  1. Can stream on fmovies if you want. Looks good.
  2. So just returned for my stamp, all good until Dec 14th 2024. Just to recap: My IO, Ayutthaya, now required a home visit ( with a witness ) and a 1 month under consideration stamp for a retirement extension from an O visa. No attempt to extort any money they just have changed the rules to their liking ( probably some new boss ). Attempting to question their reasoning is futile and met with deaf ears, just have to go with the flow ! Only once a year 😕
  3. Ah okay, that makes sense, I’ll check it out . Yup, it does indeed change the regen between high and standard. I was thrown by the wording “ Energy Feedback “.
  4. So, here’s a question for ya !! Swiping down on the screen gets me this: I noticed the “ Energy Feedback “ button, which when pressed goes from this: to this: seems like an increase/decrease in energy feedback !, but what does that mean exactly and what difference does it make ??
  5. Thanks, I had missed the Charge Loma app, now added.
  6. Yes, Thailand hasn’t sunk to the depths that they have in the good ole US of A , wonder what any American visitors would make of this in my local Robinson’s:
  7. I think the Devil was warning you to stop posting stupid topics on here ?
  8. GAC AION announces another price drop on Jan 2nd ……… not sure why as it’s only 4,000 baht, but there you go ! 9. Are you sure ? Swipe down from the top and expand Vehicle control, far left on mine.
  10. But it can if you want ! Mine also came with the AVAS switch in the off position but I did have a little play to see what i was missing ….. not much . The OTA update didn’t change things in the ice cream van/spaceship area anyways .
  11. I would bet that there are plenty of idiots who believe that there are enough EV enthusiasts who believe this BS.
  12. It is hard to keep up with all the BYD launches but the Seal U or the Song L would do well here I think. Both larger SUV’s than the Atto 3 and something to compete with the Fortuna, must surely be in BYD’s sights.
  13. It’s always good to have a hobby to keep the mind active. I started with a few diy jobs and then tackled a building job in the garden, a “ sala “ with concrete tiled base and cement tiles for the roof on a steel frame. I then progressed to taking care of the garden, with lime and mango trees. I was a bit out of my comfort zone but nowadays there are YouTube videos to assist you every step of the way and once started it is hard to stop. So, whatever you have even the tiniest interest in ( playing the guitar, painting, swimming, woodworking, etc etc ) just search for some videos and you will soon find it is within your grasp.
  14. I loved the Detectorists, tried my hardest to get my daughter interested but she wasn’t having it …… kids today !! ( she’s 35 ) Toby Jones , of Detectorists fame, is in a new U.K. drama entitled Mr Bates v The Post Office: ” One of the greatest miscarriages of justice in British legal history where hundreds of innocent sub-postmasters and postmistresses were wrongly accused of theft, fraud and false accounting due to a defective IT system. “ Wonder if they tried turning it off and back on again 🤔 https://www.imdb.com/title/tt27867155/?ref_=ext_shr_lnk A 4 part mini drama showing now on ITV, might not be easy to find just yet but i am sure is worth searching for.
  15. It said it was giving me 28.5 kw on the charger itself but i didn’t pay attention to the app or the car. TBH, this was more of a trial run for future charging while doing our mil visits as I discovered that the granny charger gave a fault at the mil abode, i suspect an earth fault.
  16. While on the subject of chargers: Anyone used an EV Anywhere outside of BKK ?, they seem to be plentiful in the Big Mango but not so many outside.
  17. Yes, this one is 25kw ( another one near home is 50kw ), but I don’t mind as i can escape the chatter at the mil’s with the “ just going to charge the car “ excuse for some well deserved me time which usually means recline the seat and put some quality music on …….. bliss !
  18. While i am a great advocate of the Seal GPS for finding charging points it doesn’t seem to pick up the PEA Authority chargers. Foe example: staying at the mil’s for a couple of days looking on the Seal GPS gives me the nearest charger at 17km while a quick look at PlugShare app picks up the PEA Authority charger at 5km which i took advantage of for a holiday rate of 5 baht/kw . Handy to know I think as, despite being a little slow, the PEA Authority chargers are rarely used and seem to be well cared for with a roof and outside seating area ( in the ones I have used at least )
  19. Yup, those pesky fireworks are a nuisance for those of us whose dancing days are over. Lucky, our friendly stray, sought refuge from the noise. You have a very positive outlook on life Owl and hopefully 2024 will be a year of good fortune. We all look forward to seeing some happy family scenarios. Mildred seems like a young lady with her head screwed on and is surely the glue that is holding your family together, long may it last.
  20. HNY to you Owl, here’s hoping 2024 is kinder to you and past events do not prevent you, Mildred and even Mrs Owl from recreating the happy family times you once shared .
  21. It wouldn’t accept my Bangkok Bank debit card ( I put it down to it being that worse than useless UnionPay ) but it did accept my U.K. credit card. To be honest I probably will avoid using the ReverSharger chargers unless I am in a tight spot for a couple of reasons. I don’t like the booking idea. The BYD showroom chargers are only on a weekend for some showrooms and at 8 baht they are not the cheapest. But also, using my U.K. credit card will probably prompt them to freeze my card , they seem to like doing that if I have not used it for a while and have a transaction in foreign climes, which means I have to physically call the bank to in freeze it.
  22. I have a Haval Jolion ( the H6’s younger sister ) and a Seal, I love driving them both. The difference between a SUV and a saloon is large but they are both excellent rides and quality in different ways. Strangely enough the Seal has a larger storage capacity than the Jolion, which I would say is one of its downsides, the other being the fuel economy of 17.8 km/litre ( with my conservative driving ) not great for a HEV. But i have enjoyed driving the Jolion nearly as much as i now enjoy driving the Seal . At the end of the day enjoying owning and driving the car is the main point in my humble opinion.
  23. I didn’t copy the VIN number, does it mention what discount and rewards you get ?
  24. Asean is not an anagram of Senna as any competent schoolboy knows !
  25. I registered for the ReverSharger app which is chargers at BYD Showrooms, Malls and Shell stations. Requires a debit/credit and your tax information if you are to make a booking at Malls or Shell. The booking includes a fee of 10 baht an hour for DC and 50 baht an hour for AC. You choose your length of preferred booking from 15 minutes up to 8 hours . Charges seem to be, for DC, 7.5 baht per kw at pumps, 8 baht at BYD and 10 baht at malls. For AC , at cafes, restaurants or guesthouses etc, the price varies from 5 baht an hour to 50 baht an hour with an overtime fee from 100 to 500 baht an hour, prices set by locations. Some BYD Showrooms chargers are only available from Friday 10 pm to Monday 7 am , others don’t specify any times so maybe 24 hrs (?). Initially i was keen to add another charging app to my list but this one seems a little vague with the strange booking process and fees, also the limited availability of chargers at some BYD showrooms. But, have registered now so might just pull into a showroom sometime to see what the actual experience is like, not a fan of the booking idea. Of course, some might be already put off by the request for tax information !! ( although if just using BYD locations that might not be required ? ).
