  1. Tuna and tomato or thinly cut cucumber for me.
  2. This Bangchak pump is 24 hr free charging and has now become my go to place for free EV juice. It’s a bit further than my nearest BYD dealer but has a coffee shop, restaurant and a handful of other shops plus it appears to be less frequented than the dealer. A good point about Monday being a good day to charge, my experience yesterday backed that up, 5 minutes sharing then 50 minutes all to myself .
  3. EV range of 100km and combined NEDC of 800+ km, according to this presentation to BYD Australia Media in BYD China . snapshot from the below video.
  4. Taking advantage of some free EV juice at a Bangchak pump near me. Located on a busy road I was pleased to see only 1 Dolphin sucking on the charger, and even more pleased to see that he was almost full !! Indeed he finished soon after I arrived ( i have that effect on people ! ). This Bangchak charger is different to the 2 BYD dealerships i have used in that the LED’s ( green for in use, blue for available and red for error ) are larger and at the top of the charger, but they also scroll giving you an instant view of roughly what percentage they are at ! ( correct me if wrong but i don’t remember the BYD chargers having this visual effect ). Handy if you are pulling up as you can see what the status is without having to stop the car . Anyhoo, enjoyed some freebies at 114 kw for a while and now near completion, 23° to 100° in 56 minutes
  5. I had a leak under my house. Started with the pump cycling briefly one night and then became more frequent over a period of months until it was almost constant and we would shut off the pump when not in use. I would recommend to isolate the pump with a stop valve before and after to check if holding pressure, closing individual valves and both together. ( many pumps have a built in non return valve which could allow you pressure loss back to the tank if faulty ).If pump holding pressure then concentrate on the pipework and hardware. As said above, toilets can be a source of leaks if water is draining into the bowl or taps dripping. Check initially for any visible leaks, dry off the shower and check after a few hours for any seeping through the wall. Outside taps or sinks are a likely cause of small leaks. In my case i took several months to search for the leak inside the house but found nothing. Dug up the concrete outside the back door to fit a temporary stop valve just before where the pvc pipe disappeared under the house. The pump held pressure right up to the house but was leaking somewhere after. After convincing myself that the leak was not visible in the house therefore must be under the tiled concrete floor. I did some searching for leak detection but was not convinced that it could detect a small leak under a concrete floor so repiped the whole house externally !! Not a job I would wish on anyone although I did kind of enjoy the project. To the OP: Narrow down where your leak might be. Eliminate the pump first. Eliminate whether outside the house or somewhere inside. I didn’t try any leak detection service but maybe others have tried with success. Good luck.
  6. He has a pump which is cycling due to the leak so the leak is between pump and the house and not affecting the meter, if the meter is running and pump not cycling then the leak will be between meter and pump.
  7. We have a cat, okay the cat has us !!, who visits most days for a daytime snooze, the kids love Lucky ! He has graced us with his presence for around 2 years but we know he also visits the neighbours . A while ago he started stalking a black female who also visited us but only to eat and was very timid. Back in May “ Blackie” gave birth to 4 kittens under my car and they soon found climbing inside the car a perfect hideaway. We had to use a cat sounds video on my phone to call the mother who, feeling threatened, would come and call them out. We discovered that if they didn’t come out they would stay tucked up in the undercarriage of the car for local trips. One actually stayed in the car for around 30 hours and 500 km when we went to a family funeral, quickly descended when we returned home where the mother was waiting. Unfortunately I reversed over one and gradually they have disappeared with only one kitten and Blackie visiting us to eat occasionally. They do still give great pleasure when they visit and have caught at least 3 rats: IMG_4211.mov I wished they would have all stayed like this and grown up to entertain us daily but sadly not to be : IMG_3943.mov Kiki, as is now known, visits occasionally and a couple of times has come into the house for a play: IMG_4718.mov

  9. So you also searched for a link to a LH drive Yaris ? How very petty .
  10. Google indicates that your link is to an American website presumably showing a picture of a 2016 Toyota Yaris available in the US. As this topic is “ Electric Vehicles in Thailand “ it would be a better comparison to show a Thai 2016 Toyota Yaris interior. Here’s some courtesy of Facebook Marketplace. A bit different to your rendering:
  11. Car interiors here in Thailand are varied with Honda and Toyota sticking to the more traditional colour scheme and the Chinese imports going for a more colourful approach. (Although that has changed slightly with MG and BYD favouring darker colour interiors recently). Some of the Chinese imports interiors are a bit of a shock to the system when you first take a look but if you own one you will adapt quite quickly. My taste has done a full circle, have owned these: 1) Honda 2) MG 3) GWM 4) BYD While the lighter/more colours interiors can be nice i still prefer a classy/classic black.
  12. I just completed this quiz. My Score 40/100 My Time 71 seconds
  13. Shame, prefer Texas to KFC , those honey glazed biscuits, the mashed potato with gravy but in particular the wraps.
  14. If you want to start another anti Trump topic just start one, no need to mask it with the Russia/Ukraine poll .
  15. Had a little look at the levels In Ayutthaya and they seemed the same if not a little lower !

  19. Could be coming your way soon Crossy !!
  20. While the headline might be true it fails to mention the real reason Toyota are scaling back their EV production. The truth is Toyota put all their efforts into the bz4x which is a very poor product, overpriced, underpowered and with no new technology or ideas. Likewise with the other Japanese legacy auto giant Honda who also produced a very poor EV product in the e:Ny1 a reincarnation of the latest HRV with a battery strapped underneath and using age old technology in its drab interior. Expect a similar misleading headline from Honda in the near future. Both these giant automotive companies underestimated the Chinese and allowed them to forge ahead in technology, performance and price with quality vehicles and have only themselves to blame. Toyota in particular constantly stated that EV’s would not be popular and engaged their focus on a smear campaign, how wrong they were.
  21. yup, dropped down to 54 and 56 kw when both chargers occupied at the 2 BYD dealers i have tried. At my local BYD i had a experience: The dealer is quite small, attached to a Susco pump and on a frontage road of a main highway. The chargers, 2 x AC + 2 x DC ( who is using those AC chargers ?, employees of the dealer or gas station ? ) are located in a small area at the front which i imagine will make interesting queuing during rush hour !! When i arrived 1 DC slot was free so i “ slotted “ ( see what i did there 😀) myself in there only to find both chargers were in use only 1 car was parked in a normal parking place, later realised that short cables + poor charger location was the reason. I waited my turn and soon 1 car started to pull out, I quickly reversed into his slot only to realise a Dolphin that had been parked in the shade in the “ test drive “ place was waiting and not on a test drive as I had previously presumed. I did the right thing and pulled out, driving past the Dolphin i dropped my window and gave the universal slight nod and half smile in apology, Dolphin didn’t acknowledge. When parked the Dolphin owner got out to start charging and i said to the wife “ ah a ladyboy ! “ to which Mrs D replied “ not a ladyboy just a very fat ugly woman ! “ Her harshness surprised both me and her and we had a little chuckle 🤭
  22. Have been monitoring the movement at the free chargers nearest to me, clicking on the red dots on the app several times during the day to see which has most availability. ( okay not so scientific but has given me a reasonable grasp on the situation ). Of the two nearest options with 24 hours free charging: The BYD locations seem to be the busiest while the Bangchak pump is available frequently. Checking out the Bangchak pump on Google Maps I get a popular time bar chart for every hour for the week. From 9am to noon being the busiest time of the day and even more so on Sat/Sun. Of course his info may be based on the activity at the actual pumps ( states: based on historical visits ) but i will give it a try. Mentally booking a visit to this pump when my % gets to 40 or less, hopefully around 3pm on Thursday or Friday. Already noticed some interesting temples nearby to appease the little lady.
  23. Took a little look at Wat Phanan Choeng, Ayutthaya ( where Chao Phraya and Pasak meet ) as it is my flooding gauge. The level is definitely high, can see the marks on the floating pontoons ( where tourists disembark from the Bangkok boats and fish are fed with fish food, bread and multicoloured corn snacks) from the rollers on the columns at each corner. The walkways to the pontoons, usually a steep decline are now almost level. The warning signs will come when the concrete slabs, on the river path, are removed and the steel plates raised at an angle to be covered with some thick rubber sheeting held in place with sandbags. We are a bit off this point but that can change quickly as water is released from the northern dams into the rivers.
  24. Yes, my wife’s sister and her niece went on the premise of sightseeing for 5 days ( in reality farm work for as long as possible ). Niece got in, sister got turned around, basically just telling her they didn’t believe she was going for tourism.
  25. Forget “ somebody “ , he’s a nobody !!
