Are tip requests getting out of hand ?
Pouatchee replied to Social Media's topic in US & Canada Topics and Events
Ya don't have to. Now many places add a service charge unbeknownst to us on our bills. So they take the tip without asking like back in Canada. -
They know the word but unfortunately don't understand the culture around it. If I say "frack me" my language is kinda foul... but in no way am I insulting another person, but the Thais automatically think I am. Or Holy Frack!... Thais haven't got a clue of the various usages of the F word... many times it is no worse than their 'alai wah' which is heard day in and day out. They need to brush up on other cultures before assuming that as soon as the F word is spoken someone loses face.

Nope. That's a Jamaican thing. We called it pot, as it should be. Ganja rings like FARANG in my ears. Hate the bloody word.

When Will All These Annoying Tourists <deleted> Off ?
Pouatchee replied to NickyLouie's topic in Pattaya
That would be a wise choice. I am living in the Boonies here in Banchang with no tourists at all. In the jungle with peace and quiet to spare. -
Not true... not even technically... cost me 500 bht for mine

Driving licence renewal? DLT takes walk-in applications from now on
Pouatchee replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Me too... IN Pattaya... I was booked a week after I went to book my appointment. BTW, the e-learning test sucks and it is quite confusing seeing how there are two trainings to choose from. In a nutshell, if you have to do it, choose the one on the left and watch out for the pop-up questions that just show up randomly. These pop-up questions will also be asked at the end of the test to see if you pass or not. Some of the answers weren't even in the video. -
I really don't get karma. You can be walking on a deserted road at 3 a.m. and out of nowhere a car or truck will come along and ram right into you. It could have crashed anywhere... but no... it has to crash in the only place that has life. I have nothing but sorrow for this young lady and her unborn child. What a waste. Karma sucks

Pouatchee replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I don't get it. Seems like double negative. So they remove this section and now it is a narcotic? Must go smoke some section X herb to help with my confusion.- 12 replies

She wants to give me 4,000,000 euros

Do as the God of anti-scammers does... just reply "OK" to every message she sends you. Nothing more, nothing less. Or be one of those 'there's one born every minute' guys. -
I have a big Sharp I bought at Robinson's and I have a smaller TEFAL I bought at hardware house. The oven one also works as a rotisserie and as a normal oven. Brilliant technology and the food is great. Warms up food better than a microwave. Best of luck

What to seal these concrete blocks with, please?

Which he won't need to do if he does it right from the first time. Moreover, if he follows your advice and one day builds 2 layers up he will continue to do it the wrong way. Funny how some people find it so hard to gracefully admit they are wrong. -

Ever hear the idiom: do it once do it right? Putting the bricks upside down not only looks wrong but his bricks will also retain water when it rains and they will also be less strong with the crown facing upwards rather than downwards. -
