No,mon ami. Woolworth went skint a good few years ago. And the sad part is, that it wasn't for astronomical money. Someone like sir Paul Mc Cartney, could have saved the company with all his billions. When F.W. Woolworth went down the pan people lost a lot. The ladybird label was always good for mums who never had a lot of money. The Easter egg isle, was a kids heaven. Also cheap but reliable electrical goods, like sound systems and stuff. When we lost Woolies, we lost a great company. I will never understand why the millionaires of the UK never banded together to save it.The book section was second to none, also the audio section was great, and the film section. It was reasonably priced and within every ones price range. It was an off shoot of the American 5&10 cent stores. I can remember when it advertised "everything for sixpence". You could buy a pair of running shoes for a shilling. One shoe was sixpence, and so was the other. I even remember the big tubes that used to suck up the money in a can. Fabulous days. The like of which we will never see again. Woolies and Joe Lyons eating houses, where tomato soup and a crusty bread roll was fourpence.
RIP Woolworths.
There's a strong rumour on the net that Woolworths is gonna make a come back !!
Although Woolies in the Uk disappeared it was still doing business in Mexico and I believe in Australia ( not 100% sure ).
Anyway if Woolies does make an appearance in the high street I will be in there for some pic 'n' mix !! -
Take care guys !!
It's just a ploy to deport farangs working without a WP !! -
Would you have drank the blood with a large splash of vodka though? I think I would tbh. Will stick it on the list actually.
Probably not ! , higiene wasn't high on the market sellers list.
I only ate the snake cos I was egged on by my colleagues [emoji16] -
I reckon snake could be a tasty one. Anyone ever?
I was at a night market in Taiwan years ago. Big cage full of snakes, pick your own, they swing it round their heads and smack its head against a pole to stun/kill it then slit it's throat and squeeze the blood out.
They then skin it and cook it , the buyer drinks the blood as the snake is cooking.
I was watching and the guy offered me the snake blood, no way !!, I did eat some of the snake with him though, it was okay .
Have had it since in China, it's okay, not great not bad ! -

It doesn't say which arm he lost (and you can't tell from any of the photos). I assume it is the right arm, which was extended outside the vehicle's right-side window and he was operating the steering wheel with his left hand (if he had his hand on the wheel at all). And my remark is based on the fact that I was a PI lawyer, and probably handled over 100 upper extremity amputation cases.
Good PI Lawyer !!
It clearly states left arm in the OP !! -

There was also a myth that Roger Moore lived in the posh house in the small village I grew up in.
Everyone ( in the village ) believed it and to this day many still do !
Well I posted the question in the Facebook group for the village and people are fighting over themselves as to where exactly he lived during his modelling days in Leeds !!
Apparently someone's mother-in-law still has his curtains [emoji23][emoji23] -
No votes for Dalton ?
Not really surprised [emoji51] -

yes but wasn't he also quoted as having played bass on Gerry Rafferty's Baker Street which is
?. I had heard that , but believed it to be an urban myth.
According to Mr Google there are 3 people claiming credit for starting that myth:
Some London radio DJ who did a phone in show.
Some editor for NME Magazine.
The Scottish saxophonist Raphael Ravenscroft who actually plays sax on Baker Street. !!

I was born in 61 so grew up with Sean and Roger as Bond, Roger was the one that I liked the most , couldn't really say why.
After he gave up the role I lost interest in Bond but must say I have enjoyed Daniel Craig in the role especially in his last two movies. -
for what?
Bit of a pub quiz question " who first played James Bond ? " people always say Sean Connery , but then the answer is Bob Holness who played him on the radio before Connery.
This is the first I've heard of Barry Nelson I must say, although he is listed on the net as the first Bond ( in some lists ), this puts Bob Holness into second place . [emoji4] -
Let's not forget Bob Holness of Blockbuster fame !!

I hope she gets it ready bottled. Some job to collect the secretions. I had it in my (somewhat warped) mind that snails were chucked into a blender, flick the switch and there you have it.
Yes ready bottled [emoji16]
I did suggest I could " milk " the snails for their secretion but I don't have a WP !
Shhhhh, that's Colonel Sanders secret recipe you're talking about there [emoji51] -
Thank Buddha there was only the one passenger, not a full bus load.
At 31 you would think he should know better. The police should test his blood to see what he was on, I guess they can find lots of it splattered inside the van I would think.
I hope the injured person is not serious, and can make a full recovery.
RIP Jureerat.
2 were killed ( the driver being one) and several were injured. -
Can someone explain what snail whitening cream is all about? I have only really noticed it in the last 12 months or so. What part/s of the snail have the whitening effect?
Apparently it's the secretion filtrate that has the " miracle " whitening effect.
Very big in Korea and most of SEA .
My gf sells it on the net !! -

RIP Roger
I grew up with The Saint and The Persuaders, great stuff, not forgetting his Bond movies of course. -

Read the news article (post 18) and enlighten yourself.
I am now corrected.
But I don't think I was that far off, the van was tailgating the pickup and the pickup swerved to avoid the cleaning truck, the van didn't make it.
