  1. Maybe the delay is more to do with working out the process after the announcement rather than before. The entrance tax is a good example of this. First the thought bubble, then the announcement and then work out how to implement it.
  2. "The world is changing at an ever increasing pace." Yes, and for the worst. Democratic countries are becoming less democratic which has been very well demonstrated in the last 4 years.
  3. Comparing apples and oranges here. Thailand is ruled by the military/elite. The highest courts are miltary plants. The Senate is full of military plants. The EC is military plants. I cannot see a comparison. Everyone knows the charge is spurious but to defend against it MFP must go through a corrupt system designed to maintain the status quo i.e. the power and wealth of the military/elite.
  4. We all know what the answer is and we all know what the answer will be.
  5. Children kowtowing to their teachers. Pitiful. All part of the indoctration process of never questioning and always respecting authority.
  6. Should be interesting. I have also seen that BJP are now on the chopping block for disolving. Plan I guess is to get rid of everyone other than those that back the military.
  7. So far. Long way to go yet. Maybe still get the 2 or 3 wks straight of 37-38C+.
  8. This makes me very sad. Not the article but the headline. Should read: Thailand: The Hub of Smartphones in 2024
  9. Thailand braces for heatwave and storm surge across 12 provinces Should read: Thailand still bracing for heatwave and storm surge across 12 provinces as this was forecast this time last week and it didn't happen as far as I know. Again it's the hot season and suprisingly the weather is hot in the hot season. Not a heatwave which is a prolonged period of hot weather over and above that which is normal for the period. As for storm surge once again the terminology is incorrect. Nowhere in the article does it mention a storm surge which is: "A storm surge .... is defined as the danger of life-threatening inundation from rising water moving inland from the shoreline somewhere within the specified area, generally within 36 hours, in association with a tropical, subtropical, or post-tropical cyclone." https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/surge/warning/#:~:text=A storm surge warning is,%2C or post-tropical cyclone. So no heatwave and no storm surge. Great headline.
  10. The way to learn is to look it up, however, your second sentence is an example.
  11. Indeed not. Next thing they'll be thinking for themselves and challenging the system and this cannot be tolerated. Indoctrination must be total and dissent must be quashed before it starts.
  12. Is does indeed. It's been withdrawn/censored due to NATIONAL SECURITY CONCERNS so Thailand is going nowhere which is exactly what the military/elite want. The status quo is power and money for a very few and it shall not change.
  13. Fascism, totalitarianism, religion and sadly parts of democracy all do the same thing. Brainwashing and indoctranation. Any thoughts or conversations that challenge the dogma or narraritive is seen as dangerous and conspiratorial. One must think how we tell you to think.
  14. Digital wallet? The miltary will allow this general debate to happen. They will then allow the the vote of no confindence in the PM and will support it. PM gone. MFP disolved. No PM and no opposition. Any proposal of a new PM will be blocked by the Senate. How can parliament continue? Citing uncertainties in the interest of the national security of Thailand and the protection of the monarchy the miltary will form a caretaker govt. until an election can be called. Never mind soft power 4.0 this will be soft coup d'etat 2.0. It's a scenario and I think a possible one. One thing is certain though. The miltary/elite will not lose their power and in this scenario it will of course be increased.
  15. Judges will be watching their shares, crypto and bank accounts go up before they read they verdict they have been handed to by the generals.
  16. I've underlined and made bold what I think are key issues. This week, Songchai Nianhom, president of People for the Protection of the Monarchy Institution (Por-Por-Sor) and his team showed up at the Wat That Thong High-School to raise their concerns that open discussion of some of these issues may affect national security. He questioned what is being taught to students and how their answers will be handled by teachers. Kaokorn Suksangamkul, the teacher who wrote the exam paper, said “a fun classroom is a space for academic debate, teachers have a role in encouraging students to think, speak out, debate and use their logic, so that social science subjects can be more interesting”. Yesterday, the Office of the Basic Education Commission, the school’s governing body, withdrew the exam paper and ordered an investigation into its issue. Another source says, however, that the Primary Educational Service Area (PESA) is asking the school to amend the exam paper to remove some key phrases. Paramee Waijongcharoen, a Move Forward MP and member of the parliamentary committee on education told Thai PBS’s ‘The Activ’, “We have problems with academic freedom in Thai classrooms. Children are being asked to memorise texts for exams, but are not being tested on their abilities to analyse and compare social situations.” Paramee also emphasised that “schools need to be open to various opinions.” It's all about indroctination and social control IMO and this is what the military/elites want. Good on this teacher. This is what Thailand needs but alas no. You cannot do this. You cannot challenge students to think critically about all issues. Only the issues we say. I bet there was no problem with climate change question and any student that said "Thailand is the hub of EV's" would passed with flying colours.
  17. Question from teacher. Dot point 1: Do you think that 112 is a good law or do you think it needs reforming? Student: I think it needs reforming because it has been weaponized and used as a political tool. BIB: You're nicked. It's off to the monkey house for you.
  18. Being so many public school classrooms are still in the 1960's maybe another 60 years.
  19. Very interesting indeed. 3 minutes to choose and 2 minutes to answer? I think the topics are great and this is the type of thing education should teaching but as for a verbal exam with time restrictions it's ludicrous. These are topics that should be taught and openly discussed within the classroom but unfortunately dot points 1 and 6 will see you locked up and I'll bet you no student picked these two points along with points 5 and 7. Sadly the entire list of 50 is not given. I would be very interested to see. Also, the person, and well done to you, has probably lost their job. I forgot this bit. Social science exam paper raises debate over national security
  20. ...and the liars, cheaters and theives do not want anyone threatening their power and fortunes. Anyone who does will be dealt with. Do not be fooled people the system here is cuttroat and the military/elite will see it remains so barring outright revolution. Myanmars military dictatorship is not long for this world. Thais should be watching this. Difference is the people against the coup leaders in Myanmar are well armed and have been doing this for decades. They have armies. Thailand will have to be a people's revolution. IMHO it will happen at some stage or there will be a change at the top that will change things for the better and this country will finally be out of the grips of the corrupt, power and money hungry military/elite.
  21. Sadly you are wrong. No one other than the military/elite can have power. PT are not in power and I'll argue against anyone who says they are. The military/elite has the power. MFP could not lie to the electorate otherwise they become the same. They won the election because of this. Change from within is not possible. Politics is a very fickle thing at the best of times but when you have a system set up by a junta to sustain the status quo your chances of success are .....well we can all see. Nil.
