraine targeted civilian target without the necessary context which I brought in is pathetic, it brings notions of targeting residential buildings, hospitals, blood transfusion centers, murdering civilians, men women and children. These are all well documented to have happened by the Russians. Ukraine on this occasion has targeted Russian ministry office buildings where no civilians were killed. Those are the facts. -
