It was obviously a breached birth which they must have known before actual birth.  In most cases the doc would perform a cesarean which would cut the risks.

Which leads me to presume that the duty doctor at the first hospital was rather less than a doctor or at least not fully competent at delivering babies & was out-of-his-depth during the delivery.

If the doc couldn't turn the baby then they should have opted for a C-section to lesson the risks to mother or baby.

If the doc managed to decapitate the baby by means of pulling then god knows what damage could have happened to the baby prior to death or to mother as a result!!

Why on earth didn't they seek help from a qualified doctor or hospital!!!

No wonder the doctor has gone on leave.... permanently I hope!!!!

So it taking about an hour at Phuket. Compare the equivalent at Chiangi, Singapore I have cleared immigration many times on average in 3 minutes with a smile and free mouth freshening lozenge.  Why the difference, same process?

Singapore is about 50 years ahead of Thailand..

or should I say Thailand is behind Singapore by about 50 years!!!

or maybe Singapore treat tourists as human beings who are travelling, and not treated as nuisance farangs!!!

One day Thailand will actually wake up to the fact that it's now within ASEAN & change it's policies accordingly.

Can we draw the conclusion that the medicine wasn't effective? Psy hospital staff did a poor job evaluating the danger she posed to society? Will this case get the proper third party review necessary to deem what went wrong and how to minimize future errors?

    In answer to your reply:

You can draw any conclusion you like... the post states only that medication was found at the home..
it doesn't mean the medication failed
maybe the in-correct dose was taken
maybe she failed to take the medicine!!

    Stop guessing!!

  4. OK quick question to anyone in the know:

In the past I have traveled via van from Nakhon Pathom to Victory Monument, the van stops/parks in an off-road parking area next to Century Plaza directly below Victory Monument BTS station.

I have then used BTS to travel to my destination.

On my return to the van station next to Century I have bought my return ticket at the ticket booths & got my return ride.

My question is: does this move only apply to those vans which used to congregate around Victory Monument round-about or will this van station be relocated as well?

  5. I have a friend with a daughter studying to be a teacher in Physical Education at University.

Now she is aged 22, she doesn't do a full day at any time, each day consists of only one or two 2 hour lessons if she's un-lucky!

Some of those are theoretical & some are learning the rules of the sport involved...

Most days she only attends for a half day with virtually no homework or free study periods required.

Like most students the work is shared/copied by the students via internet etc

The teacher reading classwork or homework must spot the same exact pages of work including the same mistakes!

She admitted to me earlier this year that a week before exam time the teacher left the questions in his desk draw & told the students he had to go do something & would be gone 15 minutes!!

Soon she will have her certificate in hand & will be teaching the next generation... god help Thailand in the real world!!

What an over reaction! The dog was just licking off the bacteria growing from the unrefrigerated eggs..all the other items have wrappers, just like skin acting as a barrier...

thank god no one saw the soi dogs in the back pissing on the unattended food crates waiting in the sun as the delivery man takes a leak. I wonder if he washed his hands before handling the food crates again?

get real guys...much worse things are happening to your food items that you don't see....

one should much more concern about proper cleaning and disinfectant procedures than whose licking a plate. Hot water is rarely used here in restaurants noodle shops and unfortunately at home. How many homes here have dishwashers or kitchen sink hot water? Those are the questions one should be asking....

No one is saying everything's perfect, but if we illuminate what we can we reduce any chances of infections/contaminations.
as for packaging being a protection to the food inside your correct, but how many people wear gloves when opening a contaminated package & remove the food with tongs before eating?

info like this should never ever be covered up, if there is a possible threat then it should always be made public no matter what, the public are a very necessary tool in combating such attacks, if anything they should be telling the public what to look for and to stay vigilant and report anything suspicious to the authorities immediately

In most countries this would be the correct response to a threat.. but we're talking about Thailand here !!

  8. I actually witnessed a similar event recently.
At a crossing point the barriers were down with lights flashing, and the train was visible approaching in the distance, the usual mass of motorbikes & cars lined up on either side.

A young girl on her motorcycle managed to squeeze herself around the end of the barrier (actually going off-road into the brush) to get across the railway line.. unfortunately she crossed the rails at an angle and her front wheel became stuck in a gap in the lines.
She tried un-successfully to lift the bike up via the handlebars, luckily a quick thinking Thai man got off his bike & ran to her assistance, managing to get hold of her front wheel to pull it fee & drag her bike away from the rails, just in time to allow the train to pass by at some speed.

At this point the railway guard emerged from his hut & was screamed at by the girl for not making the train stop.

Not an isolated event I'm sad to say, many many times I've witnessed people skirting the lowered barriers to get across before the train passes by, I just don't understand the mentality to duck under or get around a barrier that's down for your safety as a train is approaching!!!

  9. I agree with many of the previous posts, with the exchange rate dropping monthly it won't be long before Brits find another "paradise" to exploit....

As for Britain leaving the EU I don't see why the pound should drop so far, they left the EU not the rest of the planet.

They still trade & have strong monetary links with the rest of the world!!

Without the ties of EU they will bounce back soon... I hope.

This is old news but nothing is ever done about it. It has been reported a number of times before  but is seems the government's eyes are wide shut. It is also claimed that Organic certification for contaminated fruit and vegetables.readily can be purchased readily for a price from the relevant authorities Then everyone in the supply chain gets extra for  a so called premium product. Who isn't on the take in Thailand's bureaucracy?

Anyway it happens all over Asia not just Thailand; it's all about greed and making money.

I remember about a year ago there was a big outcry regarding fruit & veg laced with pesticides, levels that no one should except.
What was done after the study & findings... the usual response.
Wait a year and have another study !!!

    Roll-on next years report.

Terrible in all instances......from the Mother to the Swede....

Poor girl at 13 years old, and also got pregnant, wonder where the child is now...

    sad case.....

The baby when it's born will be sent back home to be raised by the grandparents, so mother & child can remain in Samui bringing in the income !!

    An all too familiar story..

The Buddhist leadership needs to change the system in Thailand. Many Thais become monks only out of tradition knowing they will drop out in a few weeks and come back to society. Others do it because they have no job or life plan. Thailand needs to reclassify what a monk is and how one can become one in my opinion. These people who join for short term reasons need to be treated as novices and need to wear something like simple white clothing. They should be required to follow the precepts but not be allowed to become and
"instant" monk. The can still make merit this way and if they truly wish to go further after they go for a certain period as a novice they could actually go through the process to become a monk. The system is just not working as it is now. Okay many will probably disagree with this suggestion but it would be a way to screen people for sincerity and a way to raise the quality of those actually wearing the robes.

Ok I don't condone what the photo's imply... it does look bad in the eyes of true believers of Buddhism.
The monk I guess is only in for a short time (excuse the pun) & the girl should obviously know better, it takes two to tango!!

yes I agree the Thai system maybe out-of-date, taking in recruits of all dubious backgrounds

but if you're a bad person then any amount of training, or training period isn't going to resolve the issues...

just take a look at other faiths around the world and see what goes on...  the Catholic "shirt-lifters" got away with it for decades

but they had the good sense to do it behind closed doors and not put it on Line....

As the good book says " let he who has committed no sin cast the first stone"
