  1. I received a doc from Brazil ( supposedly by their fastest method , Sedex) took 13 days.

I signed and sent it back by EMS , 6 days !.

Don't remember the cost but similar to the cost when it was sent to me.

Tracked it all the way back to Brazil in about 8 or 9 steps.

  2.  I have met him a few times , yes Rambo lookalike for sure. But very friendly guy.
He might be a member of this forum so be careful

    Ooops
If he is a TV member then I hope he takes it in the humorous way it was intended.

  3. Google maps on a smartphone without a doubt !!

Open a google account and sign in and your history will be saved automatically, just type in the first couple of letters and it brings up suggestions kinda like google itself.

Buy a holder for it, slap it on the screen and away you go !

I bought one of those magnetic holders that clip on the air vent, fits virtually every car, best 150 baht I ever spent, just slap my iphone on it and away we go !

Seriously, I've used gps's a lot when traveling for work and I find typing addresses in them really time consuming , much quicker and easier on a smartphone .

  4. I have only a 2 year Thai "Temporary" DL.  My US based DL recently expired.  I will not be eligible for my "Permanent" 5 year Thai DL for another year and a half.  Has anyone tried to rent a car in the US using the 2 year Temporary Thai DL?  I was told at the Thai DL office that they will only issue an IDP with the 5 year Thai DL.

    Good question !
I also have the 2 year " temporary " license and am wondering the same thing.
Got my first Thai license in January 17 and she made a point of saying " the license is good for 2 years but you can renew it after 1 year ", seemed a bit strange at the time but maybe James2020 it will help you out ?

  5. excellent choice…especially for smokers.

but its important to get the good tea from taiwan…its called High Mountain (Gao Shan) Tea.

My faves are Dong Ding, Long Feng Xia and Da Yu Ling…..doesnt come cheap but all taste wonderful.
They have subtle variations in flavour depending on the soil and clime at they're grown in.

another excellent tea is from dried sage leaves (the middle eastern variety, not spanish)…very good for lowering BP
and cholesterol. also celery seed tea is great for joint pains.

These are all unprocessed teas that you have to brew yourself….dont ever buy them bottled…it will be crap.

What about this one LÉNG HONG ?, I had a box of Oolong tea by the same brand, tasted pretty good, from China .

  6. Andy, I know this is an old post but was considering VAT.   Added 7% to your 89 Baht deodorant and got 95.23.   Doesn't explain the cooker pot though.

Yeah, you are right, forgot the good old VAT !
The pot was on sale but sale had finished, the sale price was still on the item but not at the till. If I had been buying a few things it would have gone unnoticed !
