you got your wires crossed by more than a bit Since the advent of the eVisa system I would wager many hundreds of people using it applied for a visa while in their country, BUT because they didn't apply early enough it wasn't approved before they were booked to fly here 😕 They flew in FREE stamp entry. THEN after they were here the visa was approved and they got the PDF eVisa emailed to them. (often within days after arriving) They were able to print the PDF bounce out and back by land or air to activate that visa entry without any issue at all The eVisa PDF does not show ANY of the information (flight/date of travel, etc) you used when you applied for the visa at the consulate Single entry visas are valid for 3 months from the date of issue and as long as the person exits/re-enters thailand before that date there's no issue getting stamped in on it NOTE I am not saying these people did anything wrong (other than apply too close to their flight time to thailand) as they were in their country when they applied, and they did show proof of flight from their country TO thailand when they applied. It just was bad timing BUT it's happened to a LOT of people In other only mildly related news I just had a person apply for an eVisa online at the thai consulate Paris (hands down the WORST thai consulate in the EU to apply at with a 6 WEEK processing time) and they had submitted a flight from Germany to thailand as proof they're coming here. They were rejected because the flight did not originate in France. <- I posted this to point out that you need a flight originating from the country you're applying in

Keep in mind there are OVER 80 immigration offices in the country AND I always recommend that people go to their immigration office and get the hand out specific to that office This is a GENERAL list <- meaning it is NOT immigration office specific BUT it covers most of the required documentation, copies, etc you need

I think you have your terminology mixed up and Pattaya57 caught it 👍 You want to apply for the 90 day Non-O visa inside the country THEN you want to get a RE-ENTRY PERMIT <- that lets you exit/re-enter during that 90 days, AND then you want to leave for a bit. As long as you get the re-entry permit before you leave after getting the 90 day Non-O visa and come back BEFORE the 90 day stamp runs out you'll be fine and be able to get your yearly extension when you come back

The thing is a single entry tourist visa or a single entry Non-Imm visa is valid for 3 months from the date of issue That means you have 3 months to ENTER thailand and get stamped in on the visa (even if you showed up here the day the visa expires you'd still get stamped in for as long as you should on that visa) There is no reason to wait until it's close to you traveling to apply for ANY single entry visa NOW on the other hand if you're getting a 6 month METV (Multi-Entry Tourist Visa) you would want to get that one as close to when you're flying here as you can, because it's 6 month validity starts burning down the second they issue it and the faster you get here on it the closer you get to getting the 9 months of stay possible out of it

Just go to the Udon Immigration office with the documents/copies Dr Jack54 mentioned and apply for a 30 day extension, the reason is "tourism", you're here free stamp entry as a tourist. The extension is 1900baht

Totally enforced, you don't show the proof of funds for the required time you don't get the visa and most times can't even get in the gate to try to apply

There is no generosity anymore, with the TM 30 program and the tm-47 program cross-checking addresses you have to file a new tm30 every time you come into the country and in fact when you return home even if you stay someplace inside the country. If they register you in the TM 30 system you need to refile one when you go back home to you primary address Also you have to get that address exactly right on the 90 online system, it has to be just like it's written on the TM 30

Ummm, none of those consulates you mentioned has online application service. the ONLY nearby consulates that do online applications are Hong Kong, and Singapore (which uses it own system NOT the eVisa system) <- singapore will let you apply for the visa online thru them while you're not there in that country, then email you when it's approved and you set up a date/time to go there, turn in the documentation and get the visa Here's the breakdown of nearby consulates; Vientiane & Savannakhet; mandatory appt booked consulates to get IN the gate to apply in person HCMC and Hanoi; mandatory appt booked consulates to get in the gate to apply in person Penang & Kota Bharu; walk up consulates (no appt online) just show up and apply Kuala Lumpur; mandatory appt booked consulate to get in the gate to apply Phnom Penh; walk up consulate (no appt online) just show up and apply

I think you mis-remembered what I wrote 😉 I meant it to let people know (those clueless ones who wait until the last minute for their extension 😛 ) IF their stamp expires on a day the immigration office is closed AND they go the very next day it's open they CAN get their extension without being fined for overstay. How's that, better?

That is ANCIENT news from the I/O and was accurate at the time BUT Since they updated the 90 day online system this last time AND had it cross check addresses with the TM30 system, they also made it that you have to apply in person for the 90 day report when it comes due the first time after you come back into the country. Many many people have had their 90 day online rejected with the "must report in person after returning from abroad" reason

there are two completely different visas that will give you a 10 year stay One is the Non-Immigrant Type OX (Long Stay) visa you get from the thai consulate in your country before you come here The other one is the LTR (Long Term Resident) visa you get from the Board of Investment website before you come here Of the two the LTR is a superior one if you can meet the requirements Go here and look at the one for "wealthy pensioner" category. https://ltr.boi.go.th/

Says on the Thai consulate in London you have to be in the UK to apply. Most all consulates you show a flight from your country to Thailand as well

ATTENTION ALL MEMBERS: IMMIGRATION OFFICE CLOSURE JULY 2024 ALL immigration offices in the country are closed on the following days Monday July 22 Monday July 29 IF you have a stamp that expires on a day the immigration office is closed (due to weekend or holiday) and you go the very next day they're open you can get your extension like normal and will not get charged for overstay. Didn't say anywhere that the agent would show up at Chanthaburi immigrations for a certificate of residence The agent would use chonburi to get the certificate of residence BUT many times they can get it with your REAL address (not the b/s chonburi one they used for the extension) How do I know this? A friend in bangkok has an extension from an agent out of an immigration office in Nakhon Nowhere, he needed to get a certificate of residence to renew his d/l, he went to the agent, gave his real bangkok address, they got a hold of the office in Nakhon Nowhere and had a certificate of residence issued with his bangkok address on it 😮 SO I will respectfully disagree with your comment 🙂 Your mileage may vary

You wouldn't except thru the agent that got the extension for you. Most could get a certificate of residence for you with your real address on it.

Just had an acquaintance get a new year extension on an OA visa and I can say with 100% accuracy that the mandatory 100K USD insurance (thru one of the 12 approved thai providers) has not decreased. I didn't say anything about a work permit in my reply 😉 Work permits are issued by the Ministry of Labor and even up in Nakhon Nowhere people can get 2 year work permits. I said EXTENSIONS OF STAYS are only issued for 2 years to BOI/IEAT company employees (and I meant that in Bangkok you get those at the Cham Churi Square OSSC office)

Did they enter on a 14 day entry stamp (the free stamp burmese get)? If so you aren't gonna get any in country visa issued from that stamp as you need a minimum of 15 days left on the stamp to even apply for the in country Non-ED visa You can get a hold of the burma embassy in bangkok, get a letter from them saying they can't go back and with that they can get a 30 day extension based on "embassy request" <- THAT stamp could be converted in country to a 90 day Non-ED visa.

Unless I'm mistaken the only people that can get a 2 year extension based on employment are people who work for BOI/IEAT companies (in bangkok that means you get your extensions at Cham Churi Square One Stop Service Center)

why would you need to? Just pick which place you're going to use for your extensions/90 day reports etc and have a TM30 filed at that place. If you own your own place don't even bother telling them you're moving between them. Just make sure you use the address for stuff where you have the TM30 filed and use the office in that area for what ever you're doing

HCMC used to be the only one in the area that still issued year-long, multi-entry Non-O (with proof of funds) but no reports of anyone getting the year/multi there that I could find. Penang might do it (again with proof of funds) but no reports from there either. I think if that is the visa you want you're gonna hafta just suck it up, set your alarm for 12am and check the system then. I've checked every day this week and you can get a booking for about 5 minutes (on the popular days) until they're booked out but this morning even at 7am there were still bookings for Thurz the 18th (that's because with the holiday Monday you wouldn't get your passport back until Tuesday the 23rd)

It IS gonna interfere with you getting a Non-B visa and/or an extension inside the country 😕 or at least I'm about 99.99% sure it will 😉 Just leaving without a re-entry permit on an "Extension of Stay" (which I would bet is what you had) based on education doesn't "cancel" it by stamping out. While it stamps YOU out of the country it still isn't officially cancelled IN the system and even though the ED visa might have expired while you were out of the country it still isn't 'cancelled' You won't have any issue getting a Non-B outside the country at a thai consulate OR entering the country with an uncancelled ED extension BUT when you go to get the Non-B inside the country or the extension of stay based on employment they'll see that you have an "open" extension and fine you. The fine caps out at 20K baht (just like the overstay fine) and is 500 baht a day for every day. Many people get that fine because they don't understand that ED and employment extensions need to be CANCELLED before you leave the country to "close them out"

If you were rejected one time and went to file in person you WOULDN'T get an email reminder. You only get that for the next report once you do a successful 90 day report SO seeing as you were approved online this time, in 89 days you should get the email Congrats
