  1. Easily checked you say. Of course you would have to check each and every tourist coming in. How many per day would that be? How many problems will occur? What level of insurance is needed. You are fully insured would you need be pay the tax? Should people who have full comprehensive travel insurance need to pay? What about those with travel insurance but not to the level you can afford? Maybe it's not the case that "the matter is easily checked.".
  2. One of the reasons it didn't happen before was because the airlines said no.
  3. Rediculous. Do you not remember why this didn't happen when it was first proposed? Who will check in the 'tax booths'? How many 'tax booths' will be needed. How about a line for full insurance, another for minimal insurance and another for no insurance? All will need to be checked. Remember the airlines will not do this. It's unworkable this is why it's not happening.
  4. They're trying to make waiting times getting through shorter and your idea would make it a whole lot longer.
  5. Say what you like but the question remains, HOW? This is why it hasn't been implemented. As for travel insurance how can this be checked? What level of travel insurance? Who collects the Bt300? It's not as straightforward as your post suggests.
  6. AI can help society and AI can produce articles for sites like this.
  7. Here we go again. Same old tax with the same problem. How it's to be collected. This is something that was never properly thought through. Policy first, how to implement it an afterthought. Going from this article this problem is yet to be solved.
  8. Liking a country and criticising aspects of said country can live hand in hand and both the love and the hate should be allowed to be freely expressed.
  9. By 4 hours in prison surly you mean 4 hours sitting in an office in a prison.
  10. Thailand should have posters at entrance points telling all coming in that freedom of speech is not allowed in Thailand. Any critisism of anything may result in legal action That should be good for the image.
  11. Re previous post. I mean the image is both rediculous and distasteful. Reference to what? Just stupid.
  12. This is both rediculous and distasteful but to be expected of AI generated 'news' which are the majority of 'articles' on this site.
  13. They did win the election and won it convincingly. They were dinied their rightful place in office by the Junta's non-elected senators. 51% is to form government in your own right but this is virtually impossible in Thailand. They got 37.99% of the vote which is huge. They also won 10 more seats than PTP. It was the non-elected Senators who went against the will of the people and denied MFP their democratic right to office.
  14. Quite the opposite last election. The people's decision was overwhelming in a landslide victory yet we are where we are. This whole Senate process is about not having fair elections. Keep in mind 50 of the junta's senators will remain and who knows how many of the others will be "voted" back in.
  15. Aint nobody been gettin rid of with this. This is about appearing to be legit whilst bolstering the conservative elite/military power by a pseudo or one could say corrupt democratic process. The only way this unelected govt by the people is going is by a coup. All future elections will be rigged in favour of the status quo so I can't see any other way.
  16. Yep and it's completely corrupt from the very top down and the so-called govt. is only representitive for the corrupt elites and the corrupt generals. This is why Thailand will never Move Forward.
  17. And this is why it's a farce. The is a house of parliament and those within should be voted for by all voting age people of Thailand in national elections (as it is it remains basically non-elected and non-representative). Of course if this was the case come next election both the House of Reps and the Senate would be dominated by progressive parties and this just cannot be allowed as Thailand would be in danger of becoming a true representative democracy and the power and corruption of the generals and the elite would diminish.
  18. The new senate will be inclusive but only inclusive of those deemed supportive of the conservative military elite. No person deemed to be supportive of a progressive agenda are allowed.
  19. Big Joke and high-ranking officers are summoned by police More accurately .... Corrupt police officers are summoned by corrupt police officers
  20. It would need to. Last year was a short and not very wet wet season. Traditional wet season starts 20/07 this year which is Khao Phansa or the beginning of Buddhist Lent. Last year the real wet didn't really start until late August early September. I hope this year will be different. We need a long wet season. The build up to the wet what really does me in. Hot and humid.
  21. Delete the word military and insert the word generals and this article becomes much more accurate. Corrupt to the core.
  22. The old and the poor can die from exposure especially upcountry when the cold season actually gets cold.
  23. He justified his decision, stating that it he was driven by the nation's best interest following orders.
  24. For the last week the daily minimum (usually the overnight minimum) has been 29°C everyday. What do you think the average minimum for the week woulld be? The daily minimum alone tells you nothing about the daily average temperature and therefore tells you nothing about the average monthly temperature. Yes it's usually always coolest before dawn which tomorrow is 5:59 AM not "around 7AM" but I simply fail to see what this has got to do with April's temperatures. Hot days and hot nights. That's what's it's been for the entire month.
