Not correct. Two months prior and one month after you apply, until you receive the extension (which might not be exactly a month and the date they give you - wait for their call to you). The latter is not, apparently, in the rule book but is required by many immigration offices.

I actually applied 45 days in advance (Chiang Mai) for my second extension based on a non-O marriage visa.  They still made me wait a month after the expiration of the 1st extension (when you can touch your money) so my 400,000 has now sat long enough to turn into Kim chi.

The 60 day extension to visit wife would only take you through till ~ May 3.

You already have the non O.

Personally I would stick with your plan of 12 month extension.

Cost of extensions is 1900 baht.

Perhaps consider also obtaining a reentry permit. That way you could reentry Thailand in that 12 month extension period.

If timed correctly you could obtain another extension.

And the cost of the re-enty pemit?

The current corvid 19 insurance available for entry to the country is available to the age of 99 and it would only needs to be valid for the length of stay they get on entry.

Hi Joe, very interesting.  About to get my Non-O marriage extension stamp and then leave for the US 2 weeks later for about 4 months with a re-entry permit in my hand.  Sounds like I can cancel my C-19 specific insurance while in the US and then start it up again once I get back.  Have other expense Ins in the US but they will not give a certificate for amount of coverage (unlimited passed my deductible) and that it specifically covers C-19 (covers everything but experimental treatment) and don't cover overseas unless on deaths door.  Sound about right to you?  Thanks as always!

  4. Wife has 1 Moderna shot and needs to get from Chiang Mai to Bangkok on Jan 4th.  Can she fly domestic?  I just got back from Phuket where Vietjet going there did not really look at my shot book I gave them and Airasia coming back did not even ask to see any shot evidence, just my passport.  Thanks in advance!

As ubonjoe mentioned, I don't recall anyone else getting presented such a message on the new system...that is, not being able to at least submit the report.    Maybe they have already began doing  software updates to the new system which does additional screening while submitting where before maybe no screening occurred other than making sure mandatory fields were completed.   If we do start seeing more such reports as yours, I expect system software updates have began to occur over the last few days.

The message you were presented on the new system is basically the message I got presented on the other/older website and mobile app...never could get past the initial page of submitting a report...would tell me to visit my local immigration office.

In mid Sep 2021 is also when I extended my marriage extension of stay at CW and the IO also did a new 90 days address report for me. My current report still had around 6 weeks left on it, but the IO did a new one anyway.   This was the first time (or maybe the 2nd) over a dozen or so years the IO did such....all other times the IO never offered to do a new 90 days report while processing an extension.

Did the same thing in Chiang Mai with the Imm office in Oct where they set up a new 90 reporting at Jan 2nd 2022.  I am still in my "under consideration" period with the stamp to be done on Dec 28th for extension due to marriage.  I just went to use the mobile app to renew my 90 days and get the overstay message so can't progress pass the 1st page.  Question is do I actually use the date I last entered Thailand (8/31/20) in the app or the extension date or ? date?  Never had a problem reporting with the app before this.  Also, does CM immigration want to see a copy of my updated bank book when I go to get the extension stamp?  Thanks all!

  6. Do you have to bring anything more than your updated bank book and a copy of it showing a say 500 baht draw the day you go get your extension stamp for Chiang Mai office?  The officer never did explain that when the missus and I submitted the paperwork and got our date of Dec 28th to come for the stamp (so much for going away at new years).  Thanks in advance.

Go back to the PTT station explaining the situation and leave your contact details.  Odds are 50/1 Rebecca will rock up there today looking for her purse.

Sorry to mislead you, you read before I had to radically revise the post due to the fact that the wife misread the message which then totally changed what the post was about.   It's a lost purse, not a found purse.  Thanks for responding.

  8. Hi Guys,

Friend of ours is helping find the purse at a PTT station in Chiang Dao that had been left behind by the owner.

If anyone finds the purse of Rebecca Bullock, American, drivers license from Kentucky, please PM me and we can get them back together.

    Thanks!

  9. Got tired of the surprises on the 11 such as rounding a blind turn to find an 18 wheeler doing 2 kph right in front of me going up a windy hill.  Take Hwy 1 now through Tak to Nakhon Sawan and then down to BKK from there.  Just did it 4 days ago (Moderna shot finally showed up in BKK) and was 120 -130 kph almost all the way to Nakhon Sawan where I arrived almost 2 hrs ahead of Google estimated time.  Did almost the same speed back to CM.  The 11 would make for an "exciting" time on a small bike!

  10. May not have much in the way of shopping but the weather has been perfect here in CM for the last week and looks to be the same 86F high 61F low, clear skies, for the next 10 days.  Good time to be outside!

If your drive is twenty years old you might spend 2500b on a new drive.

I didn't notice this before...just get a new computer lol. I swap mine out every eight years.

If your mechanical drive is 20 years old you might submit it to Guinness World Records.

Yes.Their daughters are out selling themselves on the streets in huge numbers just so their families can survive. Im sure that justifies any delay in getting back to normal....for some!!!!!

If you don't like what is considered here and other parts of the world as a normal way to make money, then go get the government to create jobs and jobs that actually pay something more than barely being able to eat day to day.

  13. Caution with the reopening.  Buddy of mine and I were in Patong on Bangla, about 10 days ago getting close to closing time, when he went off with one of those stunners you see in the middle of the street.  He showed up about 60min later missing his shirt with a harrowing tail.  He told her a price for boom boom which she agreed to, took him to a nice car, opened the driver side and asked for the money, he said no, not until after boom boom.  She takes him to her room several floors up, she immediately asks for the money only a bit more aggressively after he had removed his shirt.  He says no, after boom boom.  She says now or no boom boom.  He says no, not until after boom boom.  The tension has risen pretty high and she refuses viciously.  He says I'm leaving where she blocks the way out of the room saying pay me.  He pushes past her and heads down the stairs where she proceeds to try and kick him down the stairs from behind over and over again as he is trying to get out of the building.  He actually got into the elevator, keeping her out and went up when she was heading to the entrance to the building while he called the tourist police where the call was picked up but no one said anything.  He said you could hear like the TV on but no one spoke with him.  He finally headed down thinking she would be gone but there she was with her supposed boss who was some Thai guy barely awake and not willing to get into it.  Friend finally pushes his way out the door and got back to the bar I told him I was still at, shirtless and really stressed.  I told him buyer beware and bought him a strong drink.  Took me a couple of days to get the full story out of him but says he will never go back to Bangla, easier places for boom boom elsewhere.

Know the area quite well....  Fraser and Gunnison here as well as numerous places up & down the Front Range. The nice thing about CO is the sunshine. That and the dry climate allows many Winter days feeling refreshing rather than cold. I rarely wore a coat (except when skiing) but always had one in the car, just in case.

........and ohhhhh those occasional Chinook winds coming up from the Gulf. I played a few rounds of golf in January while playing in shorts.

Yup, We were in Fort Collins.  Still have the house and may be back living in it in about 3 - 4 years.  Have about another 1.5 yrs here in Chiang Mai, then about 2yrs in CA and then...?
