"Most of whose cities are evacuated, infrastructure rubbled and farmlands laid waste." This happens in wars if you haven't noticed. "much of that Black Sea Fleet is at the bottom of the Black Sea." Name the vessels sunk and how much of the fleet remains. "The peninsulas communications are dependent on one bridge, which Ukraine has demonstrated it can cut when it wants." The Kerch bridge is very tactical indeed. IMO if it's downed it want make that much of a difference. "The much vaunted Russian Army, touted as superior to NATO and almost on a par with the US" Rubbish. The Russian armed forces are nowhere close to the US, and NATO has some damn fine weapon systems, and for now US military backing and financial support. "relying on hiring in troops from North Korea to defend Mother Russia!" 10,000 questionably trained North Koreans that probably don't speak Russian ain't what I'd define as reliance. "Ukraine, battered, is still standing, still fighting and still hurting Russia, and shows no sign of failing." Agree except for the last bit. Personnel is a problem, weapons are a problem and it's Russia advancing into Ukraine not Ukraine pushing back. "NATO alliance, which is waking up to the fact that it is probably going to have to manage without the US." Agree. "The US military may well rapidly lose potency under the inspired leadership of a Fox News presenter, and with large swathes of it's command structure possibly facing dismissal or Courts Martial! Certainly no-one is going to rely on them!" Disagree. There's going to be a big shake up in the military from the Trump side you can bet your bottom dollar on that. "So when you are considering winning and losing, you need to consider more than battle maps." Although battle maps are not all the same and open to bias they are still a valuable tool for seeing how the battlefield is moving which gives an indication of the direction of the war. I'm guessing you haven't looked at a single one. I challenge anyone to demonstrate that this post shows any bias. Expecting the childish emojis but no rational and well argued response.

Rubbish. Kursk territory held by Ukraine is miniscule in comparison to the gains Russia has made. There is no evidence of Nth Koreans active in this area of the Kursk Oblast. "Push the invaders out of Kursk."? Ukraine are the invaders. Try and think rationally. As for hitting Kursk with the ATACMS it seems this is what they've been limited to by the US. Not sure. I've posted many times ATACMS will make little to no difference to the course of the war. Bargaining power? So you finally admit Trump will bring an end to it. I'm sure this was the plan for the Ukraine moving into the Kursk Oblast but it's not much bargaining power. Maybe the bit of the Kursk Oblast they hold in a deal for Donetsk. p.s. To all the vacuous, spiteful, vitriolic, ad hominem posters who are going to comment calling me a Putin fanboy or whatever and or leave the pitiful negative emojis I DON'T CARE. What you see above in my post is something you are devoid of. A grasp on reality.

Who's trivializing war. As I have repeatedly said this is a protracted war of attrition. Civilians are being killed as are troops. This happens in wars like it or not. What you continue to avoid is that all these lives lost could have been spared. It was obvious what Putin was up to in 2022 and there's no way the US did not know.

New Alcohol Control Bill Nearly Finalised; Set for December House Vote
dinsdale replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
If you say so. I guess you were here as I was in 2004 when one day I could buy a beer at 711 at 16:30 and the next day I couldn't. Illegal to sell to under 20's? Yep tis true but TIT. I've seen e.g. 8 yr old's buying alcohol for the "grown ups" at the local M&P. -
I did say greater than. It's more like 111,000km2. Go look at some war maps. This is now a war of often metres taken and metres lost now. The greatest gains from Russian came from their initial push 2022. The 110,000 doesn't include Crimea. The Black sea naval fleet wasn't decimated, sure their were some very high value assets sunk, but the reality is they moved the fleet. They had to because of the sea drones. Very effective weapons. North Korean soldiers needed? Don't think so. There's only an estimated 10k of them. As for troop losses as I have said it's a protracted war of attrition and the numbers are on Putin's side. This is just a fact. As for the Kursk Oblast Ukraine occupies around 500km2 but there too there is ebb and flow of territory held by one side or the other.

New Alcohol Control Bill Nearly Finalised; Set for December House Vote
dinsdale replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
It ain't to stop people drinking all day that's for sure. My local M&P opens around 7 in the morning and closes around 11 in the evening. I can buy alcohol there any time when it's open including the ridiculous Buddhist holiday alcohol sales prohibition. As for the law it was initially brought in (1970s?) to stop politicians getting pissed (I think) but never really enforced until 2004 when Thaksin clamped down on the enforcement of the 00.00-11:00 and 14:00-17:00 prohibition of alcohol sales citing protecting schoolchildren. -

Love your logic. Pity it's total BS. -
Another stupid comment. Saying the war is going Putin's way in your tiny brained opinion means the person saying this must be a Putin supporter. Completely deranged way to look at things. Huge casualties are been taken on both sides. Fact. Russia is winning the protracted attritional war evidenced by ground captured. Fact. Russia has more troops than Ukraine. Fact. ATACMS will make little difference. Fact. What part of this comment suggests any support for one side or the other?
-
Ridiculous comment. So anyone who comments on the situation and says that Russia is winning is a Putin supporter. It's nothing to do with supporting one side or the other. It's the fact's happening on the ground. Since 2022 Russia has taken>100,000km2. This is simply a fact. Go look at some war maps. Saying that the ATACMS will have little affect on how the war's progressing has nothing to do with being a Putin supporter. It's a fact.

Questionable Credibility of Two Key Witnesses in Matt Gaetz Probe May Lead to No Criminal Charges: Report Aaron KellerSep 23rd, 2022, 3:42 pm The 17-year-old at issue in the investigation was also on that trip, though by that time she was already 18 or older, people familiar with the matter have said. She has been a central witness in the investigation, but people familiar with the case said she is one of two people whose testimony has issues that veteran prosecutors feel would not pass muster with a jury. https://lawandcrime.com/high-profile/questionable-credibility-of-two-key-witnesses-in-matt-gaetz-probe-may-lead-to-no-criminal-charges-report/

What Will Trump’s Economic Plan Mean for American Wallets?
dinsdale replied to Gecko123's topic in Political Soapbox
America imports oil. I guess if they stop importing oil your point becomes moot. -
Kursk Oblast was a strategical move (and a poor one at that) and can in no way be seen as tactical. It has taken troops away from where they are most needed on the eastern front. If taking the nuclear facility was the goal then this goal will never be achieved. If it's about trading captured land then this will more than likely happen but the part of the Kursk Oblast that has been taken is in no way commensurate to that of which Russia has taken since 2014 and 2022.
-
So far there is no evidence that Korean troops have been deployed to active positions in Kursk. As for WWIII well this ain't going to happen unless NATO and US troops get boots on ground and that ain't goin' to happen. The only real change that will be seen is a slowing down of Russia's advance with the onset of winter. ATACMS will have little effect and will not change the course of the war. As for this article the anti-Trump bias is evident. Trump Jnr. Is just politicking with this comment.

Well that's not quite the case. For starters the US is giving weapons to Ukraine. The freedom to use some of the weapon systems comes with caveats. Use a particular weapon system within the restrictions we impose or you'll get no more. There would also be US weapon system specialists on the ground that can be instantly withdrawn.

And this is why there will be no nukes. The policy change on ATACMS poses no threat to the Russian state. Indeed high value military assets like the Tu 95, Tu 160 and Su 34's are well out of the range of the ATACMS. ATACMS are going to have little impact overall and Russia's push west will continue. Had these been deployed into Russia 2 years ago and Biden and NATO didn't drip feed weapons to Ukraine things would probably look very different to what it is today. So far Russia has captured >100,000km2 since 2022.
