  1. You are correct! It seems Pattaya has started early this year with reports of water 'throwing' having already started? Pattaya has its main Songkran day on the 19th, usually the following day is dry?
  2. Yes, they change things for no apparent reason? The 90 reports online work , but I understand if its the first one after say leaving Thailand and re entering, you need to do it in person? But the 90 day reports are generally pretty fast!
  3. So 4 or 5 cops 'interrogate' a woman for showing her boobs? This has got to be the most ridiculous police force in the world?????
  4. Yes there are always some folks that can't wait, but it has been a long time?
  5. It’s official, Pattaya’s Songkran Day on April 19th, The Biggest and Wettest Party of the Year, Returns I'm not sure if I can link to the 'Pattaya News', I mean if its allowed, but that's where the quote is from!
  6. Correct, but Pattaya take it as its the first day there too? The 19 th is the main day in Pattaya!
  7. Where did I say detaining people on overstay is corrupt??
  8. If you use a VPN?
  9. Songkran starts on the 13th, tomorrow officially, but I understand the 19th is the BIG day in Pattaya? So from tomorrow if you go out, be prepared to get wet?
  10. Are you suggesting the Immigration Police as opposed to the BIB are not corrupt?
  11. Seems a good idea? i agree with your sentiment! Depending what embassy you sent it to, UK, USA , French etc you may get a nondescript answer saying they can't interfere with local immigration, they are not responsible, etc? Any answer you get from TAT will also probably be a 'whitewash' as nobody in Thailand, certainly in the Government will accept any accountability for 'anything' They will probably say there are too many foreigners?????
  12. I do live in Thailand, in Jomtien and i can affirm that the Immigration Office as per the OPs post has 'gone o hell' recently, it was OK pre Covid! Some of the officers are very good in that office, but also some are very bad, in their attitude? Personally I believe that it always pays to be polite to whoever I am talking to, in general it pays off, especially to Thai police and immigration officers. Now by showing obeisance, are you referring to greeting them with a wai, that's fine, but not just civil servants, and i agree people should try and adapt to Thai greetings, but many are ignorant of that fact? Tourists coming to Thailand for two weeks may not have 'read up' on the subject. But I state again 'respect' is earned, meaning if some one is respectful to me then I will return it. If someone is shouting at you/me, that's not respect. "How would you feel if foreigners came to the UK and started telling you what to do?" I don't live in the UK but I do keep up on current affairs/events. Seems to me the UK 'is full' of foreigners telling people what to do?
  13. Quite a bigoted post? "Lack of obeisance to civil servants, " You should realize that respect is not given, it is earned!
  14. They only want the money? How much is the immigration service in Thailand raking in each month?
  15. And some folks ask, why they use agents?????
  16. So the TM30 and 90 day reports only work on the guys/girls, not overstaying, so are legal?
  17. But it should be able to? OK so some of the addresses might have changed, but some won't have?
  18. Love the sarcasm, but probably true?
  19. I think very unlikely, only an idiot would take their original passport out, especially at night and super especially going to soi 6?????
  20. Too late, they already have?????
  21. Right it seems a fairly common mistake by the IO's to incorrectly stamp your permission to stay, so having said that its quite possible they forgot to stamp anything in her passport? Most folks who are not frequent travelers would probably not check after getting stamped in?
  22. So she would have had her fingerprints taken and picture taken at the IO booth, she would have shown her boarding pass to the IO and the IO 'forgot' to stamp her passport? Then she is locked up for 5 days because its all her fault? They should be thanking for showing how mistakes happen and doing something about it! Amazing Thailand........???
  23. Right, but it initially did appear on the website when it was first issued! then it did 'disappear' from the website.
  24. "unless the ins company have actual evidence to say he was not wearing a helmet then IMO they are on shaky ground, perhaps legal intervention is an option here. " Agreed. The insurance company are saying they don't 'believe' he was wearing a helmet, which means they don't actually know for sure? Taking this on face value the family should use the Ombudsman service, its free in the UK and binding? Agree about the hospitals too!
