I don't know what you are getting at, so let's get back to your RINO accusation. Historically the Republican Party has been strong on national defense and NATO, advocated tough policies to contain the USSR/Russia, advocated free trade, favored expanding legal immigration and wasn't too concerned about illegal immigration. The current Republican Party has done a reversal on these areas. McConnell is old school Republican. The current Republican Party is the RINO.

Geez, are you being deliberately obtuse? You asked about smooth surfaces, I proposed one way to achieve them. You rough out the granite into whatever shape you want with chisels, hammers, rocks or whatever then use sand or other gritty material to smooth the surfaces. I find that a lot easier to believe than the idea of space aliens showing up on earth as construction workers.

I have cousins who are stone masons working in the grave stone business. They achieve very smooth surfaces on granite, a real mirror shine.

So don't use a chisel. Use rough sand and hand held wooden blocks to polish the rough faces smooth. BTW: Builders in medieval Europe lifted heavy blocks very high in the air when constructing Cathedrals. They used cranes made of wood, rope and pulleys. The tools weren't that different from those used a thousand years earlier.

Why would the accuracy have been impossible? It would have been difficult and time consuming, but in between planting and harvesting agrarian societies had lots of surplus labor accustomed to doing hard physical labor.

You clearly did not understand "This old chestnut". When industries "cut" costs by dumping toxins and other waste into the ground, air and water the costs don't disappear, they are shifted to society. That is a very expensive subsidy allowed polluters. A carbon tax, done properly, would eliminate that subsidy.

Just as I regard the Democrats as being the lesser of two evils in most elections, I regard McConnell as being the lesser of the two evil camps in the current Republican Party; the rational camp that I disagree with on many things, and the batsh*t crazy camp that currently dominates the party.
