  1. Find your UTR via. tax.service.gov.uk
  2. This is the big question. Some might be considering suffering the U.K. for 185 days in order to achieve a more recent frozen rate of pension but is 185 days sufficient ? Maybe a full year cycle of the higher pension rate staying in the U.K. is required or even 2 years …… who knows ? …… obviously I don’t !
  3. I don’t think it is necessary to print out the 90 day receipt to put in your passport. I was at immigration for extension yesterday and the IO asked about 90 days, i just showed her the receipt of notification photo on my phone and she was happy. Was going to ask her when they are going to connect in person with online reporting but decided against it !! Seems ridiculous to me, you have to report every 90 days in country but the IO has to ask me if i have done it …… that info should be on the screen in front of her !! …….. okay, let’s not go there !
  4. Blimey, hope it doesn’t come to that. Am trying the bicarbonate of soda and vinegar/ boiling water method right now but with 2 teenagers using the bathroom it is not easy to maintain a routine.
  5. Thanks, yes that is what i am in the process of doing, too early to say if working but i have my fingers, and toes, crossed.
  6. While that thread does indeed state fruit flies in the title it then goes on to determine that the op is talking about drain flies. Mine are definitely bathroom based.
  7. Actually just found a thread from a couple of years ago and it appears bicarbonate of soda ( also known as baking soda apparently ) and vinegar is the way to go !! Will report back.
  8. I had a colonoscopy some years ago and this was the procedure only I took the whole thing ( 1 1/2 litres of water on a laxative powder ) in the morning. The reaction was very quick and i don’t think having half the evening before would have worked for me, the words “ eye “ and “ needle “ spring to mind !!
  9. Think I am going to funnel some bicarbonate of soda ( need to buy more ) down each drain and follow it up with some boiling water .
  10. Thanks, I am in a single storey house. Last night I put some bicarbonate of soda down what I think is the offending drain and poured some Toilet Duck on top which formed a lovely, hopefully lethal, bubbly cocktail !! This morning poured some boiling water down both drains in the boy’s bathroom. Only half a dozen present this morning but i have noticed as the day heats up they appear more, will see what happens later on.
  11. Yes, believe me i have searched under the sink and in every corner of the room but behind the toilet is the only place i don’t have good access to that’s why i was hoping to discover, via this thread, a spray that is good for these little blighters !!
  12. Okay, thanks, will try that now.
  13. Yes, each shower has a water seal and another drain in each room has a seal also, I keep them topped up as know the water evaporates quickly. No smells.
  14. So, as the title suggests am having a drain fly problem. Have had this before ( maybe a couple of times over 6 years) but cured it with small moth balls and bleach down shower and bathroom drains, in the basin overflow and using a mosquito spray. But this time it is persistent. 3 bathrooms: 1 and 2 have similar usage, 3 is toilet and basin only. 1 and 3 have pretty much zero flies but number 2 is inundated. Have cleaned down the walls with bleach and done the above procedure but a week now and no progress. No obvious signs of access, small window with mosquito net, 2 x drains with the typical Thai shallow trap ( topped up frequently with Haiter ). To get the picture, this morning at 6.30 am had zero flies, at 10.30 am zapped around 10 but just now ( 6.00 pm ) zapped 165 flies, no activity in the bathroom since 6.30 am when the boy showered. While it is quite pleasant zapping these flies with the electronic tennis racket it is wearing a little thin now. Anyone any miracle cure or homemade poison that will cure me of this curse ??
  15. Compared to the Seal the range is well down with same PS, Nm and battery size, also 0-100 slower, wonder what the contributing factor for this, drag coefficient maybe or total weight ?
  16. What if it was 1 male v 4 female, what would your deductive reasoning power tell you then ……. to keep digging ?
  17. No From the op. ” reports emerged from the US State Department about the death of anAmerican man in the same tourist hotspot, Vang Vieng.“
  18. A 28 year old Brit becomes the 5th victim. Briton Simone White dies after suspected mass poisoning in Laos https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cx27wyrxz9yo
  19. I just completed this quiz. My Score 50/100 My Time 124 seconds
  20. Thanks, that clearly shows him deliberately climbing over the barrier after having a peak down the hole.
  21. I liked The Penguin and this lead me to Gotham (2014 - 2019) , not sure how i missed this !! but 15 episodes in so far out of 100 and loving it. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt3749900/?ref_=ext_shr_lnk
  22. Yes !, is the short answer ( the frunk doesn’t even have a lid on it !! ) But at £55k ( 2.4 million baht ) then they are already disgruntled at having to pay another 40% ( my guess ) on top of Thai prices !!
  23. Someone was expecting a big rush on Tesla sales or hoping that the supercharger network will be open to non Tesla EV’s anytime soon !!
  24. Yes indeed, every EV review video will always quote a “20 - 80% charge in xx minutes” but I wonder if they are just using the max kWh charging capacity for that particular car and ignoring the charging curve, i seem to think so. Plus they are no doubt ignoring the requirements required to achieve max charging ( finding an adequate charger and using it alone ), also the inevitable charging loss. As i have only used 120 kWh chargers for the last 3 months and thanks to the app have the relevant information at hand i decided to determine what my average charging speed has been for the last 1,012.62 kw free charging at Rêvershargers. Now, the 120 kWh charger has given me max speeds of 114 kw when alone or 57 kw when shared on my 150 kw capable Seal. So, a little calculation using the kw’s and time taken tells me that my average charging speed has worked out at 67.50 kWh. So, 67.50 kWh is not too shabby when you take into account sometimes i shared the charger and the charging curve but it is a long way from 120 kWh plus my calculations are based on the actual kw delivered by the charger and not the kw received due to charging loss so take a bit off for that !! But, at least the price is right 😀
