My recommendation - don't skimp on the window tint film, go with a high quality ceramic version, they are worth every penny additional cost. The best films reflect the light, not absorb it - in the latter case, it totally negates the intended purpose as the light will be converted into heat, and because most films are a very dark color, they get very hot - think black floor vs. white floor tiles. That freebee film might just not be that good of a deal after all......... I decided to get 40 on the windshield, front doors 60, and 80 for all the rest, incl. roof........ compromise based on wifey's desire to go 40 all around. -

I have to admit I find very little that that bloke says of value - he is trying to make a living on YT so he has to get clicks.......... and of course he is closet Teslafanboy, his denials notwithstanding! -

Definitely NOT one pedal driving, one of the points criticized about the Seal. Its just a different driving philosophy, more akin to a standard car. It does have brake blending, i.e. it does regen when braking. -

There are ever so many subtle differences between the EU spec Seal and what is sold in Thailand - e.g. we get 2 GB per month free Internet (10 GB for EU) the interior is in black only, the center console is downgraded, the rear view mirror is standard (frame-less in EU) the V2L is 2.2 KW here, 3 KW in the EU, the on board AC charger is 7 KW here, 11 KW in the EU, etc......... still an exceptional value. Signed up for the Performance version, delivery middle of next week from Phetchaburi dealer, 15 minutes from where we live. -

It appears the Chinese manufacturers are loath to get challenged for dumping products as the French car companies have their panties in a tangle........ with vehicle prices like this in Europe, the EU anti-dumping probe will be another demonstration how to screw their own people -

Our sales girl hinted at this range, but I discounted it as unrealistic. If this is in fact the price range, it will put insane pressure on the Tesla M3. -

Just test drove the BYD Seal performance (3.8S) - done deal if they pay enough for my MB trade in ???? My biggest gripe is the black interior (no other color option). They also replaced the piano-black middle console cover with a drab plastic cover - why on earth this was decided on is beyond me, looks so much cheaper. Compared to the Tesla Model 3 LR, the ride is close, acceleration is on par, everything inside is more high quality, it has a real instrument cluster in the dash, the heads up display is very nice, build quality is excellent...... and it looks a lot better. The 'space grey' color is drop dead gorgeous. -
Are you thinking of buying a BYD EV?

Interesting idea - apparently the plan is to sell BEV below the price pint of C-segment ICE vehicles, chiefly because they plan on using the tax incentives offered by the Thai government for this purpose........giving it to the customers, instead of pocketing it as additional profit? -

I didn't know that von der Leyen is trying to meddle in the electric vehicle business in Thailand - is she? Even after 103 pages, the topic is still 'Electric Vehicles in Thailand' - why do some fanatics constantly try to bring in their narrow minded political blabber? Sometimes I cant help but think they must be paid for doing it. -

I much prefer the light colored interior, the black one loses a lot of the design appeal, mimicking the drab German coal-mine obsession. -

The elephant in the room is the installer, or the lack of service they will provide should you have a problem during the warranty period, or even more so 10 or more years after installation........... ask me how I know.....lol With that said, find an installer that has plenty of experience installing solar systems - its a very very simple job for installers with plenty of system installs under their belly. Ask for referrals of prior installations in your neck of the woods. Once you found a handful of installers, specify tier-1 equipment (Huawei inverter, Longi, Jinko or equivalent panels etc) then squeeze them for the lowest price, take the lowest bidder. A mid-sized system should have a payback of less than 4 years - thanks to high electricity prices. Don't install a hybrid battery system, they will never pay back the investment - but there might be other reasons why batteries make sense. One more comment about installers: I have yet to meet one that knows anything about maximizing efficiency of the solar array, that's why they are called installers.

Here is a solid support for the worn out claim the Chinese are stealing technology from Western companies..........NOT! https://carnewschina.com/2023/08/02/germans-are-waiving-the-white-flag-in-china-as-vw-plans-to-use-ev-platforms-from-leapmotor-saic-and-xpeng/ -

That's a matter of taste - I like the BYD Seal interior, certainly much superior to the Ikea interior of the Tesla! -
