  1. It is something to consider definitely especially if travelling on a busy/holiday weekend. I have been hanging back from placing an order for an EV for this very reason, in fact i have been deliberating which option would be best for me for quite a while now. (I’m the man who put the “ pro “ in procrastination ). Originally I was decided on an Atto 3 with an estimated, based on my driving style, range of around 380 - 400 km, but that didn’t seem like enough as my frequent middle length journeys are around a 420 km round trip and would have liked just a little bit more. So then i decided on an HEV for the longer trips and a small EV ( Dolphin or even Neta V ) for the local stuff. But, I am the only driver in a family of 4 so it seemed overkill to have two vehicles. Decisions , decisions …….. what to do ?? Then it appeared, BYD Seal Premium with a 650 km ( realistically 550 ? ) range , when I saw it i knew it was the car for me, can’t fault it on any level, beautiful design and a great price. Just waiting now on delivery, quoted around 40 days. So, yes, an EV needs more deliberation than an ICE and I think there will be a lot of choices in the next couple of years with Changan arriving shortly and I think Neta will up their game here.
  2. That is interesting, as is Child Forgetting Detection !! Fingerprint scanners have been discussed recently, wonder if that’s what it means here ? Don’t see anything similar on Thai ( Rever) website.
  3. Yes, 6 colours in the U.K. and 2 interior choices ( black and blue) but only 2 versions available ( Premium and Performance equivalents ). Think the Dynamic version will be the worst seller imho, almost like they put a lesser version out there for the lower “ starting from “ price then drop that version, like MG did with ZS and HS. The green colour is nice, saw a video of the MG X Power in a nice green too, even the Neta V looks better in the mint green.
  4. Yes, only the black colour interior here. Also Australia has an additional exterior colour, a more traditional shade of grey. https://bydautomotive.com.au/seal https://www.reverautomotive.com/
  5. I did see my 1st Seal in the wild today, going north just before Nakhon Sawan there was a transporter with around 5 Dolphins and a white Seal at the back. Just as I was pointing out the Seal to the little lady another white Seal shot past me at quite a pace !! The 2nd one looked like a test drive car as it had “ Seal, Drive into the Future” ( or words to that effect ) on the side. Neither were AWD. Was hoping to see a Seal on the drive up to the outlaws when for a split second I was between two !
  6. Any Seal owners who like the white colour but also fancy something black on top occasionally here’s a suggestion for you 😬 @Bandersnatch ??
  7. One thing I have noticed in recent years on some new cars is that the bonnet/hood protrudes closer to the windscreen ( maybe for aerodynamic reasons ? ) and means that the windscreen wipers cannot be lifted away from the screen when in their “ down “ position as they hit the bonnet. There is usually a mode to stop the wipers in the fully up position and therefore okay to pull away from the screen for changing wiper blades or cleaning the screen etc, my last two cars have this mode. Frequent careless lifting up by the gas station attendant or car wash assistant can damage the painted edge of the bonnet. Reading the Atto 3 FB groups has brought up a connected issue, on 3 or 4 occasions i have seen posters mention that their wipers have been hitting the bonnet under normal operation and causing damage to the painted edge, which then involves a return to the dealer for adjustment and a paint touch up. One to watch out for @Pib
  8. I imagined that it was the PHEV version even though I knew they had an ICE version too but had forgotten. I bought my current car , a HEV, as an ex display model and saved 154k , I thought that was good but 360k ( or 320k on the minor updated version) for the Turbo X is a great deal for anyone in the market.
  9. MG cutting the price again !! That’s a healthy discount , especially on the Turbo X . EDIT: Apparently these are display models with 0 km , maybe making room for a facelift ? Apparently there has been a minor change already and the display models are original and minor change ( minor change a bit more expensive ).
  10. Well someone didn’t like the Seal !! Selling, on FB, a Premium in black for 1,370,000 baht with 1,100 km on the clock, with glass coating and film, reason gave …… prefers a SUV 😳
  11. Björn takes the honda e:Ny1 for a 1000 km challenge. He’s not impressed .
  12. Yes, the EV race is heating up ! Putting Honda even further behind !
  13. I too am following some of the Thai Seal groups and they are not shy about making some changes to their cars as soon as leaving the showroom, here’s another couple of options: Or this one which some might say is a step backwards !!
  14. Just discovered this, a little late but loving it . Penny Dreadful (2014 - 2016 ) 3 seasons. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2628232/?ref_=ext_shr_lnk Vampires, werewolves, Dr Frankenstein c/w monsters plus all sorts of evil beings in this drama/fantasy/horror starring Josh Hartnett, Timothy Dalton, Rory Kinnear, Harry Treadaway and Billie Piper with plenty of other “ I know the face but can’t remember the name “ actors. If you like a bit of blood and gore , plus quite a lot of graphic nudity, then this is for you.
  15. Neta V announced a 50k discount ! Do they know something we don’t about a Seagull landing on Thai shores ?? Are they clearing stock for a new facelift model ?? https://carnewschina.com/2023/08/03/neta-aya-launched-in-china-with-401-km-of-range-starts-at-10300-usd/ Or is it just in response to MG dropping the prices ?? NOTE: the small print does say “ 50k discount when booking and receiving the car before 30th Oct “
  16. Want to buy an EV here in Thailand but worried about flooding ?, have no fear the solution could be close at hand .
  17. First the VS HEV , then the MG4 and now the ZS EV is discounted. MG setting the trend, let’s hope others follow .
  18. Had some decorative panels stone clad a few years ago. First panel completed by the leader of the 2 man team : After I had given the okay he said he would start on the other 2 . Had to go out but when we returned his “ assistant “ proudly showed us her handiwork on panel number 2 !!
  19. JS story: A quote by one of his victims: ” I think in his sick mind he believed that doing good somehow cancelled out his deplorable acts “ ( or words to that effect ) seemed very plausible. PS story: I had read/heard a few times that he had been interviewed 5 times prior to his arrest, was surprised to hear in this drama that he was interviewed 9 times !!
  20. Agree, British Horror Story brought it all home, the level of adoration he achieved from major politicians to Royal Family, from high ranking police to high ranking BBC officials, from academics to Joe public !! He fooled so many and so many chose to turn a blind eye !! Essential viewing.
  21. Now watching Who is Erin Carter?, an action crime adventure tv series . https://www.imdb.com/title/tt18075020/?ref_=ext_shr_lnk ” Erin Carter, a British teacher in Spain, finds herself caught up in a supermarket robbery. When one of the robbers claims to recognize her, her life threatens to unravel. In Palomino, a town of secrets, she must fight to clear her name and protect her family. “ This started off a little amateurish but towards the end of the first episode I took a liking to it and will persevere.
  22. Started to watch Obituary: ( crime drama tv series ) https://www.imdb.com/title/tt23458434/?ref_=ext_shr_lnk “ 24-year-old Elvira Clancy is feeling unfulfilled, although she adores her job writing obituaries. When her newspaper falls on hard times, her boss tells her he is unable to keep her on the payroll and she finds herself being paid per obituary overnight... When she "accidentally" kills a nasty piece of work in the town, she discovers she might have an untapped blood lust. She relishes using ever more crafty methods to kill off the town's unpleasant residents while making them look like accidents. Unfortunately, a wrench lands in the works - the paper hires a suspicious new crime correspondent with a penchant for conspiracy theories, and she really, really likes him. “ The premise for this sounded good and I thought I would enjoy it but I just didn’t care for the cast especially the main character Elvira, anyone watch this and liked it ?
  23. No problem at all, just saying as it is a different method to jumpstart, if required, I thought it handy to know. Early doors meaning, early in the ownership of the vehicle. No ulterior motive intended, have not seen any mention of the 12v battery being problematic, only wished to pass on useful information.
