  1. Same here, in the end had to purchase a separate policy that covers $1,000,000 for all the world except the US and gave me the doc the COE needed.  About $225/mo and good thing I did it as I discovered while asking about the statement my US policy only covers me 6mo out of the country in a calendar year for life threatening emergency only and I usually am out 8mo. Needed the extra insurance.

I just returned to Chiang Mai after my second Medpark BKK Pfizer shot and asked about vaccine passport.  They were clueless and just pointed at the vaccine certificate they issued.  The process of getting the vaccination was very organized but very busy.  Luckily, the expat community understood that Medpark was working hard and helped make sure things stayed organized.

Wife called the local CDC here in Chiang Mai yesterday and they are not requiring travel docs to get the vaccine passport, just bring your passport and your vaccine certificate a signed copy of your passport and vaccine certificate and they will then set an appt a week later to come pick up and pay your 50 baht.  Was the only one there at 10:15am, took all of 15 min. to fill out the paperwork.  Location is the Nankornping Hospital Tuberculosis Center across from Suriwong bookstore Sridonchai Rd.

  3. I guess as far as length of protection, some of that is going to be individually specific.  For me, where I normally have to see 550 people in front of me in a 3 month span during flu season and under stress, getting the flu shot just makes sense.  I'll be looking at C-19 the same way.  Question is will C-19 become a seasonal thing as time goes on.  Why does the flu have a season at the same time each year ????

So now they have dropped the age group from 65 to 55? What's the reason?

For those below 55, do they have to get a Thai medical certificate of underlying disease or they also accept foreign medical certificate?

They may have extra Pfizer that went into refrigerators and can not go back into deep freeze (only a very short time for that) and would like to see it used up rather than thrown out.

  6. Would love to have taken advantage of this here in CM but had bit the bullet about 3 weeks ago and got the Pfizer in BKK, Medpark.  I'll have to do the 3 day round trip again but understand.  It is about vaccine allotment.  If you get the 1st one at a location, they are going to hold the second shot for you there.  That way they know how many to keep and how many to release to other locations.  Road trip with the wife away from kids and relatives.  Not so bad ????

The Police General Hospital is a public hospital that anyone can use, it's not exclusive to members of the police force.

And the profit earned from that hospital goes where?  Swear to G-d it's like the mafia, only with uniforms.  Their not patrolling the streets, their involvement with crime is like a middle man to resolve things financially between the parties and get their cut thus keeping the insurance companies from paying out, what is their purpose in society really?
