Video: No injuries but so close to potential death for many!

May I ask what you do with this gear?

Interesting thread. Some very well written replies. I have really been in a position to know the ability to make friends in Thailand. I was just the tourist money tree or guy with Thai gal or some single mom no one wanted. If things were reversed. In my home I would not like it. We come from a land where we can make 2 weeks thai pay in a good day. My main comment is I found it hard to make real friends over 50 or was it just the last 10-15 years in this new society. We have all been categorized. Religion education Tattooed or not Trumper or not Democrat or Republican not just a free thinker Fat or fit Color of skin Even color and straightness of teeth We don't respect wealth nowadays because so many just inherit it or crypto or lucked into it. Many of my hobbies are not done socially. I could join a couples mountain bike club but that's not as convenient as going where and when and at our own pace and finding a private spot sometimes. I was going to a fun 10$ poker game weekly before covid and marriage. I do miss it but don't consider those guys friends. I have neighbors I can ask or they ask for help sometimes. I just believe once we hit 3o you don't make real friends.

Israeli man arrested at Phuket Airport with 55 firearm bullets
Elkski replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
Probably quite east to obtain in Israel. How did they get past security at his starting airport to fly to BKK? -
How long of a drive was that? What was the temperature outside? And I'm sure they weren't chilled before loading. How many hours has it been since those chickens were slaughtered? Nasty. It would have been normal in USA to say where the chickens came from and the capacity of the truck probably would have been stated. Kerb? Really

The smell I hate the most are these cinnamon infused line cones in a box box they place by the door of my big box hardware stores. Pavlov's dog? Xmas trees and garb went up for sale in September. You can't believe the Halloween junk they sell. Giant skeletons, all these inflatable things. It's almost all sold out now.

I wouldn't worry about 4k traveling through airports and such. It's what do you do with that once your in a condo or hotel room or staying at a resort in Krabi and want to go swimming or something. I read horror stories about hotel room safes. I carry less than 300$ in my wallet In USA more like 150. But use credit card most times.

What items would you bring in your luggage from USA?
Elkski replied to Elkski's topic in Thailand Travel Forum
I've talked to ladies at the baggage claim in Thailand and one lady said her suitcase was full of Costco vitamins. Oh I brought 12 pairs of thrift store finds of women's designer jeans and Levi's. Levi shrink to fit 501s have had 2 price increases this year the sales lady said the other day. So 49$. But I recall in Thailand 3 years ago they were like 80usd. -

This is so sad. Dying this way is one of my fears. The pain and suffering if there wasn't modern pain meds would be unimaginable. RIP and may justice and change prevail -

Yes I need shaving gel not foam <deleted>. Are highly processed meats like jerky and sausage banned. Was thinking about turkey jerky. I have brought it before. Just for personal use. I carry nuts, energy bars, crackers, jerky, candy for layovers and snacks on travels. -
Isn't a Visa exempt 45 days for 4-5 more months by decree for many countries?

We could have 4 big checked in bags for free to Thailand between the two of us. I think a 175 would fit. Wife is Thai. She does want to take a few things to thailand but her main thing is to bring back food items, spices, sauces and beauty creams that she doesn't think we have. I know it's 1 liter of booze per person. So 2 liters we can bring. I won't need condoms this trip. Or will I? Haha. How much is a liter of johnny Walker black in Thailand? I really don't want 4 big bags. Most cabs will not fit so much luggage. -
I think the comment was because the K1 visa is a one time thing. maybe your thinking of the B1 tourist visa which is valid for 10 years. She has an appointment by the MBK center office and IT sounds like it will be easy to pick it up at a friends house in BKK a few days later so she will have it well before its needed to leave Thailand.

Yes 2 bags of 23 kg per person are included in international flights. Packing the Yamaha was kind of a joke. But I do have the original owner trying to sell his to me. I told him I think it's only worth 200-400$. But just yesterday he said he is still interested in selling it to me. Perhaps he is wanting to trade against my bill for lots of handyman services rendered. It would be perfect transport if I still had my truck camper. I did eye some Reese's cups at checkout yesterday I think .88$ or 25 baht. I do like em but can resist if they are not in the pantry. I do miss the normal size Pringles when I'm in Thailand. Perhaps 2 good 1 liter bottles of whiskey? I also miss good cheese and bread. Perhaps 5 kg of mesquite chunks for smoking some pork butts. -
We will be taking a trip to Thailand and wifey is insisting on taking 4 big suitcases. Mainly for her to bring things, mainly 99% food items back. In the past, before the x-ray machines were installed I brought 15 pairs of women's jeans 2 times, 2 loads of coach purses, 1 suitcase full of t shirts for a teachers students. Justin Bieber was the most popular t shirt. For some reason my wife keeps eyeing a set of dining utensils to bring mom. Can't you get good quality fork and spoon sets in Thailand? I'm thinking a set of color coded plastic cutting boards. The crusty log rings used for cutting raw meat it produce just bothers me. I did think about dismantling a 1979' Yamaha 175 a guy is trying to sell me. Would that be valuable?

6 months to live what would you do?
Elkski replied to Sparktrader's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I read them all. I guess I need to try sex on mushrooms and blow. 10 k is low. 375,000 baht. 63k baht a month. Delete my account here first day. Perhaps sponsor a new uni girl each month. I like the replies about just enjoying the farm but the 5 months "in season" part is what bothers me about Thailand. Just to hot and muggy and buggy most of the year. I like the idea that we should live life like only 6 months. I have not. I am always planning for the future and it was probably not the best way. Oh and I should like to try the doubles and triples. -
Good to know Thai passport office is running smoothly. Does she need to take photos or anything? I've heard here in the US passports are slow like most government offices. Although I did get a new title for a trailer in quick fashion. After going to the DMV and seeing the long line and learning appointments are almost needed. Then I tried to do it online. I thought I did it. Crazy government websites. They need some decent online retail web developers to fix all these things. Finally went in with appointment and 2 min wait. Old gal reaching a newbie told him most people think they did it online but forget this last step or something. So most people can't understand the dam confusing website? The visa (16 month wait thanks to trump, and a bit to COVID) in her old passport is a K1 visa, a one time use visa. 90 day fiance thing. Fancy looking, it is like the original homepage with picture and holographic things. I applied feb 2020. Our visa was in the batch that got stuck in Virginia for 4 months. They say because the trump appointed head of the embassy held back on requesting more. So what usually was a 1 week assignment of a case number before shipping the packet to BKK it was 4 + months. Finally a group of people paid 1500$ each and joined a big lawsuit and the judge ruled they must not be delayed. Not the best link but. https://www.motionlaw.com/dos-faces-lawsuit-over-fiancee-visa-delays/

I've exchanged a minimal amount at the airport super rich on the way to the train into BKK but the rate always seemed better at the asoke super rich. Wise is set up. If one travels with 40 hondos that means you need to find good rate exchanges. Maybe if you don't travel into the boonies that's ok. Is the buy rate given on the super rich website always the same at each kiosk? I didn't see a way to look at individual locations rates? Are kasikorn ATM withdrawals still free like wife says. I deplore being charged anything to take out money. https://www.superrich1965.com/home.php?language=en
