Off topic some what I know but I looked at Salmon Arms today stupidly thinking there would be plenty of places you could order a meal of salmon or even rainbow trout (rainbow trout one of my all time favourite fish) but so many restaurants there are asian. Funny how countries are pushing tradition with one hand and profit from 'diversity' with the other. I said when I was at uni 30 odd years ago that China (CCP) are the most dangerous lot of people on Earth. This was when I was doing Chinese politics. Needless to say I had a lot of oppostion but I think I was right then and I think I'm right now. Prayut has nothing on Xi but it's a matter of negative degrees.

Yep. Been happening for decades in many places. Once the Chinese buy in that's pretty much it. They'll only sell to other Chinese. My brother's in BC right now. Heading to Emerald Lake from VC and then onto Salmon Arms. After Canada heading to Alaska. I'm so jealous. Beautiful part of the world from what I've seen about it.

I think you are wrong. There is a new generation. MFP understand the youth vote. The youth votes are future votes. The corrupt dinasaurs are the past. MfP are also and will be getting middled aged votes from those who were Thaksin voters and the yellow shirts who are not the ultra conservative royalists. I undestand corruption Thailand is how it this country works and is begrudgingly accepted by the populice but I'll guaruntee you the populice would be happier without it.

What matters now for Thailand is Prayut either listens to the people or not. If he does maybe it will be the same with self serving corrupted politicians or just maybe MFP will change things. If Prayut doesn't listen to the will of the people and uses his corrupted system to stay in power then as I have been saying Thailand will explode.

Corruption to a maximum, classrooms in most state and all tessaban and wat scools basically the same as they were mid 20thC where chalk, blackboards and fans are the highest level of technology, way to many students per class, not enough teachers, overworked teachers etc which is the complete opposite of the elite government schools, elite private schools and international schools. It is all about maintaining the status quo of the minority owning the majority. Reform in education is the same as getting rid of corruption. Those who can change will not because it's their power, wealth and status that will be affected.

That's just little fatty and I would suggest just the tip of the iceberg. Prayut has corrupted any sense of 'democracy' in Thailand buy changing the constitution, moving the goal post during the last election, getting rid of the opposition through a constitutional court stacked with more of his paid off lackeys and of course his 250 bought off mates in the senate to vote for him. He is a coup making general. He is there for the power not the people. He is a complete ____ and the people of Thailand have had enough. Fanboy or not he is either gone legitimately or the people will take him down. I wonder where he will find exile? China maybe?

I've asked some Thais and their response is pretty much the same. Draw their finger across their neck aka cut his throat. I would call that hate. My wife hates him. My daughter hates him. My wife's entire extended family hates him. People I work with hate him. I think hate is perfectly apt for how the majority of this nation feels about Prayut. This will be reflected in the election.
-
Agree with your 1st sentence but I'm sorry but I can't agree with your last. There is no respect left for him to lose. He is hated by the vast majority of Thais.

Nine-Year-Old Prayut Regime Coming To An End: Academic
dinsdale replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Before the last coup bus loads of Thais came to BKK. Do you not think it will happen again if Prayut defies the will of the people? It's different this time. As for no reason to rebel, Prayut might give them just that reason. My bet is the people will take to the streets. Don't underestimate the Thais. -
Nine-Year-Old Prayut Regime Coming To An End: Academic
dinsdale replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
How? Those from the North and North East already in BKK along with the students, youth and the middle class who are not royalists and hate Prayut will take to the streets then the entire North and North East will decend on BKK in support. The military will be overwhelmed. How's that for a senario. Prayut remains in power this counrty will explode. -

And this is the thing. As I've been saying the majority hate him but will he go. Will he listen to the will of the people or not and if he doesn't trouble will certainly be the outcome.
