  1. So it’s zero from 12,000 for BYD fires in Thailand so far ?
  2. Latest from BYD/RÊVER : Make of it what you will: Dear all customers (2nd edition) Progress update on BYD ATTO 3 electric car case. Smoke occurred in the front bonnet area while charging DC at that charging station. Today BYD and Rewe engineers team have expedited inspection of all systems, equipment to fully find the cause of the incident in this case. Preliminary findings from the BYD and REVE engineering team. After checking the exterior of the front bonnet area, damage was found around the wiring kit connected to the 12 volt battery which could have caused heat, resulting in damage to the AC ducts causing the AC fluid to leak and smoke from the A/C that was mixed with the heat in the area but no flame. In parts of other systems, such as the Control Module, which uses the high-voltage battery, wiring kit and connectors, the high-volume battery, were not damaged. However, BYD and RAVE's engineering teams are speeding up the investigation to find more evidence in all vehicles' systems with full confidence. Next step, BYD and REVE prepare to introduce new spare parts, change and replace damaged parts until the car can enter ON mode and activate normally so that the special tool can further analyze the car's performance in detail.
  3. Initial thoughts are the fire started around the 12v battery area and the lfp battery was not affected but need to wait for a proper investigation before coming to any conclusion. Interestingly, it was reported , and seen on the video, that a lot of time was lost trying to open the bonnet !!, the BYD Atto 3 has a strange system in that the internal bonnet release catch has to be pulled twice to enable release.
  4. The dizziness and headaches could be Vertigo, I had a couple of instances of this over the last 5 years. A visit to the outpatients and a course of medication ( 5 days I think ) cleared it right up. https://www.nhsinform.scot/illnesses-and-conditions/ears-nose-and-throat/vertigo#:~:text=Vertigo is commonly caused by,migraines – severe headaches
  5. Add me to the test drive list : Tested the ZS back in 2019 and the ZS 2020 in 2020, also the MG4 some 6 (?) months ago. On all 3 occasions showed my drivers license and was good to go.
  6. No it’s entertaining watching you shoot down all the suggestions . If only you could feign interest in the replies ????
  7. Looks like just another “ asking questions then criticising the answers “ thread to me ????
  8. No more strains of a badly plucked Smoke on the Water from the lead weights in the back seat !!
  9. For those who were interested in the BYD Seal but forgot what it looks like, here’s a quick reminder from Derek. Note: this is European spec so might differ slightly from the Thai version.
  10. I had a home visit in September after getting an in-house O visa, around 6 months later had a surprise visit.
  11. The online system remains erratic. My recent online report took 11 hours to approval, the previous one taking 13 days !!
  12. Leeds had most of the possession and shots on target yesterday but still managed to lose on penalties against Salford City ( who ? ) yesterday. Despite a good away win at Ipswich last weekend they are still struggling to find form and hit the net, this weekend’s clash with Wednesday could go either way.
  13. Very nice, some nice performance EV’s appearing from China with the BYD Seal, MG X Power and now this. Talking about the Seal, latest rumour is some right wheel drive versions have been spotted at the docks in China heading for …. ?
  14. My memory fails me on the Fulham question …….. but i was only 2 1/2 years old ????
  15. Whether Yinn was a male or female ( or one of the other 50 genders now available ) is not important but it certainly got some of the more sensitive posters hot under the collar even a few years later !! Maybe “ Lee” is the Yinn imposter ???? ( actually i believe Yinn was who she said she was ) . Seems a little strange some insecure posters are now scouring other sites on the Net to see their pseudonyms in text in some kind of virtual false pride ritual ? How fickle have we become .
  16. I have ventilated seats, paid under 1 million baht.
  17. I just watched this, it was definitely average and I would give it a 6.0 rating. The best part was when Ten Years After kick in , unfortunately that’s in the last 5 minutes.
  18. For LFP batteries it is also recommended to let drop to around 10% ( stay close to home ????) and charge to 100% occasionally ( once every 3 months I think ) to balance the battery and get the best from it.
  19. Yes, I missed your “ In towns “ comment earlier, hence my Shell link. A new Central where I live has around 10 CS’s, on my frequent visits ( daughter in law worked there) only ever seen 1 car charging, often zero. As you say, locals will charge at home and maybe day trippers will charge while eating but majority will charge on the road if required.
  20. Shell have other ideas . https://www.shell.co.th/th_th/motorists/shell-recharge-hpc.html#
  21. Yes, I’ve seen that also, a couple of hundred baht at some dealerships. The dynamic range update was supposedly in the 1.6 OTA in Australia but apparently it didn’t work and the 1.6 OTA was pulled until some issues were sorted.
  22. Well it’s definitely different. Keep us informed of any further outcome on this matter.
