UK Tax Scam
I think it was probably the case that the guy in the HMRC call centre could only see records for the last four years on his screen and therefore was in no position to judge years prior to that. I would not take that that to mean there could be no claim beyond four years.

Honda HR-V 2023 alternatives
The wheels and grille must be available as spare parts for the EL so you could certainly order and fit those. Remember to budget for a set of tyres and fitting.

ICE vs EV, the debate thread
OK. We use on average 7 kwh per day here. Presumably you run air con much of the time; or alternatively are smelting steel or running a desalination plant.

So you sized your solar system wrong?

Water pump keeps running even after pressure switch turns off
The Mitsubushi pump like yours has two switches. It has a pressure switch and a flow switch. The flow switch has encapsulated electronic components and is immediately before the pump outlet. The pressure switch is adjustable although the manufacturer tells you not to touch it. Nothing you can service on the flow switch.

2nd hand motorcycle: older but well-known brand vs newer Bajaj or GPX bike
I would stick with the Japanese brands. Honda have excellent parts support on older models in my experience. I cannot speak for the other Japanese brands as I have not owned them in Thailand.

Exorbitant payment processing fees for AirAsia flights
I don't. I get to the total price and then I decide whether I am willing to pay it.

Electric Vehicles in Thailand
One of the key ingredients of performance and handling is weight; or rather the lack thereof. Current EVs fall down in that area though I don't doubt weight will come down as battery technology improves. To take one example the Lotus Eletre weighs more than two and a half tonnes. Colin Chapman must be rolling in his grave.

Exorbitant payment processing fees for AirAsia flights
I use Air Asia frequently and I just look at the total cost for the flight.

Is my jazz stuttering because I’m using 91 gasohol?
The IDSI is the one with eight spark plugs which people hate replacing because they are expensive. Do you know the service history? I think the plugs are lifed at 100,000 km but the service schedule will tell you. I am not saying it is the plugs. Based on the little information you have given it could be many different things. It will run fine on 91 or 95 assuming the fuel is not contaminated or old.

Proof of Thai address
Santander are a pain. They have tried to shut down my account three times now. My account remains open as I fought them tooth and nail each time. The third time I wrote to them or called them on a daily basis for over a month before they caved in. Banks will provide statements; or to be more exact Siam Commercial and Government Savings did in my case. The statements look incredibly Mickey Mouse. A bit like something you knocked up at home with a cheap printer and a rubber stamp bought at a local market but they were accepted as valid by Santander. Both banks were happy to put whatever address I wanted on the statements based on zero evidence. Evidence of address from Immigration is also worth pursuing. I think in theory that should be free but assume tea money will be involved plus possibly a translation cost. I now have two back up bank accounts in the UK that I opened recently. If they function smoothly over a period of time I will drop Santander.

Ride-On Lawn Mower
Not sure where the photo went! If you Google Honda 3011H you can easily find photos.

Ride-On Lawn Mower
This is what I have been using for the last decade. This photo was taken on the day I bought it. It is a Honda 3011H bought secondhand. I paid about 45K and then a further 10K to get it working the way I wanted including new tyres and battery. Transmission is hydrostatic which is desirable if it is made by Honda. Very high quality, very reliable, well designed and does an excellent job. Try here: https://www.truck.in.th/ Look for mower section https://www.truck2hand.com/ For me a better choice than a Chinese mower at 100K.

The price war on EVs may harm interests of customers
Fanta is a brand of the American Coca Cola company. It was created during WW2 and Coca Cola profited handsomely from selling it in Nazi Germany during the war.

gasoline price
In Chumphon province. My most common journey by far is a 52 km round trip. About half of it is on Phetkasem road where I typically drive at 100 to 110 kph. The rest is on fairly quick two lane highway where I drive at 80 to 100 kph. I think one factor that contributes to the Celerio's fuel economy is that the manual version only weighs 785 kg.
-
gasoline price
Suzuki Celerio manual. 22.9 km/litre. 36 Baht per litre = 1.57 Baht per km. I could get better fuel economy than that if I tried.

Perhaps. But it is also very funny given all the BS Nigel has been peddling over the last few days.

Police wrap up 15 murder and attempted murder cases against suspected serial cyanide killer
Having Googled the word I see that it is from the mangled version of English used by Americans. That explains why I was not familiar with it.
