Up in Chiang Rai the only borders open are the ones with the Lao border Chiang Khong/Huay Xai Chiang Saen/SEZ (Special Economic Zone) The ONLY border with burma that's open for foreigners to bounce out and back at is the one in Ranong at the pier where you bounce by boat to Kawthaung Burma These are the CLOSED borders Mae Sai/Tachileik Chiang Rai Mae Sot/Myawaddy Tak Phu Nam Ron/Htee Khee Kanchanaburi

Umm the Auzzie embassy here in thailand hasn't provided the stat dec for income from abroad since Dec 2018 😮 so this is not a new issue (although it might be new for you) You put 400K baht in a thai bank account in your name only for 2 months before you apply for the year extension at your immigration office Some offices won't even accept 40K baht by monthly income for marriage visa/extensions anymore unless you get that money by legally working inside thailand So even transferring in 40K baht a month each month every month for the previous year won't get you a visa/extension at some offices anymore

you are indeed at least a little mixed up 😉 YES you can bounce out and back to get a 60 day free entry stamp at that border, yes you can do an out/in without issue at that border (meaning you don't need to stay IN cambodia overnight) As people said you will BUY a visa on arrival to cambodia when you get to the border, they'll put it in your passport, mark it used, then stamp you in to cambodia, you turn around, stamp out and come right back to thailand

right your report was rejected because the first 90 day report after returning from abroad now has to be made in person. AFAIK there aren't any services that do door to door 90 day reporting, 😕 You can slog on over to Bumrungrad Hospital 10th floor business center, they'll do a 90 day report for you for 650 baht and then you pick up your passport from them a few days later

You certainly would be able to get a 60 day visa exempt entry (if you're one of the 90+ countries on the list) at a land border as long as you picked the correct border to bounce out and back at As in DO NOT try to bounce out/back at the Aranyaprathet/Poipet border 🙂

yep, you should get stamped in until the current insurance you have expires (just like it says on your PDF eVisa) and when you get the new policy you EXIT/RE-ENTER the country to get a new year entry stamp (or as long as your new insurance is valid for up to a year)

They most likely won't say a single thing to you about being on a DTV now I mean worst case you tell the truth you went back to the UK for an emergency and you got the DTV instead of a Non-O Come on in and enjoy the 5 year visa 👍

Unless you come from a country whose embassy here issues the affidavit of income from abroad notary letter ( which the UK, the US, and Australia no longer do) you cannot use monthly income to get the 90 day Non-O visa or get the first year extension 2 months after that you can only use the monthly income by 65k baht a month transfers for the SECOND year of your yearly extension. The rule is you need to transfer in 65K baht a month, each month, every month for the previous 12 months.

Totally good plan of attack 👍 Make sure once you're here to go over to Khon Kaen and get the hand out listing the requirements for the in country 90 day Non-O visa (which costs 2000baht). THEN Once you get the Non-O and new 90 day stamp inked in get the hand out listing the requirements for the in country year extension of stay (which costs 1900baht) That way you know the documentation, copies, bank letter, bank book updating, TM30, map etc you need for what you're doing

NO, if you buy a 90 day single entry, you get stamped in ONE time for 90 days. A re-entry permit does not ADD time to that 90 days, just lets you exit/re-enter DURING that time and still get the 90 day expiration date on the stamp. You need to buy the year-long, multi-entry Non-O visa which is unlimited entry during the whole year the visa is valid for

It's 20 baht to get a Kor Ror 2 printed at ANY amphur in the country. (as long as you were married AFTER the started digitizing the data 😛 ) I had one person married 20 years ago and their info was not in the data base, so they had to go back to the Amphur in Nakhon Nowhere where they were married, have the clerk find the actual hard copy, upload it and then it was in the data base 😛

go to Vientiane or Savannakhet and get the 90 day single entry Non-O based on marriage to a thai. There are no proof of funds to get that visa THEN come back in, get the 400K baht in a thai bank account in your name only for 2 months before you apply for the yearly extension at the immigration office There's no way around banking the funds here if you're going for a year extension and you come from a country whose embassy doesn't issue the affidavit of income notary (which the brit consulate here does NOT do)

I looked and looked and couldn't find a single confirmed report of anyone going to the HCMC thai consulate to get a year long, multi-entry Non-O visa based on marriage to a thai since the covid sh*t-show ended and the countries opened back up 😕 In fact I could only find ONE confirmed report of someone getting a 90 day single entry there I'd say CALL them (they speak english just fine) and ask OR resign yourself to slogging to Savannakhet <- remember they now require you show 400K baht in a thai bank account in your name only for 2 months before you apply for the year/multi Non-O

How about you LOOK on the eVisa PDF they sent you when you got the visa issued and read the valid until or must enter before date? That visa is good for unlimited entries for the validity (a year from the date of issue) and each entry gets you stamped in for a whole new year (or as long as your mandatory insurance is valid for up to a year) If it was valid FROM Nov 2023, you have until Nov 2024 to enter the country and get a NEW year entry stamp. You will need to carry a new year of the mandatory 100K USD health insurance to get another year entry stamp but shouldn't have any issue showing up before the VISA itself expires and getting stamped in

Neither thai consulate in Lao (Vientiane or Savannakhet) will issue year long multi-entry Non-O based on thai child, with or without the proof of funds, it is NOT a visa they offer and have never offered it. Most people were just pulling single entry Non-O for 90 days, taking the in country 60 day extension based on visit thai family from immigrations for 1900baht and then going to get a new 90 day single entry Non-O. I know people who did that for years and years. Even though it is not listed on the consulates websites, both Vientiane and Savannakhet WILL issue year-long, multi-entry Non-O visas based on marriage to a thai with proof of 400K baht in a thai bank account in your name for 2 months before you apply.

ATTENTION ALL MEMBERS: Unless I'm mistaken this is the FIRST Destination Thailand Visa issued by Vientiane Thai Consulate. . This one was for being employed abroad but wanting to live here (work-cation/remote worker category) they said they supplied exactly what was listed on the website and were not asked for any additional documents Congratulations to the applicant..

were you on any type of Non-Immigrant visa (O, ED, etc)? That border and a few others charge people more to bounce out/back from those visa types than people on tourist or visa exempt entries

The work permit has nothing to do with it. If he has a non-b Visa or extension and he leaves the country without a re-entry permit when he comes back to Thailand he loses the previous stamp he had before and will be stamped in free for 60 days. Even going to those casinos in no man's land Cambodia stamps you out of Thailand and into Cambodia. Leave Thailand without a re-entry entry permit and you cancel what you were allowed to be here on.

When you apply for the year extension from the initial 90 day Non-B that you will get from a thai consulate, you will get a 30 day under consideration stamp AND if you need to leave during that time you need a re-entry permit BUT remember that permit will ONLY be valid until the under consideration stamp runs out. <- meaning you need to be back IN country on or before that date to get the year extension inked in

^^^ That above email from the Thai Consulate in HCMC is a perfect reason that people need to go to the consulate they're going to apply for the DTV at and READ the requirements carefully. As you can see this consulate requires you show a balance of 500K baht for the previous 6 months (or that's how I read that) where as some consulates only require you have 500K baht IN the account when you apply The Thai consulates around the world are free to set their own requirements for this visa. I think you have some of your wires crossed. Either that or I'm mis-remembering what you posted You needed to go to the immigration office and CANCEL your current extension BEFORE you left the country (just stamping out on it doesn't cancel an extension) You should have taken that paperwork from your old employer to the immigration office, cancelled the Non-B extension of stay (you weren't on any visa). The immigration office would have cancelled it effective the date on the paperwork, THEN you could have left the country without an "open extension" in your passport I guess you bounced out and back to Cambodia and came back into thailand, right? If you did that on the 26th of July you would have gotten stamped in on a FREE entry stamp of 60 days (have you looked at the stamp in your passport?) There is no 30 day visa on arrival for thailand and after the 15th of July everyone entering thailand on free entry stamps gets 60 days not 30 How about you look at the entry stamp you got when you re-entered thailand to see how many days you were really stamped in for? Now as far as you going to another country and getting a new Non-B visa, you shouldn't have any issue getting the visa from a nearby thai consulate (watch the processing times and whether you need a booked online appt to get in the gate). You also won't have any issue getting IN to thailand on that new Non-B Visa at all, you'll get stamped in for 90 days However when you go for the year extension, and they see you didn't cancel that extension from the previous employer, you can/will have issues and get fined for not following the real rules about how it's supposed to be done. Also in order for you to apply for the Non-B visa the employer gives you a paper from the Ministry of Labour that states they applied for a work permit for you. THEN you come in, get the work permit issued, wait until you have 30 days or less left on your new 90 day Non-B visa entry stamp and apply for the year extension. You are correct, getting a re-entry permit will keep your stamp "alive" <- although it will NOT add more time to your current stamp it will let you exit/re-enter and get the same expiration date. As far as the work permit, that's between you and your employer.
