  1. 𝗖𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗜 𝗮𝗺 𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗸𝗼𝗸 𝗼𝗻 𝟯𝟬 𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗩𝗢𝗔 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗺𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗸𝗶𝗱. There is no 30 day VOA 😮 So we will go with the premise you showed up here without having bought a visa before you came and you got stamped in FREE for 30 days <- that's not a visa on arrival, that's not a visa at all, just a free 30 day entry stamp 𝗖𝗮𝗻 𝗜 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗡𝗼𝗻-𝗶𝗺𝗺𝗶𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗕 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗮 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗸𝗼𝗸 That totally depends on your EMPLOYER and whether they can meet the requirements to get the in country Non-B visa for you at the immigration office where you work/live. AND if you have enough days left on your current entry stamp to allow time for the processing of the in country Non-Imm visa. Most offices require a minimum of 15 days left on your current stamp (chiang mai requires 21) to apply for any in country Non-Immigrant type visa. That's because it goes under review for 2 weeks and you need to have days left on your stamp to stay during that time so you can go back and get the visa inked in. 𝗠𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗸𝗶𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗲 𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗡𝗼𝗻 𝗜𝗺𝗺𝗶𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗢 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗮. MANY offices make you get the Non-B 90 day visa, then the year extension BEFORE they allow dependents (spouse, children) to get their Non-O visa issued. BUT that is something you need to check with the employer (they should know) or the immigration office you deal with. 𝗜𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗡𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗺𝗺𝗶𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗮 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗮 𝗼𝗿 𝗜 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗳𝗹𝘆 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝘆 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲/𝗻𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗯𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗿𝘆. It might be possible, but the people you need to really talk to are the employer, AND the immigration office you use. You might not have to go back to your country to get the 90 day Non-B visa (although if you did that you could get Non-O visas for your spouse and children at the same time) but you might have to go to a nearby thai consulate and get it. It's down to the employer
  2. As a rule no, you're confusing 90 day reporting <- which has nothing to do with TM30 other than the addresses cross check with a TM30 receipt.
  3. Sadly, the TM30 system is NOT intuitive nor foreign user friendly. I cannot stress enough that people need to go thru the USER GUIDE (english version is available) Also there are you-tube videos out that walk you thru it step by step if you search for them. TM30 ENGLISH USER GUIDE
  4. The people at passport control when you stamp out don't care if you ever filed a TM30 or did a 90 day report That's not their job, they just stamp you out and let you leave
  5. Careful quoting things out of context IF a foreigner is arrested for something else and it comes out they didn't file a 90 day report they CAN be fined 5000baht BUT That's only if they run off the rails with some other thing. I know people who pay the 2000baht late filing fine, file ONE 90 day report just before their yearly extension is due, then never file another report the rest of the year, and the following year, pay the 2000baht, file, get their extension. I saw a passport with years worth of 2000baht fine stamps and year extensions, page after page. While I am not advocating people don't do the 90 day reporting the fine is static <-meaning it's 2000baht whether you're 8 days late or 8 months late
  6. Great Example 👍 Since they did the upgrade to the system (again), they did change the "window of opportunity" when you can use the ONLINE 90 day reporting system You can do it from 2 weeks BEFORE down until 1 week BEFORE the actual due date. I have read at least several hundred posts on the inter-web since they did this last upgrade to the system of people now being rejected for outside the window to apply, for mis-match TM30/TM47 addresses AND for the new rule of having to file in person the first time when you return from abroad. Now if you're getting the rejection saying the entry date or stay date isn't matching, use the drop down to select the dates, and just keep at it. Someone was rejected online 9 times but when they filed the 10th time <- with the exact same information, they got approved Also take ANYTHING an immigration officer at the 90 day reporting in person window tells you about why it was rejected with a grain of salt, they don't approve online stuff, they have no dog in the fight and more times than not they'll just make up an answer.
  7. Just so everyone is clear what you want from the new TM30 system. There is no b/s screen grab like we used to have to do on the old TM30 system once it was filed This new system lets you log in, select the address, fill out the info to file a TM30, save the data, search for the data, recall it, and EXPORT it <-which gives a PDF file showing a TM30 was filed. Now you can even search for a previously filed TM30 for up to 15 days (before it was only a week) This is what you want from your hotel, landlord, if you use the system yourself, at the end of the day THIS is your proof you filed a TM30
  8. Personally I would get them both tourist visas (TR60) from the thai consulate in your home country before you wing your way here That gives you all 60 days when you show up (with the option to get a 30 day extension for 1900baht at the immigration office if you need more time), which should be plenty of time for you to get the documentation from the school, get the daughter enrolled, get her to the immigration office apply for the ED visa. Most offices require a minimum of 15 days left on your current stamp to do in country conversions from visa exempt or tourist visa entries to a 90 day Non-Immigrant type visa (Chiang Mai requires you have 21 days or more left on the stamp (actually 15 business days but that's about 21 real days) Once you get here get the bank account open in your wife's name and get the 500K baht in it. She should be able to apply for the 90 day Non-O visa based on being the parent of a child on an ED visa once your child actually GETS the ED visa <-some offices make the parent wait until the child has the year extension AFTER the initial 90 day ED visa before they can get the 90 day Non-O so check with your office to see how they do it. The good news is the 500K baht only needs to be "seasoned" in the account for 30 days for the first yearly extension based on parent of a foreign child AND most offices will let you apply for the initial 90 day Non-Imm type O visa just by showing the 500K is in the account (no seasoning required for the initial 90 day visa)
  9. correct, at this time with the two systems interlinked and cross checking addresses IF you stay some place where you're registered in the system and don't re-file a new TM30 when you go back to your primary address, you'll get rejected because the last address you were registered in the TM30 system is the place you stayed not your primary residence. We're seeing hundreds of people getting rejected for their 90 day reporting for trying to do it online after returning from abroad, AND from the mismatch of them staying some place in country where they were registered and not refiling after they got home
  10. that you registered a few years ago doesn't count, you need to make a NEW registration in this new system using the "register" tab AND by reading the user manual you can select you're thai or a foreigner to register in the new system
  11. No problem at all, happens all the time You show both passports when you come in to the country. The immigration officer at passport control will stamp you in to the country on the new passport noting you had an extension/re-entry permit in the old passport Then you go to your immigration office after that to get the stamps transferred to the new passport
  12. The Tm47 90 day reporting system AND the new TM30 (notification of foreigner in residence) system now cross check each other for address matching IF you stay at a hotel that registers you into the TM30 system (which most hotels/guest houses do) then when you come back home you need to file a new TM30 You should enroll in the new TM30 online system, then you can file a TM30 in just a few minutes online and print the confirmation that you're registered at your address. This is the website to apply for a login password on the TM30 system Since they started the address matching between the systems HUNDREDS of people all over the country are getting their 90 day online reports rejected because they stayed some place in country that registered them and then didn't re-file a new TM30 when they got back home https://tm30.immigration.go.th
  13. Now that the TM30 system AND the TM47 (90 day online system) cross check each other it seems more and more offices are requiring that you file a NEW TM30 when you return to thailand from abroad. Also the online system was recently updated and HUNDREDS of people have been denied 90 day online with the rejection reason "First 90 day report after returning from abroad must be made in person" and when those people were doing their 90 day report they were asked for a new TM30 😕 It would appear they want everyone on the NEW TM30 system <- the one where you file, then can export the PDF file that shows you have a TM30 filed. They were sending people away who had the old "screen grabs" from the previous TM30 system and telling them to register in the new system, file and print that PDF Which looks like this
  14. You say you're in Chiang Mai, so get on the inter-web and look for cheap round trip tickets, Viet Jet, Air Asia, etc Even if you burned both your 30 day entries by land (and took 30 day extensions on them too) you're unlikely to have any issue at all stamping in at CNX. Hands down it's the easiest airport to get in at.
  15. Ummm sorry there at15, but Chiang Mai airport is the EASIEST of the bigger international airports to get in to (no matter what your previous entry history is) 😮 There are NO <- read that as ZERO confirmed denial of entries that I can find anywhere on the tiny part of the inter-web that relates to thailand. Not even a single one
  16. careful broad brushing like that Angus55 😮 there are a LOT of people pulled aside at BOTH Don Mueang and Suvarnabhumi who entered by air, took their two 30 day land bounces, thought they'd fly out an back by air only to get denied entry and shipped out. PLUS the O/P said they are in CHIANG MAI 😉
  17. In theory the way that works is you get your new passport and you go to the immigration office that issued the extension to move the stamps BEFORE you wing your way out of the country. I know if you have a multi-entry VISA <- that you got from a thai consulate you show both passports when you exit/re-enter (because they can't move a visa to a new passport) BUT you don't have a visa, you have a yearly extension w/re-entry permit and I don't believe you can fly out showing both passports when you have a year extension/re-entry permit in the old one, (although I freely admit I could be wrong).
  18. Send him to the immigration office to get a 30 day extension added to his 30 day visa exempt entry OR Send him to the immigration office to apply for an extension based on medical reasons (with the documentation from the hospital/treating doc) If he shows up at the airport to stamp out on overstay (no matter what the reason) he's going to get fined. That "I have a doctors note" doesn't work for overstay, it works to get a extension based on medical reasons BEFORE you run on overstay.
  19. The government complex station is a semi shaded ten minute walk from CW 😮 Actually you can walk to the mouth of Chaengwattana Soi 7 and catch the free shuttle busses that run and take you to the north entrance of building B The shuttle bus station is right after the moto guyz at the mouth of C/W Soi 7 <- the entrance soi to the gov't complex Another way to get there is to take the BTS to Wat Phra Sri Mahathat and then instead of switching to the pink line just go out exit 1 take a taxi for 50 baht to the door of Building B
  20. The way the 90 day reporting rule works IS If you're still in thailand on the 90th day you report, end of story. There is no grace period, no nothing, you either have to report or you don't Now with that being said, if you don't do anything and just fly out, no one is gonna say anything to you at passport control when you stamp out, nor will they say anything to you when you stamp back in They COULD catch it on the next 90 day report you do after you come back (which will be due 89 days from the date you stamp back in) and they might see you failed to report last time before you left the country and fine you the 2000baht fine for failure to file a 90 day report on time. Good news is even if they do catch you and fine you the fine is always just 2000baht and doesn't go up, so not the end of the world Personally I'd say, follow the rules, you can report in person from 2 weeks before the due date until 1 week after so get it done before you fly out but I will leave it to you to decide your course of action
  21. We're seeing more and more visa run companies put up notices on their websites that they won't run to Savannakhet anymore It seems FEW people are actually getting the available bookings which come up at between 12 and 2 am every day. Plus they only let you book 14 days in advance so tonight when the open up the 27th will be the only day that opens. There does appear to be a few companies that are able to get bookings for Savannakhet though Sadly because Savannakhet went to 400K baht in a thai bank account for 2 months before you apply for the year/multi-Non-O based on marriage AND went to 3 day processing (2 business days after the day you apply) there's almost no advantage to go there, you might as well go to Vientiane, and it's way easier to get appts there
  22. You shouldn't have any issue bouncing out and back at 6PM using the Nong Khai Friendship bridge with Lao.
  23. Okay this is how 90 day reporting really works (whether it was your experience or not) You can apply for a 90 day report in person from 2 weeks before down until 1 week after the due date with no fine, BUT That does not mean if you leave within a week of your report being due you have a 'grace period' and don't report. The rule is written that if you're in thailand on the 90th day you are obligated to report. However with that being said, the people at passport control stamping you out of the country don't care in the least if you EVER filed a 90 day report or not (it's not their job). You won't face any scrutiny stamping out of thailand and back in when you return about not having filed a 90 day report within the prescribed time frame Your next 90 day report will be due 89 days from the date you stamp back IN to the country, <- and it's at that time they might catch you failed to report on time for the previous 90 day report and they could fine you 2000baht before they let you file again. Chances are they won't catch it when you come back and go to do the next 90 day report and you won't be fined but just wanted you to know that is a possibility. The up side is the fine is 2000 baht and doesn't increase. So if they do catch that you didn't file on time before leaving it's just the 2000baht
  24. Ahhh there we go, you are "reverse bouncing" and would NEVER see a problem coming from that way, until you hit your two land entries per year (if you're from a country that is limited like that) and get told you can't enter by land but have to fly It's the people who live IN thailand that have the issue bouncing out back to continue staying in thailand at that border 😛
  25. Just go to Nong Khai and use the main border with Lao up there at the friendship bridge
