Politicians make pledges to voters during an election campaign, and people vote accordingly.
Then you get <deleted> like these, who, now elected, feel free to change allegiance, (obviously for financial gain), leaving the people who voted for them and their, then, policies, in the lurch.
Another sad side of Thai politics.

Any moron from another country who comes over here thinking they can break the law because it's Thailand should be deported for life for DUI and if they hurt or kill someone should face attempted murder/murder charges.
The topic is about opening hours, not drink driving.
In my 14 years here, I have always got home after drinking, by taxi or shanks' pony.

Thieves are despicable, but to leave money in an open environment, in this day and age, is hardly a bright idea. Thieves have no morals.

It's good, if it keeps them off the Ya ba, lao khao, and stops them from abusing kids.

It should read "The family have said they WILL prosecute the teacher concerned"
It's time to stop the financial bribe to let things like this go away, and free the said teacher to carry on in their job. They are not suitable to teach children, and should face the full force of the law, if guilty.
Think of what the child has been through, before thinking of financial gain.

I'd be highly skeptical that any winning bid for Government contracts were aimed at prioritising the state benefits, rather prioritising high up politician's benefits.

Correct Johnathon.
I think most sensible people realised this as soon as a suggestion of a petition was mooted.
Unfortunately, we foreigners, farangs, aliens, call us what you like, are never going to make any Thai officials change any rules or regulations they have brought in.

100% correct.
I can't realistically see any person who left Thailand coming on this thread and admitting they made the wrong move. It's all about convincing themselves that it was the best move they made.
I know quite a few who have left, over the years, who, whilst here, said they were really enjoying life, and it was the best move (coming to live in Thailand) they had ever made.
Most of these have no further contact with their friends who remained, and who are still enjoyng life here, but you do get feedback about how bad some people who left are living back home, like working on a zero hours contract in a care home, and living in an HMO (house of multiple occupants) in some impoverished city over there.

Yeh have to agree - the reader submissions are good but Sticks endless prattling about NZ is ridiculous. He tells a great deal of porkies and is not to be believed.
He now sounds like some TV posters who returned to their home country.
Babbling on about how great his home country is, in comparison to Thailand, to try and justify to HIMSELF that he made the right move.
The only praises he has for Thailand, are saved for his invaluable bar sponsors, which are the "best" bars/gogos in Thailand ???????? (purely in his opinion), and are jam packed every single night ???????? !

Had a bar for years, and was on it every day. Not clever, but it was part and parcel of being in the game.
Nowadays, I raely bother, and I walk 5k most mornings before the sun rises, but do meet up with the ex customers a couple of times a month, when we "get on it" !
I love being sober, but the couple of days out are something to look forward to, when we reminisce about the good old days around 2005 and onwards.

I looked up "plastic" in the urban dictionary, and when I saw their definition, I thought, he has a valid point !
Plastic people; "Watanabe Elitist"… simple put, “Fake as plastic”…
