People aren't being honest with themselves. Just admit it if you had infinite money you would have a nice house back home and you would be spending less time in Thailand complaining about things on internet forums. Maybe you wouldn't even be in Thailand at all.

The newscasters agree people already know this but they don't say it! That's why Thailand gets the corrupt police they have. It's their "culture" to ignore corruption and keep their heads down. Serves them right. Ironically the reason he's in trouble is probably because one of his enemies knew the head police in Pai and leveraged that. No way they would make a national story out of it otherwise.

I refuse to believe UK is as bad as expats make it sound. I've never been before but I'm certain of this. Sure if you're broke and retired maybe it sucks but if you're secure and have a good home in a good area it looks pretty nice to me. Chiang Mai looks like an industrial hellscape right now. Those newscasters watched a propaganda video with out of context clips made by one of the many enemies he made in Pai. What they don't know is there was a Thai woman helping him build the house which he called "mama June". Shocking for a country that calls everyone mom, dad, uncle regardless of actual family relations. What they also didn't didn't see was his endless gushing over Thailand and how great it is, how grateful he is etc... Lesson is before you make enemies in Thailand make sure you're squeaky clean on social media. For many of us here if we made enemies and they found what we said on this forum then reported it to the media we would be deported too. I can think of some members in particular that are ruthless critics of the Thai government, 100x more than Tom and with a years of records as proof.

He also gushed about how much he loved Thailand constantly and that was the mass majority of his opinion on Thailand. Also not shown is his ranting against the UK. He's clearly on team Thailand and always has been.

He had some very vulgar stuff about gay sex mixed in to his videos. He crashed his bike and the nurses had to clean the wounds weekly so he called the nurse a <deleted> once for hurting him. Very pathetic way to behave but he did apologize eventually. This guy has emotional problems for sure.

I started watching him because I wanted to see if that business is going to work. He's paying like 150k/month for the mortgage but i don't see how you can make that up selling weed. He didn't even know about the low season and how dead it gets. To spend 5 mil on a house in a country you haven't lived in one year is crazy.

how so? It's a tourist ghetto for a particular type of person. My brother had a business there for nearly 10 years and says the police are corrupt and do favors for cash. Politicians are corrupt too and do favors also. Stupid place to live imo.

He just needs to leave Pai. He's totally angered them and made lots of enemies. Impressive work for being in Thailand less than 1 year. For people asking what he said it's not about that. He made enemies and they dug up dirt on him. The police are probably corrupt too and doing favors for their friends.

My only criticism of Thomas is that he moved into the only place in Thailand that is totally dominated by libtards. Literally the worst place you could be if those people bother you. If you want to see "over tourism" Pai is great example. Doesn't feel like Thailand even.

Of course even Thai people agree. Does the "go home" crowd understand Thai people aren't 100% happy with every aspect of their country too? IMO 99% of the things expats complain about totally reasonable and things all civilized countries are doing anyways. Moreover we're complaining about our countries also and it goes both ways. If you don't like complaining why be here posting in the first place?

He's not very emotionally stable but I appreciate his enthusiasm for his project. It seems within days of arriving in Pai he picked fights with the community, called everyone libtards and they eventually took him down. Having a competing business is a way to get in trouble too. It was all very entertaining. Bottom line is Pai is a retarded place to live. The expats totally dominate the culture and even the Thai people there are questionable. They've ruined a lovely valley sadly.

A major purpose of this forum is so expats can share their feelings and complain. Maybe instead of us leaving Thailand you should leave the expat forum?

all he ever did was state the problems he had hiring Thai staff. He upset the Pai community is the real reason for the witch hunt.

He also routinely called the existing Pai expat population libtards. He went on a crusade of sorts against them. That's why I was watching his channel and being entertained. I lived in Pai for 1 year in 2005 and it's 100x worse now than it was then.

Look at all the top comments on the PPTV video. Thai people know this is BS too. The actual problem seems to be the Pai police. What's more likely is Tom pissed off the wrong people in Pai and now they've got the corrupt Pai to go after him. TIT

One more point on the PPTV video above. He talked about how he was going to pay off the police if it comes to that. Even the newscasters admit Thai people know this happens but they don't talk about. He probably just pissed off the local police by running his mouth. Something to learn from. So here's a summary of his crimes: 1) Thinks Thai people are lazy workers. 2) Thinks Thai police are corrupt. Any Thai person that doesn't think the same needs their head checked.

He said very tame things about the work ethnic of Thai people. Honest criticism that ANY person has when hiring Thai people. Instead of being babies Thailand should understand they have a problem and try to fix it. Only losers and failures can't take constructive criticism.
