  5. 6. PCR test positive cases, total of 11,646 official new infections, with 120 of those from prison and 11,526 from the community. 107 official covid deaths recorded. 7. another crystal ball been taken off the shelf and dusted off. A bit like Anutin saying things will be better next year. Enough of the noise, get those vaccinations administered as promised, open up internally to your own population, then open to international tourism. There will be spikes in cases to come that is for sure, just look at other countries when the schools have opened up. However as in other countries that needs to be managed without knee jerk reactions. So long as hospital levels are not burdened and able to cope with normal admissions for all patients then that’s the important factor in the new normal. Of course a good testing regime is also a must for this to be sustainable, they need to do some serious work on that.
  8. I hope AstraZeneca reminded them that the administration of its shots are supposed to be with a full dose delivered into the muscle (Intramuscular) and not the 20% under the skin method (subdermal) now being used in Phuket for its booster shots.
  9. Thailand’s “official positivity” rate as of today https://media.thaigov.go.th/uploads/public_img/source/290964.pdf
  10. 60,000 Moderna doses headed for Chiang Mai Chiang Mai will soon take delivery of 60,000 doses of the Modern vaccine that it had ordered for residents in the high-risk group, as well as those who did not have access to free jabs provided by the government. The provincial administrative organisation said the vaccines had been bought for 69.6 million baht at 1,160 baht per dose. The jabs will be distributed once the project gets the green light from the Chiang Mai Communicable Disease Committee and the provincial governor. https://www.nationthailand.com/in-focus/40006805
  11. Just had an email update from my daughters school (international in Phuket) Permission has been granted to open the school fully to all students, no sandbox measures in place, just one negative rapid test every 2 weeks. Vaccinations for students put on hold due to the vaccines not arriving yet. From Oct 4th
  12. That’s what they say among other reasons Thailand and Montenegro will be added to the red list from 4am on Monday 30 August 2021, reflecting the increased case rates in these countries and the higher risk that travel from these countries poses to UK public health. The high rates combined with lower levels of published genomic surveillance in Thailand and Montenegro than other countries mean that an outbreak of a new variant or existing variants of concern (VOC) or variants under investigation (VUI) cannot be easily identified before it is imported and seeded across the UK. https://www.gov.uk/government/news/international-travel-update-new-destinations-added-to-government-travel-lists
  13. Forget it, you’ve got @buick making a case for comparing the UK from last Jan 2020, over 19 months ago and then @Kadilo attempting to make a case based on weekly trend, ie a week ago and both of them arguing against you for both being right……….let them argue amongst themselves. Thailand’s own CCSA however knows full well this is the third wave and why their stats are from the 1st April 2021. Excess deaths for Thailand are far above the UK’s for this wave.
  14. Particularly those who are not even in Thailand yet still believe it’s doing better than the UK
  15. This is what happens when you don't order enough vaccines from your own country's company in the first place. Thailand buying 614k Doses of Same Covid-19 Made in Pathum Thani The cabinet on Teusday approved the purchase of the same vaccine made in the Bangkok metropolitan from Europe, as Siam Bioscience Co. - the local AstraZeneca manufacturer - can't supply enough doses fast enough Government spokesman Thanakorn Wangboonongchana said the cabinet assigned the Department of Disease Control to order the amount of the vaccine in addition to the 449,500 doses the cabinet had resolved on Sept 14 to procure from Spain. The total procurement from Spean rose to 614,500 doses. Thanakorn said Spain would deliver both lots within early Oct and the procurement resulted from Thailand's negotiations to buy covid vaccines from countries in the European Union. https://bangkokherald.com/thailand/thailand-buying-614k-doses-of-same-covid-19-made-in-pathum-thani/
  16. Exactly, if the poster is using the UK in comparison to Thailand in weekly trends then look at how the UK is actually living with the virus, everything open, life back to as near normal as possible. It’s excellent free testing regime that identifies as many cases as possible. One of the worlds best vaccination programmes. Thailand, still struggling with dates for reopening provinces, in sandbox style environments that have not worked for the majority of local residents in Phuket, where food handouts are still occurring almost daily. A very slow start to its vaccination programme that is finally picking up speed but too late for the majority of those who have suffered as a result.
  17. Per capita Phuket also has far more cases daily than Bangkok, so if allowing it in Phuket why not everywhere?
  18. Rapid tests positive cases, 5,100 bringing the unofficial total to 15,514 https://ddc.moph.go.th/covid19-dashboard/ PCR test positive cases, total of 10,414 official new infections, with just 178 of those from prison and 10,236 from the community. 122 official covid deaths recorded. Rolling 7 day average (up to 27th Sept) which includes prison cases and bar chart of community cases from daily official announcements. https://ourworldindata.org/coronavirus/country/thailand
  19. If you decide to come with unvaccinated kids then even if you're vaccinated you'll have to quarantine for 10 days............. The Thai Embassy in Sydney has just posted this graphic announcing that the quarantine period for fully vaccinated people has been reduced from 14 to 7 days. Note that unvaccinated children and their vaccinated parents will have to do ten days #Thailand https://twitter.com/RichardBarrow/status/1442858779545006083
  20. You've obviously not been to one of the tourist areas lately, head to Phuket, Kata, Karon, Surin where you will see plenty of shuttered restaurants and shops. Pass by the long queues for food handouts today
