    Hi Doc,

    i was at the airport in Chiang Rai and asked about my CR-Phuket-CR Flight with Vietjet for this Month about Covid Requirements.

    They told me,if you have 2 Vaxxine Shots already,dont need any PCR Test,only Certificate for the Shots or show on Mor Prom App.

    Register on website www.gophuket.com and present QR code before arrival.

    Hotel Confirm Reservation and receipt of hotel reservation must be shown at the check-in counter.

    The link you posted for gophuket takes me to hotels.com ????  Hijacked?

  2. Hi Guys/gals,

    Anyone know the current COVID requirements for domestic flight arrival non-stop CNX to HKT?  I am double vaxxed with Pfizer and have my shot card to prove it.  I have booked a flight on Vietjet but did not see any C-19 requirements for the flight nor anything on the HKT airport website.  Thanks in advance!

  3. Suburbs are kinda back to normal except trying to get a drink with your meal.  You basically to the nudge, nudge, wink, wink to ask for a beer.  Tired of being hit on by Katoey waiters in response... Please allow drinks with dinner at least in CM.

  4. In a land where the laws affecting ability to stay, let alone land ownership, have no guarantee from one day to the next, really?  To see what might happen with this scheme you only have to look to Malaysia changing their requirements for foreigners to stay long term, making it retroactive, and Thailand copying that game plan themselves:

    Really? It was not announced on thethaiger.com which as I know is just one place with live Thai news on English. But do you have some answers about the topic maybe? That’s strange to send me link to a social media site with billions posts when I’ve asked about an exact subject. I’ve googled about it but I couldn’t find the answer on English.

    Wife just stumbled across it on one of her Facebook groups this last Sunday and as the day grew so did the number of locations/times for walk in over the next week or so.  The way they use FB here as a major media outlet astounds me.  AZ for the first shot and Pfizer for the second.  Already know of people that went Monday to some locations.  For 18 and over with no previous vax walk-in.  Monday they lined up at 3:30am for an 8am opening.

  6. Not just you buddy, I have a group of about 20 guys (all well educated/traveled) that are married to Thai women in the US and all of us agree that when they step off the plane back here in Thailand, their IQ goes down 15 -20 points, their English goes to hell, and logic is right out the window.  We used to live here 2004 time frame for a bit over 3 years and almost divorced her then over this kind of behavior as she was making my life harder not easier as I had to look over her shoulder for anything that had to be done.  Went back to the US and all was good again.  Have now been here for a bit over 5 years this time and right back having the same kind of arguments based on lack of basic thinking/planning on her part as when we lived here before.  Only have about 1 more year to go and then back to the US.

    I'm not sure of your question, but here's something about US taxes/Thailand and FACTA;

    Accounts Not Required to Be Reviewed, Identified, or Reported. Unless the Reporting Thai Financial Institution elects otherwise, either with respect to all Preexisting Individual Accounts or, separately, with respect to any clearly identified group of such accounts, where the implementing rules in Thailand provide for such an election, the following Preexisting Individual Accounts are not required to be reviewed, identified, or reported as U.S. Reportable Accounts: 1. Subject to subparagraph E(2) of this section, a Preexisting Individual Account with a balance or value that does not exceed $50,000 as of June 30, 2014. 2. Subject to subparagraph E(2) of this section, a Preexisting Individual Account that is a Cash Value Insurance Contract or an Annuity Contract with a balance or value of $250,000 or less as of June 30, 2014. 3. A Preexisting Individual Account that is a Cash Value Insurance Contract or an Annuity Contract, provided the law or regulations of Thailand or the United States effectively prevent the sale of such a Cash Value Insurance Contract or an Annuity Contract to U.S. residents (e.g., if the relevant Financial Institution does not have the required registration under U.S. law, and the law of Thailand requires reporting or withholding with respect to insurance products held by residents of Thailand). 4. A Depository Account with a balance of $50,000 or less.

    This is the reporting requirement for the Thai Bank or brokerage company to report to the US Treasury Dept, not the individuals requirement to report to the IRS.  He is asking about his reporting requirements as an individual.

    Etaoin Shrdlu's response is correct for the requirement to file a form 8938 with your income tax return in addition to the FATCA reporting that filed on form 114 online with the Treasury dept.

  8. I'd say more like up and hobbling.  Buddy of mine from CA just gave up for the night.  All his docs are .pdf's and the site is bombing out.  Have steered him to the Adobe website that will convert .pdf to jpg for free after setting up a free account.  He has no programs that will convert .pdf or "save as" to another format.

    Findings of these studies suggest that the risk of SARS-CoV-2 infection via the fomite transmission route is low, and generally less than 1 in 10,000, which means that each contact with a contaminated surface has less than a 1 in 10,000 chance of causing an infection.
