On Tuesday I asked mom how she thought the election went for Trump? She said we need more people like Desantis. And my pothead hippie bum almost ex friend is text bating me at this moment how the orangutan was the best president ever. I just can't understand it. The great divide remains. I agree Biden is losing his mind. We need to have a top age limit of 70. The age of politicians has never been so different than the average population of America

Thais abroad warned not to buy fresh fruit to bring home
Elkski replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
We hadn't planned on bringing more fruit than we can eat during travel but was thinking of turkey jerky. Not a large amount but sometimes it's a nice snack on a cracker with cheese. I guess meat products not ok and what about cheese? -
I'm wondering if the extra fees go to some sub contractor who developed and or is running the website? Common in USA. Example is Utah hunt draw system. 5$ fee per . 3 million additional profit is pretty nice bonus for someone. Reduced paper and labor costs . Is an improvement concept but I will still bash Thailand. It must be related to Apex.

Extension of the 45 days on arrival?
Elkski replied to coralia's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I guess you mean airline at home country and then airline at visa bounce country? I am guessing tourism is up as wife and I are coming. Will get the 2nd booster today. Wasn't going to trust government but brother and family just got COVID. Doesn't sound fun. We are staying a bit over 45 days. Planning to fly to Siem Reap under the 45 days. What sort of record do you need to show as proof of flight. Just a screenshot of confirmation page? I won't be extending but what is a tm7? 150 days hmmm. Would sound nice missing the whole winter, but that would run into delightful spring and all those gardening things needed. To do 150 days one would have to do the visa run prior to March 31, 2023. But still could get 135 days for trips beginning before March 31st. https://www.thaiembassy.com/thailand-visa/thai-visa-exemption-and-bilateral-agreement -

Government’s new liquor production edict only benefiting brew pubs
Elkski replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Not sure the latest rules when it passed are but the initial bill had numbers that would protect the monopolies so their influence was proven. I doubt the passed bill is much better. I'm all for home brewing and brew pubs. But one better not brew more than he can afford to drink or give away for free or the exe will surely fall hard -
Sad. RIP. 2 injured children parent less. Such a preventable tragedy. 2 issues here. Dunk driving of which Thailand is surely 30 years behind the Western countries. It can't happen overnight. It takes lots of educational announcements, strict enforcement and penalties. And seat belt use. This will take 20 years to catch up. Big problem is Thailand has let it's economy expand with it being accepted that families of 4 or 5 only need a scooter. Or trucks can haul people. Just look at the trucks in Bkk with 30 workers being hauled to construction sites from the camps. One widow I dated who had bought a new truck with cash, (courtesy of the American father of her 3 children) let her 3 children and 2 dogs ride in the back of her truck with a topper. I tried to stop this but failed. I couldn't even get the kids to buckle up when they ride in the cab. I think it's almost hopeless.

Five tonnes of smuggled pork seized near Cambodian border
Elkski replied to webfact's topic in Eastern Thailand
Some of you guys need to Google before you post. If you raised hogs in Thailand you would want even wild pigs killed. "But the virus can also survive several months in processed meat, and several years in frozen carcasses, so meat products are a particular concern for cross-border transmission" https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2018/oct/24/what-is-african-swine-fever-and-how-does-it-spread -
Thai government defends foreign land ownership plan

To many hoops, can't imagine many takers. Are they so desperate? If it sounds like a greedy set of rules it is probably a greedy rule maker
