Extortion by Ministry of Agriculture task force exposed by senator
Ah! Thailand. Bent from top to bottom. Fairly sure that those in a position of corruption think it's normal practice and guarantee those on the receiving end know it is.

Booze battle: Thailand still missing the middle path in alcohol control
Let's hope the minority, conservative religious, wowsers will not only get their way but I fear this will not be the case. Any liberalisation of the current rediculous laws will be seen as progressive and as we all know this will not be tolerated in Thailand. Move Foward Party: Not allowed. Move Backwards Party would be more descriptive of Thailand.

E-cigarette manufacturers target students with new ‘toy pod’ trend
Direct from China. Vaping is everywhere here. If they don't want children to vape (and they shouldn't be) why allow this in? Allow me to answer my own question. Corruption. Having said this it looks like just the thing a 'grown up' Thai women will love to use. Just look at the hair pins and slippers they use.

Thailand collaborates with Sweden and Denmark to fight corruption
If you believe Thailand fights corruption I'm sorry but you are deluded. Corruption is at best overlooked and at worst encouraged. Corruption is in the fabric of those who are in a position to be corrupt. Army, govt, judiciary, police, local govt, school directors, hospital directors the list goes on. Corruption is part of Thai culture be it on the side that benefits or the side that pays. You can bet that anyone who is done for corruption here there will be the corrupt on the other side that benefits.

Thailand collaborates with Sweden and Denmark to fight corruption
Off to a good start. Two out of seven aren't corrupt. 😉 Denmark ranked number 1 (least corrupt) Sweden number 6 and Thailand number 108. Good luck there. You can't get beer from a cow. Thailand is corrupt top to bottom. Corruption is endemic in this country and every single person here knows this. https://www.transparency.org/en/cpi/2023

Turn off the lights for “Earth Hour” tomorrow : Bangkok Governor
There are millions of lights on every night in Thailand. Bit of a competition between provinces as to who can use the most lights to look the most beautiful.

Thaksin Remains ‘Untouchable’ At Parliament
It says that the rich and powerful (aka completely and totally corrupt) are above both the law and the parliament. As for Thaksin being elected twice this is true but vote buying was massive. He's a convicted criminal and whose going to convict the generals when they've set up the whole process so they can't get convicted. No weakness just total corruption.

Thaksin Remains ‘Untouchable’ At Parliament
If you call completely currupt a weakness then I must agree.

Thai defence ministry to downsize military
These will not be the Generals. Way to much power and money for any early retirement amongst these dinasaurs. Mind you there are some tasty senate seats coming up I'm sure something can be arranged.

Missing Canadian found dead at central Thailand railway station
RIP is a religious term. IMO if one is dead one cannot rest or have peace because one no longer exists.

Missing Canadian found dead at central Thailand railway station
You lived in Ban Pong? Question where does the other railway line go? As for argue about trains he was on a train one of many that pass through the Ratchaburi Station every day. You are the one who said only 3 or 4 trains a day. You're wrong and won't accept that others may be right. By the way goods trains and trains transporting army vehicles also use that line.
-
Missing Canadian found dead at central Thailand railway station
How very pedantic of you. Yep he didn't avoid the avoidable death.
-
Missing Canadian found dead at central Thailand railway station
I lived in Ban Pong which is in Ratchaburi and where the line goes through and let me tell you there are plenty of trains to and from the south on that line. You don't know what your talking about.
-
Missing Canadian found dead at central Thailand railway station
I used to do it a lot on that very line but ALWAYS a good idea not to put any part of your body out that can get ripped off if you can't see what's coming. For sure there will now be a crackdown and that particular avenue of going for a smoke will be curtailed. I remember a woman being raped on that line and if I remember correctly that led to no alcohol on trains and eventually all train and bus stations.

Missing Canadian found dead at central Thailand railway station
Sitting on the train between carriages having a smoke with his legs protruding to such an extent that something on or around the station platform collected his leg ripping him from the train.

Missing Canadian found dead at central Thailand railway station
Yep. Sadly some people don't think and the loss of life can well be the outcome in certain situations. Happens on the roads constantly.

Missing Canadian found dead at central Thailand railway station
This may well be the case but if this bloke wasn't sitting where he was, and was not supposed to be, this thread would not exist and the man would not have died. I think a legal case would be hard pressed to get any compensation.
