Thailand Opens to All Visitors, Recommends Health Insurance
mikeymike100 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Right! I was kind of half joking, but makes sense since the Chinese love gambling! Which begs the question why do so many go to Thailand, where gambling is 'illegal" -
Whilst i agree that people have personal responsibility, there are a number of reasons why some did not get vaccinated, some medical, some personal? But changing the rules, giving 2 days notice, that could potentially affect many potential tourists is dumb. The fact that the vaccination must be be taken 14 days before traveling, but have no expiry date, is also questionable, seeing as the vaccines could only last 6 months and some may have had them 2 years ago? https://www.healthline.com/health/how-long-does-covid-vaccine-protect-you

So to not discriminate against the Chinese, all foreigners must show proof to the check in staff, wherever they are coming from, that they have at least 2 vaccinations on the approved list? This goes into affect on Jan 9th, this year? So any foreigners, not vaccinated and have already booked a non refundable ticket to Thailand in January, are in trouble apparently? All the other countries have decided only people coming from China need to show proof of vaccination. Now these folks will not have booked yet, as the in country ban has only been lifted very recently, so they can sort their vaccinations out first? Looks like Thailand bowing to their masters again? They don't care about tourists only Chinese tourists? I'm shocked!

The problem is all Immigration Offices are not the same, sound like yours is OK and follow some rules? But we know from countless reports on AN that some IO's seemingly have different ways of doing things and even the actual officers in some of the IO's have there own idea how to do things, so there is no consistency? Now if you live close to the Office its usually no problem if you need to get something that is asked for and you need to go home to get it, but some folks live hours away and then it is a problem? Agents , the good ones, usually know what exactly is required and they check you paperwork etc, then if there is some anomaly they can sort it out? You say its a lot of money, but to some its not, some folks fly business or first class for better service, cos they can afford it? At the end of the day its a personal choice and it takes out the guesswork?

Avatar passes Maverick at the box office !
mikeymike100 replied to Social Media's topic in Entertainment
Top Gun Maverick was a superb movie, as a sequel it surpassed the original I think. Amazing cinematography and all the scenes were 'real' no green scene stuff whatsoever! Surprised that Avatar 2 passed Top Gun 2? -

Thailand’s Medical Tourism Likely To Soar In 2023
mikeymike100 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Well with the expected influx of Chinese we have all been hearing about and the expected rise in Covid infections, they could be right? But once again instead of mentioning the level of service, potential patients could expect, they seem only interested in money? "the medical tourism sector too has started to bounce back and is expected to generate 25 billion baht revenue in the new year, INN News said this morning (Jan. 5)." -
