  1. He had a fresh, crispy brown envelope in his pocket. Guess what? 100K Baht. Ah well, it's for the kids ... Good PR.
  2. Small fish in a big sea ... of tomato sauce.
  3. Chariot racing anyone? video: https://www.facebook.com/groups/966895136832316/permalink/1787368661451622/
  4. Not after it smashed into the right rear side of the van. CCTV video here shows the bike going pretty fast. It was just a blur on the video. Looks like the bike didn't go anywhere near 100 meters. The van continued to drive a distance. https://www.newsdirectory3.com/tragic-moment-big-bike-collapsed-body-knocked-down-killed-2-hit-the-van-revealing-the-effect-of-alcohol/
  5. Then there's the Thai guy who was asked if he was married. He held up both hands and said "I have two wives".
  6. I have a 40+ year old lifetime "Jakayan Yon" (motor bicycle) license. Would I be OK with a big bike if I add pedals to it?
  7. Repairing a ding or 3 might be practical using a filler. If there's a lot of rust and small pitting/bumping, like an old car bumper, this may not be practical. However, you could use something that will remove the rust, as rust grows (expands) and is quite abrasive. Then use a super-fine ceramic or even a very hard piece of polished steel (or even glass) to burnish down the high/rough spots before replacing seals.
  8. Looks a little squirrely. I tried something like that in a gravel lot on a GT750 Suzuki "water buffalo". Goosed the throttle and when the power came up, the rear tire started spinning and it wanted to go sideways. Very quickly got off the throttle but it took a second for it to stop spinning because of the inertia. It was a customer's bike and I was lucky I didn't dump it. That bike weighed at least 230 kg vs. my 52 kg. A street bike might be more agile.
  9. They need the subs to attack Koh Tao and take over. They'd be useless against Laos unless the Chinese turned up the water level in the Mekong.
  10. Makin' a beer run.
  11. Found my chopper. All it needs is a beer rack on the back for 7-11 runs. Though this SuperCubX is more my style.
  12. Thai police quickly located the vehicle using their GPS.
  13. Cheap Charlies. I've donated $20 K Baht to 3 refugee families just this past week. Zero government/agencies involved, fortunately. Two of these families are Ukrainian and just arrived in Poland. Local people are helping with necessities, transportation, temporary lodging in their homes and even finding rent-free apartments for them. ????
  14. They need to put up a bunch of electric poles right next to the road. Then vehicles will be attracted to them instead of the ditch. New road but already has some serious erosion on the embankment...
  15. Cheech and Chong - "Tied Stick - You know, the stuff that's tied to a stick".
  16. I gave my MIL 10 K Baht (then about $500 USD) for the wedding dinner & whatnot. We got probably a few thousand Baht in gifts but we gave that to MIL for future use. Many years later we bought a couple lots and built a house that she stayed in for a number of years. So they get you sooner or later. ????
  17. Found my dream bike. A Lambretta Moto GP bike. Just my speed. Possibly late 50's/early 60's in Australia.
  18. I did once loan 2,000 Baht to a cute young waitress gal back when that was $100. U.S.$. She immediately paid the "interest" but I never got the principal back. She and her man showed up some time later in a refugee camp where I worked, claiming to be Laotian refugees, which at least he may have been. I blew their plans out of the water on that one.
  19. "...I'm sweet for aftershave, as i brought 35 bottles with me. ..." Can't help you, brother. I haven't shaved in 44 years. My Uncle was a part-time farmer. His favorite aftershave was "Evening in a Barnyard" according to him.
  20. Didn't they recently change the name to Krung Thep Mahafia?
  21. From the link provided: A wah is two meters.
  22. Square Wah. https://www.siam-legal.com/realestate/thailand-convert-rai.php
  23. This is what happens when you mix methanol and crystal meth.
  24. Did they order the green chicken soup? Villagers in Loei served that to a missionary priest years back. He got high as a kite and didn't know what it was.
