  1. Could be coming your way soon Crossy !!
  2. While the headline might be true it fails to mention the real reason Toyota are scaling back their EV production. The truth is Toyota put all their efforts into the bz4x which is a very poor product, overpriced, underpowered and with no new technology or ideas. Likewise with the other Japanese legacy auto giant Honda who also produced a very poor EV product in the e:Ny1 a reincarnation of the latest HRV with a battery strapped underneath and using age old technology in its drab interior. Expect a similar misleading headline from Honda in the near future. Both these giant automotive companies underestimated the Chinese and allowed them to forge ahead in technology, performance and price with quality vehicles and have only themselves to blame. Toyota in particular constantly stated that EV’s would not be popular and engaged their focus on a smear campaign, how wrong they were.
  3. yup, dropped down to 54 and 56 kw when both chargers occupied at the 2 BYD dealers i have tried. At my local BYD i had a experience: The dealer is quite small, attached to a Susco pump and on a frontage road of a main highway. The chargers, 2 x AC + 2 x DC ( who is using those AC chargers ?, employees of the dealer or gas station ? ) are located in a small area at the front which i imagine will make interesting queuing during rush hour !! When i arrived 1 DC slot was free so i “ slotted “ ( see what i did there 😀) myself in there only to find both chargers were in use only 1 car was parked in a normal parking place, later realised that short cables + poor charger location was the reason. I waited my turn and soon 1 car started to pull out, I quickly reversed into his slot only to realise a Dolphin that had been parked in the shade in the “ test drive “ place was waiting and not on a test drive as I had previously presumed. I did the right thing and pulled out, driving past the Dolphin i dropped my window and gave the universal slight nod and half smile in apology, Dolphin didn’t acknowledge. When parked the Dolphin owner got out to start charging and i said to the wife “ ah a ladyboy ! “ to which Mrs D replied “ not a ladyboy just a very fat ugly woman ! “ Her harshness surprised both me and her and we had a little chuckle 🤭
  4. Have been monitoring the movement at the free chargers nearest to me, clicking on the red dots on the app several times during the day to see which has most availability. ( okay not so scientific but has given me a reasonable grasp on the situation ). Of the two nearest options with 24 hours free charging: The BYD locations seem to be the busiest while the Bangchak pump is available frequently. Checking out the Bangchak pump on Google Maps I get a popular time bar chart for every hour for the week. From 9am to noon being the busiest time of the day and even more so on Sat/Sun. Of course his info may be based on the activity at the actual pumps ( states: based on historical visits ) but i will give it a try. Mentally booking a visit to this pump when my % gets to 40 or less, hopefully around 3pm on Thursday or Friday. Already noticed some interesting temples nearby to appease the little lady.
  5. Took a little look at Wat Phanan Choeng, Ayutthaya ( where Chao Phraya and Pasak meet ) as it is my flooding gauge. The level is definitely high, can see the marks on the floating pontoons ( where tourists disembark from the Bangkok boats and fish are fed with fish food, bread and multicoloured corn snacks) from the rollers on the columns at each corner. The walkways to the pontoons, usually a steep decline are now almost level. The warning signs will come when the concrete slabs, on the river path, are removed and the steel plates raised at an angle to be covered with some thick rubber sheeting held in place with sandbags. We are a bit off this point but that can change quickly as water is released from the northern dams into the rivers.
  6. Yes, my wife’s sister and her niece went on the premise of sightseeing for 5 days ( in reality farm work for as long as possible ). Niece got in, sister got turned around, basically just telling her they didn’t believe she was going for tourism.
  7. Forget “ somebody “ , he’s a nobody !!
  8. They will probably wait until the free charging period is finished now !
  9. Here in Ayutthaya the downtown branch ( 4km ) only just opened and has no chargers. The other Ayutthaya showroom (18 km ), where I bought the car and charged today . Bangchak pump ( 4 km ) is off peak free charging but there’s another Bangchak (20 km ) that is free 24 hrs. One of our most regular trips is a 210 km ( each way ) trip due north to the mil’s and i have the choice of 3 showrooms + a few off peak Bangchaks. Also a couple of showrooms that only offer the free stuff off peak. Is it me or are the charging cables just the bare minimal length or are the painted parking bays just not very well planned ? Today i reversed in ( near the back on a Seal ) and it was okay, only just, for length but the Dolphin, who pulled in the other bay, couldn’t reach and had to park half and half. At my previous showroom charge I had to park 90° to the already charging car. Can sort of understand at generic chargers but these were both BYD locations !
  10. Found this from: https://www.thaiautonews.net/byd-offers-customer-compensation-package/?amp=1 “Customers who meet the following criteria will receive free charging at 1,200 REVERSHARGER outlets nationwide from August 1, 2024 to January 3, 2025. Dolphin customers who purchased, received the vehicle and obtained tax forms from July 7 to December 31, 2023 Atto 3 customers who purchased, received the vehicle and obtained tax forms from November 1 to December 31, 2023 Seal customers who purchased, received the vehicle and obtained tax forms from September 28 to December 31, 2023 Meanwhile, Dolphin, Atto 3 and Seal customers who purchased, received the vehicle and obtained tax forms from January 1, 2024 to July 4, 2024 will get free charging from August 1 to September 30, 2024 and Bt4 per unit from October 1, 2024 to January 3, 2025. For Dolphin, Atto 3 and Seal customers who purchased, received the vehicle and obtained tax forms from July 5, 2024 to August 31, 2024 will be offered Bt4 charging cost per unit from August 1, 2024 to January 3, 2025. “ I was kinda hoping that after Sept 30 th the demand for the free chargers would be heavily reduced but maybe not !! Yes, i have converted to the “ i want the free stuff and i want it now !! “ group, after adding another 53 kw for zero baht today .

  18. As stated above 90 days is 90 days in country and the clock resets when you come back. No problem whatsoever.
  19. My daughter just bought an iX1 in the U.K.. Happy to know she is not ignorant but buying a beemer means there’s room for improvement.
  20. That good to know thanks 👍 Presumably group 1 being those who bought a BYD in 2022/2023 and group 2 being those who bought in 2024 ?
  21. Seems like the BYD app has also updated to V 2.3.0 but again don’t know if anything changed.
  22. Seems like the Rêver app maintenance has finished and can be updated to version 1.9. There were some updates listed on the initial page but after updating I don’t see anything new.
  23. I was 10 years old when this was released and my elder brother bought a copy. At the time i liked the music but didn’t fully understand it, loved to read the newspaper album cover though. Took a few years before i realised the meaning of the album, a parody of the story of an eight year old boy and the poem he wrote about growing up. The band, in particular Ian Anderson, was sick that a previous album, Aqualung, was labelled as a concept album, strongly denying this he exaggerated the concept angle on Thick As as a sarcastic reply to the music journalists. Thick As A Brick 2 is also a great album but TAAB 1 was such a hard act to follow it didn’t receive the acclaim it deserved. 40 years after the original it covers what became of young Gerald and i strongly recommend anyone who liked TAAB to follow up with TAAB 2. So, TAAB conjures up for me some great memories of my childhood and as I grew my understanding of the music grew with me.
  24. Another price drop: 2 years ago i would have gone for this at this price and would have been satisfied I am sure.
  25. Wondering if any Atto 3 early adopters have been informed about the subscription fee for the 2gb monthly internet renewal ?
