But they aren't Buddhists. Not earning money and having no attachments or desires are a central part of being a Buddhist monk. They basically have to live like a monk. -

I'm pretty sure he's not meant to have anything. But Thailand has a pretty flexible interpretation of Buddhism. -

Doubtful. Why then get pissed up and die? If the new boyfriend was sexually abusing his daughter, he would have decent grounds to get the guy put away. -

You look dead ahead and use your periphery to judge what colour light is showing. It's very difficult. I believe it called a peripheral vison test, and this is what that means. I wondered about this, as I have done the test but couldn't see anything at first. Then I crouched a little and could make out some lights, but I couldn't see the colours well. The lady let me pass, but I was completely baffled by what the test would be for. It occurred to me afterwards that I could have moved my eyes rather than relying on my peripheral vision, which actually makes a lot more sense. I suspect it's one of these things where they aren't sure what to name it, so name it incorrectly. Since there is no way of them knowing if you moved your eyes and I don't really think people can judge colours accurately using their peripheral vison, I don't think that is the purpose.

I wonder if they were both facing difficult times and decided to head off to their next incarnation early. One of the downsides of believing in reincarnation. -

Racism? Gay love triangle? Or he really doesn't like people drinking beer after work? -
Comparing a group of people who were removed from their lands with another group of people who were removed from her lands? What's wrong with that? If the rule is that the people stole lands should compensate people whose lands they stole, why not? How about we compensate everyone until we can't anymore?

Apparently they need someone to come forward and make a complaint, so it's unlikely that the first guy is going to come forward. He could, in theory, say that he only just met the second guy and he doesn't even know his name, as that would allow him to make a complaint against the ladyboy for assault. Unfortunately, it's unlikely that the police would believe him, and they might try to pin the punch to the ladyboy on him. You would have thought that the police would tell the ladyboy, "Make a complaint if you want, but you did harass and assault the other guy first". Perhaps because they don't actually care about that and don't feel that the ladyboy needs to be "legally punished".
-
Watch again. The ladyboy finishes assaulting the first guy, then turns to the second and starts pointing to him as he throws the punch. You can't call it a sucker punch if the recipient is looking at the guy when he throws it. It's likely that the guy who punched the ladyboy only did so because she turned on him.

I actually didn't bother to watch the video until just now, since @charleskerins commented that it was a sucker-punch and I was curious. (Not a sucker punch, as the ladyboy had turned her attention towards the guy who hit her and was about to start shouting at him.) What I thought was interesting, was that the ladyboy looked to be harassing the first guy, and even hits/slaps him on the back, but the "security" didn't bat an eyelid until the Thai person was hit. Pretty sad really. It seems like security is there mainly to protect Thais while they scam tourists. It certainly doesn't make you want to go there.

They probably want to be able to say "this is Thai rice". If they grew a different rice, then it would be like admitting that Thai rice isn't the best. -
Foreigner Assaulting Thai Woman on Walking Street in Pattaya

While it doesn't justify his behaviour, you'd have to be a little naïve to take the view of "I was simply making a recording of the violent and aggressive man breaking the law which could later be used as evidence to assist in him facing legal consequences", without realising that this is very likely going to further aggravate him. It's a nice thing to do (although it might be more about social media attention these days), but it obviously comes with risks. you're essentially intervening in whatever the person is doing by filming them.
