Where to find a girl friend in Thailand?
Elkski replied to Hummin's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I have considered this. She seems fine with the current government as do most Thais. We disagree on this. I can live life in the village to the surprise and celebration of many. My wife lived in BKK 20 years so she had realized many of the unsanitary practices and dangerous meal choices before I came along. Now she has seen and been amazed at how cars stop for pedestrians, clean smooth sidewalks, not very much litter, I have worked hard to teach her proper food temp control which maybe an overkill as I've seen them leave food out for 2 days and eat it and not get sick. I once returned to a south American sheep herders wagon to eat some fish I brought but instead we ate the remains of the lamb we cooked the night before that had just been stored in the saddle box for 20 hours. Or seeing him eat unrefrigerated chicken stored in the same place for 3-4 days. He did a smell test but I didn't partake. -
The USA and Canada basically said the Johnson and Johnson 1 shot was not safe as to many side effects. And not as effective as moderna or Pfizer. It was svut down quickly and only a small % got the jnj. Luckily I didn't get any side effects. As was suggested by the US government an exception was made that if you had the J&J you could go to front of line and get a good shot no matter your age. This was when they were queuing people for 2nd and booster shots based on age and risk. I don't think Thailand really cares much about if this ruling works or not. They just care to look like they care about Thailand's people while at the same time kissing china's <deleted>. If they allow sinovac they have shown they don't use science or have any brains that are educated. I'm sure in that meeting the subordinates were dying knowing what the fallout of their foolish leaders edict would be. But I'm sure afraid to voice their objections as this is the Thai schooling and mentality.

Where to find a girl friend in Thailand?

I had good luck finding many nice older Thai women on okcupid and TF from 2016-2019. At first I was stupid and I was only looking for sililar age to -10 years. There were many 45-50 yr old professionals, teachers, directors, commodity traders, loan sharks and resold government land?, government employees, even a real top dog in BKK health dept. Rich widows who had sworn off Thai men(is this std lie) and wanted to find a partner before it was to late. Many could retire and get 50% salary for life with health insurance. The health worker turned me off by her elitest attitude towards waitresses and everyone plus to short and not in my slot I decided. She barked orders because she was used to having the red carpet treatment wherever she went. Her brother had one of those older houses in Bangkok right between all the high rise buildings and could speak English well. Some had lots of wealth, house or houses, apartment buildings, cars, trucks, land. The trader worked deals worth billions in gold or oil but she hardly had time to give toe plus out of my slot upon further inspection. All her family seemed rich. Before the big BKK flood she had a water company with 500 employees. Many had friends who had good relationships with falang or they saw happy relationships on FB. A couple I'm sure I could have scammed out of some money if that was my intent. After talking online for weeks, months or days when we met it was like an old friend. I broke a few hearts. Fit non smoking, not heavy drinker, no gambling men are rare apparently. I even had a few help me get to the airport, MRT, BTS, bus to go to my next adventure. Some I had to come visit again and again. At 55-58 during this time I was being coached by a couple TVisa experienced guys I was confiding in. They said that 27 was the perfect age. My oldest daughters age. I did expand my range down to 35. I always kept looking for the one. No rush as they say 1000 more awaiting and that's how I felt. One day I was walking on the BTS platform at emporium and saw a group taking pictures against the big blue bear Xmas display Jan 2nd 2019. 2 girls and man. She was wearing tomish clothes like she prefers so it must have been her white perfect smile or face that I saw from 50feet. In mid stride I turned left and walked right up to the group. I was being respectful to the man and talking to him mostly until I could risk talking to the one I liked after I was pretty sure she wasn't his girlfriend . My now wife says he was gay and she thought I was too. I Did find out the 2 gals were co workers and what business and name they worked at nearby. She thought it odd that I asked to take her picture. She wouldn't give me her line. A few days later I showed up and the two coworkers were all happy to see me. Then I was able to get her line. It is a real commitment to try to get to know these good girls. She didn't party, drink, go out, smoke or have children at 40. Her body was in the center of my slot. Her face and smile very pleasant to me. Her dark and perfectly smooth isaan skin didn't need any more snake oil whitening products for me. These gals work 6 days a week, 10-12 hour days and on Sunday need to rest and so laundry and iron uniforms for the week. It's hard to get to spend time with them. They can't meet up till 8pm and since they need to be going to work at 7:30 you feel guilty if it's later than 11pm. 2 weeks later she had a took an extra day off so we had 2 days to go to hua hin. First time she wore a bikini in public she says. And mostly kept her wrap on. On the beach all the porky foreign women were waddling around or walrusing in thongs. 7 return trips the next 2 years to see her only but one explore in VN. She was playing games and that straightened her up. Hundreds of hours on line between visits. After we last visited Jan 2020 I flew home after having COVID Jan 2-7, 5 days post transit through Shanghai. And I knew I had to be with her. K1 visa took from Feb 2020 until may 2021 due to trump and the embassy dip he appointed plus a bit if a delay from COVID. So instead of 264day avg our visa took like 460 days. If I just woukd have married her July 2019 trip and started a CR1 she would have been in USA 10 minths later. It's not all golden as she doesn't always have the English vocabulary to tell me what's going on. Different cultures. I sometimes say she knows less than a 10 yr old American girl. It takes Patience. She didn't know how to use , garbage disposal, sectric can opener, oven, gas bbq grill, food processor, many tools a 3 yr old knows how to use. She is liking life in America. And this 6 week trip to Thailand and isaan is reminding her of the <deleted> she left behind. -
We all know they are floppers. Just imagine howany hours travel agents wasted and now all this extra work to communicate and refund to their customers. Many will not book customers to Thailand again. It will be easy for them to point out the crime, deadly roads, dual price gouging to redirect their customers to a cleaner safer democratic travel destination. Might as well rename this hole to chiland

A flat roof does let you tilt the solar panels to best angle and cleaning woykd be real easy if you also had a rooftop patio with some stairs. 1 house in chaingmai we visited the roof top was a great sunset nightcap place with friends. It had privacy and some nice views of the sunset. It did require and have railings.

317 die, 2,437 injured on Thai roads during 7-day New Year holiday

How does this compare to 2019 or if a more recent year wasn't changed by COVID. -
Glad we brought our vax cards so Cambodia should let us come back in. I can say I haven't missed the Chinese tourists this past month. Some people are going to have to figure this out. What if I was unvaxed or no records on hand and spending a few day in a nearby country as part of my vacation. If flight back was Tuesday what then. Unvaxed people who have non changeable flights after Monday?

It is obvious your a CADD man. I was talking to a dating site to an interior designer in Malaysia. Our LDR was more on home design as I was doing a project. She told me I could get a 3D work up walk through cad made for just a few hundred USD 6 years ago 2018

Power on the island cat 6. I like the idea of being able to pass or grab dirty dishes directly through onto the counter. I think you will use and store more things ( dust, bug free) inside rather than in the Thai kitchen. I did think quite a bit about pool bathroom situation. Looks ok from function but not sure you want a wet front entry inside. A deal entry toilet and sink? If tile gets wet Wife can keep the front entry clean or a good mat. Look at the tiles slippery rating when wet. The rankings mean not always easy to detect in salesroom. Outdoor shower? Oh I forget I hate flat roofs because they require craftsmanship and perfect weather to apply properly. When they leak and I bet big it with in time. Also 40 solar panels with 4-8 holes each?

Travel insurance warning after Welshman's motorbike crash
Elkski replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
When I looked into motorcycle insurance coverage 4 years ago for travel the requirements were a motorcycle addendum to your home country license, an international license which seemed redundant and just a money maker for AAA. I do have a addendum and git an international tag 4 years ago but didn't use it. This time I figured less chance to die if I'm not driving on the wrong side of the road. There may have been a CC scooter limit. I use geo blue for travel Insurance and you pay for planned days out of country. Wish I could have stopped USA coverage for the travel time. I wou6have made money. I admit even though in early Dec I knew COVID had a chance to affect me I didn't read if I'm covered for covid. I got above basic coverage and it was about 85$/ mo. -
It seemed like a credible story. He doesn't feel rich as he pointed out with several expenses he had to explain and contend with. Out of country tuition, frequent flight costs. No decent man can't plan for his spouse to visit mom every so often. Does anyone dispute things have changed for the worst since his early days what 25 years ago? He also pointed out that his wife is on track to become a benifiting resident. His child has a dual citizenship, language and decent education. He also mentioned condos were not as liquid as he expected.

I did notice even after thinking heade good money, umpteen businesses later he finds himself at 60 having to worry about cost of travel back and forth to Thailand. It's hard for many of us to know if we have enough to support our unknown life span. Airfare or lifetime maximum miles per person may be a thing.

Bosch SDS plus rotary hammer polarity matter?
Elkski replied to Elkski's topic in The Electrical Forum
If I had a lit work bench, cleaner, grease, tools I would take it all apart. It probably needs bearings. I do think a new tool is a good idea. Currently borrowing one to finish a demo in bathroom. Wish I had my selection of SDS bits. Oh well. It was a tool that probably had issues at his old job. Yes it's dirty. He does need one but I think one of his helpers when he pours cement owns this one. They tie in the skabs to the house with like 1/4 dowels. Not rebar, no texture so small. And the mesh they use in the slab is so thin. -

Bosch SDS plus rotary hammer polarity matter?
Elkski replied to Elkski's topic in The Electrical Forum
Well I finally cleaned it enough to see the model number . It's a GBH -2-26 tried to find new brushes but came home with ones not exact. Seemed like it should work. But now it sparks and smokes. Needs a complete teardown. Maybe when I tried to clear the openings in the rotor contacts, some of which had rubbed together, some copper slivers may be in bad places. I do love these little hardware parts stores.
