  5. They said no real firearms were found, BB guns are toys! "Their search unearthed 16 rounds of 9mm ammunition and two BB guns, one short-barrelled and the other long. Importantly, no real firearms were located."

  8. Yes, in some countries they will have a plea bargain, so if you know you did it and you are going to be found guilty anyway, confess and give up any information. In Georgia, plea bargaining is a recognized legal mechanism, often used to expedite cases and reduce sentences in exchange for cooperation or a guilty plea. Retired Georgian police general Jemal Janashia, a professor at Georgian Technical University, explicitly suggested that a plea bargain could be an option for Culley, stating, “A plea bargain should be reached, her profile does not strike me as one of a drug trafficker, she might be a user but I suppose we will find out soon enough.” He noted that her lack of a prior trafficking history could support a plea deal, as the court would assess her criminal profile

  16. Yes quite an horrific attack, how the two Pakistani thugs can deny this is not only amazing, but delusional! The jury have seen this and now cannot unsee it, the only 'defense' would be it was self defense which it clearly was not. The two thugs were 'under arrest' at this point, so the self defense excuse cannot hold up!

  20. Bilton being out on bail is still in question? A recent report from Thai Examiner (July 6, 2025, 02:21 ) states Bilton “had been out on bail since police raided the venue in April 2023” but was “immediately returned to custody to serve his sentence” after his July 4, 2025, conviction. This suggests pre-trial bail, not post-conviction release. Thai Legal Context: Under the Criminal Procedure Code (Sections 108–114), post-conviction bail is rare for serious crimes like human trafficking (up to life under the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act 2008), especially for foreigners. Pre-trial bail (e.g., 2023) is more common, but after a 21-year sentence, courts typically revoke it unless an appeal is filed and granted—none is documented as of July 7, 2025. If Bilton were on bail post-conviction , Thai authorities would hold his passport as a condition. Reclaiming it typically requires court approval and a bond (a cash deposit, often 50,000–500,000 baht, ~£1,135–£11,350, depending on the case), refundable if he complies. Fleeing would forfeit the bond, but this process assumes legal release, not escape. UK Embassy Role: Even with a bond, the UK Embassy wouldn’t issue an emergency travel document if he’s a fugitive . His passport, if returned, would still be subject to Thai and UK alerts via Interpol if he absconds.
  21. The British Embassy in Bangkok or a consulate (e.g., in Phnom Penh if he fled to Cambodia) can issue an Emergency Travel Document (ETD) for lost, stolen, or damaged passports, costing £120 and taking two days with an appointment. Applicants need proof of British citizenship (e.g., other ID) and a valid travel reason. However, the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) guidelines state ETDs are denied if the applicant is a fugitive, under criminal investigation, or subject to an Interpol Red Notice. The embassy checks records with UK and host country authorities before issuance.
  22. Correct, they have to by law!
