Trump under investigation for potential violations of Espionage Act
NorthernRyland replied to Scott's topic in World News
Trump at least had the capacity to play hard ball with other countries. If it was on the table he would have said something like "why are we letting these people from <deleted> hole countries buy land in America when they won't give us the same deal in their country". Maybe that would backfire but I can at least see him putting pressure on this SE Asian countries and getting something in return for us. Compare that with the democrats who would go the opposite direction and tell us we need to take the Thai's as refugees and give them free school, health care etc... all at tax payer expense. It's a clear choice in my eyes and no I don't care Trump was a dick or said stupid things so don't bother. -

Many races are tight. You just need to corrupt those and you get the entire state. Again, vectors for fraud such be kept to a minimum. Yeah well there are at least 2 Americas and they don't agree with you. Did you see the rallies Trump had? Massive and he held them the entire 4 years. He was a rock star. -

it's terribly shortsighted. The bigger picture here is that the regime in Washington has purged a political rival. They'll do the same thing next time a legit left wing populist emerges and then the liberals will be crying about the corrupt FBI etc... etc... just like they used to before Trump came around. -

Answer the question. Tell us about how more empowered women of color and "undocumented Americans" and whatever other nonsense they talk about helps a retired white guy in Thailand. If you're going to shill for a political party you should at least get something from them. -

of course everyone knows that and what conspiracy theory did I posit? all I said is I don't trust them and more vectors for fraud are a problem. Anything that would happen would be at the state level. My bottom is that they had it out for Trump since day 1 and never stopped going after him for a second until they culminated in a raid on his house. There's no way they are going to let him run again and a little voter fraud is just a means to an end. The bigger question is why you retired guys are shilling so hard for democrats? What are you trying to get from them? At least I save a few thousand dollars because of Trump but democrats offer literally nothing at best and at worst more taxes and immigrants. Makes no sense to me. -

Can someone please explain why I would want to vote for them? At least Trump gave me some minor tax cut but all they offer is "free" government services that they never deliver on and would be terrible anyways and then higher taxes to pay for illegal immigrants and various victim groups. Lots of gay stuff also. Great. I can't see how a bunch of old white guys in Thailand would care about this nonsense. -

yes I know. That's the problem. I don't trust these people and this process of "anything can happen after the polls close, it's settled etc..." is not good enough. This will sow seeds of distrust for millions of people and backfire on the Democrats eventually. -

All anyone keeps saying is that it has been debunked. I didn't watch hours of court cases, how does this work? Tell me how can verify the signature and whether the ballot was actually sent before polls closed. There are millions of them to be accounted for and limited personal counting. And another thing if you can vote and have the election results changed overnight while you're sleeping this is disqualifying by itself. I'm not gonna waste time voting (I didn't vote in 2020 btw) if boxes of ballots can just appear and I'm told to shut up for questioning where all these came from. Every election could be rigged going forward and we'll be told the question was settled in 2020 so shut and accept the results. OK I've ranted enough. Mail in ballots are just one more reason you're a sucker for voting in US elections. -

No way, are you kidding? How do you even verify the person filled out the ballot? All they have is a signature and what are they comparing this against? There is no national database of signatures and there's not enough man power to carry this out. You could just print up the ballot and fill one out for another person then deliver it to the counters in the morning after you counted up the ballots needed to win. -

all I know is that Trump was winning when I went to bed and when I woke up the election had swung. If I saw that pattern in another country I would assume it was fraud but there's this sense in the US that "it can't happen here, that's what happens in 3rd world countries" etc... I wouldn't put it past the regime in Washington of course. Personally I don't see the point in voting with mail in ballots. You should get to vote during open hours while on video and when the polls close that's it. Count all the votes before everyone goes home and call it a day. As it is now boxes of ballots can show up in the middle of the night, or whenever and we have to take their word they are valid. Americans don't trust the system enough at this point to conduct elections this way. -

US is not there YET but it's getting very close now. The US regime in Washington is now arresting their political adversaries. We're always crying about little laws politicians break but they never seem to be punished until it's a figure like Trump. What do non-Americans think of the last election where the outcome completely changed in the morning after un counted ballots came in after polls closed and people were sleeping? All of this sounds like some 3rd world country to me. I wouldn't be surprised one bit if some kind of coup happens in one of the following elections. -

Trump is like Thaksin who got too close to the seat of power in Thailand. The American regime simply will not accept unapproved candidates who are outside the Washington clique of Republicans and Democrats (aka the Uni-party). -

Biden like most politicians is essentially an employee of a larger organization. buildbackbetter.com goes to Whitehouse.gov. -

Are you saying I can't get rich by going on vacation and letting people watch? I'm shocked. -
Hey guys, so the today these did indeed approve me visa without a return ticket out of Thailand (I only provided a roundtrip ticket leaving and then returning to Thailand. This was the L.A embassy in case anyone wants to know if the future. I would say this was less hassle than appearing in person in Chiang Mai and waiting for at least 2 hours then returning again in 2 weeks and spending even more time. Less paper work also which was nice. In the receipt PDF they didn't say I needed to send in my passport so I assume (as was mentioned) I can simply present this at immigration entering the country and they will give me the stamp there. Right?
-
Well I already paid their $80 fee but I'm going to get rejected I think because I didn't provide a return ticket even though they asked for it. There was some other field which was N/A so I thought they may let the return ticket go also. I'm getting a 12 month extension anyways so this plane ticket is unfair and necessary.
-
Darn it again. I thought it would be easier doing it online than waiting in line at immigration but having to buy insurance will be a problem. Btw, I'm applying for the visa on the basis of marriage to Thai national and I didn't see any insurance requirement on the form I submitted so maybe that only applies for retired folks?

I'm trying to apply for a non-O in the US and used the https://thaievisa.go.th website since I thought that was the new system since COVID (I used it to get a COE last year). It's been 1 week already and they haven't responded so I'm actually curious now, is this the correct way even? I will be sending my passport to the LA embassy since it's closest to me (Colorado) so I referenced their website but notice the DC website doesn't mention anything about doing it online and just provides a download link. https://thaiconsulatela.thaiembassy.org/en/publicservice/non-o-family-member https://thaiembdc.org/consular-services/non-immigrant-visas/non-immigrant-visa-category-o/ Anyone have any experience doing this recently and does it just take more than 1 week? Also one other question if anyone may know. The LA page said proof of ticket TO Thailand which I provided but the online system required me to enter a return flight also, which I don't have because I'm planning to do my 12 month extension once there. I just put in a random date but there's reason to believe they would reject me for this. Has anyone applied with the non-O via this system and not provided the return ticket?

Deposit the 400k and keep it there for 2 months and then spend it since you're in Thailand and you need money anyways. Next year top it off. Rinse and repeat.
