  1. Are you kidding. It's boiling hot and humid everyday. We are now in the build up to the wet season. Couple of months to go until it really breaks.
  2. I'm just going to have a guess. WRONG! This will be the earlist start to the wet season since I've been here. 19 yrs. If anything it's been sliding later.
  3. At least he's using the legal avenue. So many manchild Thai men use guns. Maybe if Thailand has the chance to or more to the point is allowed to grow up, eventually the people will too. Probably not what the defenders of "TheThree Pillars" want. Maybe the people of Thailand want freedom from these 'Three Pillars'? The massive mandate from the people would certainly indicate this.
  4. They can't. Modifying section 112 was a main part of their election platform. Can't see how they could back peddle on this one.
  5. Just seen on BP the scare campaign continuing. Children need watching is the theme but you have to get to the end of the article where it says it's not serious.
  6. Well there you go. Lucky for MFP that they didn't form a coalition with them. BJT are on the same road as the Democrats are on and continue down. Decimation. LOL.
  7. You never know. A new progressive government may issue in new progressive freedoms of speach on all sorts of platforms and all sorts of topics. Vaccines come to mind.
  8. So democracy in Thailand and the will of the people comes down to a panel of paid off and planted military elitist, royalist in the Senate through a fraudulant constitution put forward by a general who staged a coup and corrupted an election to retain power.
  9. It's an issue because it's in the news and people with no idea about perspective gooble it up.. This is the State of New South Wales, Australia. Population 8.18 million. Doesn't make the news. People don't wear masks. COVID-19 hospitalisations and deaths in NSW up to 4pm 11 May 2023 1,292people in hospital 31people in ICU 59lives lost in the past 7 days https://www.health.nsw.gov.au/Infectious/covid-19/Pages/stats-nsw.aspx
  10. Indeed. It is Omicron. I'm sure those living in fear and unwilling to see the scientific evidence, unwilling to see that globally covid infections are decreasing, unwilling to acknowledge that's it's pretty much just another viral infection, unwilling to get on with life, will give my post the old sad or laughing emoji. The sad thing is that people are still locked in to 3 years ago when it was Delta a completely different beast.
  11. No suprise. New Omicron variants/sub-variants will come and go. Each one more contagious but no more severe than the previous. So far it's only one case. Will it become dominant? Who knows. Will it be a non severe/mild virul infection for the majority? Yes, it will. It's an Omicron XBB sub- variant.
  12. It's still dancing with the devil and still needs to be in bed with the gang of 250 going agaist the mandate of the people which is to expunge the military from politics.
  13. They get to be part of a majority government and I assume a ministerial portfolio or a senior position within a ministry..
  14. I'm reading elswhere that Pita has announced his coalition and it includes Phue Thai.
  15. This coalition would still need the support of the military senate.
  16. Isn't it 300% on imported vehicles.
  17. They would have to dance with the devil. Not sure it will be forgotten. Democrat voters certainly didn't forget. Not sure Thaksin, who has said PT should support MFP (I know maybe not the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth), can change the direction of the voting public demonstrated by a massive mandate for change. The % of the young vote will increase by the nxt election and the mood for change would have grown substantially. PT is in a tricky position and risks losing a lot of their support base.
  18. I think I read somewhere as of now it is only 6 so need another 60.
  19. Sorry but I have to disagree on the point of senators being promised seats. The senate needs to be elected by the people. This can be done in seperate elections if the senate has let's say a six year term whereas the House of Reps is a four year term or together in the case of a double dissolution where both houses are dissolved at the same time necessiting both a vote for the house and the senate. I guess, however, in the short term it is a possible solution until the new constitution is written and sent to referendum.
  20. A very good article. Will PT jump and risk losing more votes at the next election? Will MFP get 66 senators to come onboard. As I have been saying a minority govt is unworkable so this option seems unlikey but it is a way to cause civil uprest which IMO the army is looking for. Lots of questions raised all because of non democratically elected senators put in to protect the 'three pillars' from the people's wishes. Interesting times.
  21. Rediculous comment. The politics of a country affects ALL the people living in said country.
  22. Ah! I missed that. Thanks. Well that's the end of them.
  23. We've known this for some time but it depends on Pheu Thai. Will they jump ship and form their own coalition? I don't think so. They would have to align with the military. Having a majority in the House of Reps as we know does not guarantee formation of govt. due to the double house sitting and the gang of 250 senators selecting the new PM who can then select their own cabinet. Yes they (MFP coalition) will be a majority (if PT stay in the coaltion) but the question is will they be a majority in government or in opposition. If they are a majority opposition then parliament will be unworkable and dissolved as soon as there is a vote of no confidence in the minority govt. Thailand has an extremely complex political system but this of course became more complex in 2017 when Prayut planted his mates in the Senate. Again I say BJT might join the coalition which will take them over the line or the senators will abandon ship or maybe both. Very intriguing indeed.
  24. Pressure is building on the gang of 250.
  25. Which could all be thwarted by non democratically elected senators who make sure they pick the winner not the people engaged in said democratic process. May 15th? Not exactly hot off the press.
