  1. The only reason it will get this bad is if there are large sections of the public that remain unvaccinated. Vaccines are the answer, no matter what all the loonies keep telling you
  2. Mix and match will give wider protection especially with boosters. Any mRNA vax after 2x AZ seems best choice
  3. Test and go is nowhere near the risk that sandbox is, sandbox customers can be unvaccinated. If airlines only let on those fully vaccinated, any chance of transmission will be as low as it can get without stopping all international travel.
  4. Wow. You just won’t let go of that bone will you? Those 90,000 have all had at least 2 doses of quality vax and most have probably had a booster as well, the risk associated with that is much smaller than your constant diatribe would have us believe.
  5. If you already booked test and go, then you stay on that scheme but have to do 2nd PCR test at govt location somewhere
  6. So, some clarification, those already on test and go can stay on test and go if you already have thai pass. Others have to come via sandbox scheme
  7. Not sure, one reporter saying 2nd PCR test compulsory now at govt expense but how that works is uncertain @SaksithCNA/Twitter saying govt spokesperson contradicts Prayuth speech
  8. Booked with Thai so would need to make sure we can get back on our booked flight, not just get in
  9. Will wait until more news comes out, pretty confusing at the moment. Some saying those already in test and go are ok, and some saying *all* arrivals must do 7-day sandbox quarantine
  10. Thailand’s prime minister has ordered the immediate suspension of new registrations for “Test and Go” which allowed tourists to arrive without having to do quarantine. However, people who have already applied will still be allowed to come. More details expected soon. Richard Barrow on Twitter
  11. Would love to know how many cases are from those on direct flights from Europe and how many come from those mixing in tbe middle east?
  12. A large percentage of Omicron cases seem to be from returning Thais, who could have had who knows what cocktail of sinovac or AZ vaccinations.
  13. No doubt we will get the news on Xmas day. A nice present from Anutin to all would be travellers. I shall prepare myself for the worst now. Maybe in another 7 weeks the panic will be over
  14. Meant to fly NYE. Have been putting it off all year, and just as we book, Omicron raises its head. Never seem to catch a break.
  15. I know, in which case we will defer everything once again. The next 10 days will be interesting. UK is in a proper mess now thanks to dithering govt
  16. Wife took the plunge and booked us to arrive New Years Day, wants to see her family, it's been 2 years since our last visit. A couple of friends also on same flight. Lots of UK thais desperate to see family again, so hope this window of opportunity remains. Still feel a bit ripped off with the one night stay, but don't want to wait forever. Doubt we will be adding very much to the economy as have no intention of visiting any tourist areas this time, so no beach holidays, suspect most returning Thais will be the same.
  17. Just looking myself. The Allianz insurance from misterprakan looks cheapest, covers asymptomatic charges at hospital. My usual insurance should cover everything else. The insuarnce for Thai pass need not be all encompassing, you can have two policies running at same time for different things
  18. Yes if Omicron is in Thailand it will very quickly replace delta as most common variant, and yes, going from reports serious illness is rare but, if it gets to a lot of people and it will, a small percentage of a lot of people getting seriously is still a huge problem for healthcare and hospital staff. As far as is being reported, only 3 shots of vax like Pfizer will stop it, it will blow through the chinavax like a a fart through wet tissue paper, so an awful lot of people in Thailand are vulnerable
