15 million people to receive cash instead of digital wallet payments
dinsdale replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The digital wallet IMO will not see the light of day. This 10k cash handout is more about buying back lost votes from the PTP support base lost when Thaksin jumped into bed with the enemy.- 84 replies

Shocking survey reveals Thai government’s trust crisis
dinsdale replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
This pretty much falls in line with voting sentiment. I wonder if this number would be inverted (70% having faith in govt.) if MFP had been able to form their rightful place as the government of Thailand. -
15 million people to receive cash instead of digital wallet payments
dinsdale replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
From 45 million down to 15 million. Oh well! I guess the 15 million spending the dosh on food and booze will have a good time for a week or or two then back to square one. This will do nothing to "stimulate" the economy. Populist rubbish akin to printing money.- 84 replies

Paetongtarn Urged to Choose Youth Over Old Guard in New Cabinet
dinsdale replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Old or young in PTP coalition will make no difference. All must be subservient to the military royalist elite. As much as PTP want to pretend they are a party for the people they are only in office because of aforementioned military royalist elite so the reformists can not assume power. -
Paetongtarn Urged to Choose Youth Over Old Guard in New Cabinet
dinsdale replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
This article is based on the premise that it will be her decision. Some may say that this is a false premise. As for restoring faith in the party that will take some doing after daddy jumped into bed with the enemy. -
Thailand Investigates Claims of Chinese Aluminium Dumping
dinsdale replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Steel, aluminium (correct spelling), EV's and billions of tonnes of junk products. The CCP heavily subsidises industry and then dumps on international markets. -

Palang Pracharath Splits Over Thammanat Cabinet Snub
dinsdale replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
CC: "It happened overseas and he said it was flour. All's good." EC: "Pita has shares in defunct media company. No PM job for you." EC and CC: "MFP are a threat to the establishment Thailand and the monarchy. You are dissolved." -
New Leader Natthaphong Vows Big Win for People’s Party
dinsdale replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Unless the army is kept in it's barracks and the EC and the CC have their powers severely diminished PP at the next election (dependent on an intervening coup or not before then) could garner an absolute majority yet still be denied the right to govern. -
They will need a true majority in the House nxt election if next election is allowed by the military. The EC and the CC also need their wings clipped. This legal arm of the junta and the royalist establishment is in no way independent and is simply there to ensure the continuation of the status quo protecting the military royalist establishment.

Thaksin Shinawatra Rejects Need for Official Advisor Role with New PM
dinsdale replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
New PM on the right and the puppeteer on the left. If anyone thinks otherwise they are severely deluded. -
Nice one, cheers, but this is typical Asian culture. "I am your superior. How dare you challenge/question me" These are the dinosaurs that need to be made extinct if Thailand has a future for it's people but sadly these are the dinosaurs who wield the power.

People's Party Opposes Court's Decision ousting PM Srettha

I wouldn't call the CC or the EC independent. They are legal arms of the military royalist establishment. -
Paetongtarn Shinawatra to be Nominated as Thailand's New PM
dinsdale replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
"The most powerful position in the country of Thailand" resides in Germany. I also think it's fair to say that the PM if not military royalist establishment, which PTP is not, will only be tolerated if they serve a purpose for the aforementioned military royalist establishment.- 204 replies
