    So think some people...

China probably has much more than it says, while the US has much less...if any...

    I agree.

A bar-girl friend - who is a disciple of Max Keiser - informed me that they have close to 50k tonnes.

As for the US. In the most recent audit, during Pres' Reagan's office, it was established that US had 15k tonnes, of which 4 tonnes were being looked after for other countries, and 10k tonnes were in private hands. These private hands were the FED, the IMF and other private US banks (most of which are owed by the English).

The people of India have between 4 -6% of the world's gold (though not all in the form of pure gold).

The idea about physical gold is you possess it. Full stop.

The first thing in a time of war etc is the government will freeze all banks and safe deposits.

Don't buy now, wait for calmer times, buy low.

Bury it deep, trust no one.

However, make sure son or wife (forget the Thai variety) know where it is!

Mouth shut at all times. Never breathe a word about it.

    Forget banks and deposit boxes.

Also remember, the tax man doesn't know about it which is very important.

What good sound sense and advice.

BUT!!!!!!!!!! Now is the time to buy.

If the Chinese virus starts killing millions; the US war machine decides to strike for oil in in Venezuela, or somewhere else, the EU implodes, or China has enough of US interferences. Israel goes to war with Iran, or Turkey with Russia (bringing in NATO). You will not see change from treble it is now. And consider, the China virus cannot be solved by printing trillions of dollars.

Not sure what you would need to buy gold in the future: Bitcoin, Yuan (backed by gold). Definitely not the Dollar or Euro which will be long gone. We would probably return to goods for goods.

"Forget banks and deposit boxes." Absolutely!! We must stay clear of any authority on this, or they will come for us. Army, state police and private militia.

A word of caution. My friend Aussie Mark died 4 years ago and his ex and her family are still digging in their farm for the buried gold. Went past his old house recently, and they were out with metal detectors and a small JCB. Only give the map to a trusted family member or friend. Better still cut the map and directions into pieces and give them to people you trust.

Simply not true.  Armenia, Canada, Croatia, Georgia, Israel, Ivory Coast, Kosovo, Montenegro, New Zealand, Norway and Panama hold none.  Other countries such as China and Japan have minuscule amounts (< 2.5% of their reserves).

Those countries with low allocations to gold often have sovereign wealth funds, investing in equities which (a) provide income, and (b) will reliably increase in capital value over the long term.  In other words, they invest their money.

And for those countries that hold it, it's not as an investment, but as protection against the potential ravages of local currency inflation.

China has 23,000 tonnes of gold.

  4. This is a terrible situation @silentsal. Heartbreaking; it really cut me up.

Two days ago two of our kittens went missing. We found one about half a kilometer away. It was all black and had a nasty head wound. The other was a three colour, short-tail kitten. Looking for it everywhere.

    Very sad.

The charge is contrary to Section 14(2) of the Computer Crimes Act BE 2550 (2007) namely:

Section 14. If any person commits any offence of the following acts shall be subject to imprisonment for not more than five years or a fine of not more than one hundred thousand baht or both:

    (2) that involves import to a computer system of false computer data in a manner that is likely to damage the country’s security or cause a public panic;

Yes, the act predates the coup of 2014, as it does her comments.

    That's cleared that up then.

Five years in the monkey, Better than being suicided I guess.

I want to thank you @isaan sailor for this tip off. I net searched "Level 4 secret virus lab".

Very interesting. You just may have added pieces to the puzzle that I was wondering about.

And when this vaccine does arrive there will be a tiny microchip that gets lodged in the skin. The start of the decline of the human race.

To the members of TVForum I beseech you; refuse the jab. That way we can keep one step ahead of the rest of the world.

    Humans; get off your knees.

@owl sees all Thanks for the updates! Did you end up with a new laptop or was the old one able to be fixed?

The old one was kaput. Not even able to recover the hard drive data. It was a bit grubby, but I cleaned it up like new for the repair shop, with the hose pipe and scrub brush. It had Windows 7 ultimate, which I had mastered over the years.

This new one is an Acer Aspire 3, with Windows 10, cost 8900 Baht but got a nice bag, which Mildred has already claimed for her school books. I was so used to my old laptop that I'm finding the new one a challenge. To start with I had Adobe Photoshop before and now I'm using paint. Just no comparison!! Mildred thinks 'Paint' is OK though.

But, I'm getting there. Probably just the same as most farang on TVForum, I used the same web-sites all the time (my research days are long gone). And Windows 10; a backward step. Windows XP was the nuts.

  8. At the pinnacle of Spurs history - the double season - Liverpool were a second division club. Leeds and Forest have both been firmly at the top. Villa, Derby, Blackburn, Ipswich and Portsmouth too have had their spells.

Not all clubs can keep at the top for decades. Bayern, R Madrid, Barca and both Celtic and Rangers have topped their leagues consistently, but their leagues not as competitive when compared to the English top flight.

Only a short time ago, there was a sequence of 8 years when Arsenal and Man U shared the top two places. To be honest, I'd rather Spurs be relegated than Bournemouth, who IMO might never get back. Whereas Spurs could bounce straight back with a new team in place.

With 10 games remaining Mou has  to win all.  to  beat Pochs  2018/19  71 epl points(4 th place)

where is the improvement since Poch.s sacking by Levy

Poch deserves a  bravery medal for lasting 5 seasons under Levy.s dictatorship at Totts .   Since Levy arrived around 2000/2001  he has shafted  approx  12 mngrs

(from memory certainly can be corrected) and has won two  league cups????

From a neutral i know who needs to be shafted

    LEVY

Just who do these blinkered Spurs fan see as the demon?

Runner up to a lucky Liverpool in Champ's League is not too shabby.

Poochy is a fine manager. I'd have him back at Saints any day. Morreen is yesterday's man. Saves his best work for RT.

Top 6 is OK for most teams. Look how long Liverpool went without the EPL title. Didn't hear their fans whining and grining. Have to wake up and smell the coffee sometimes. If the sleeping giants Everton and Wolves can get anywhere near their potential the natural order will change and top 4 will be tantalizing for some. Some think it's their right to be in there.

When a club moves into a new stadium it often takes a while to adjust. Arsenal and WHU know this only too well.

All true. I particularly always admire the Geordies who've won nowt for years, have a very unpopular owner but have massive support.

However Spurs are considered one of "the big 6", with the 8th highest revenue IN THE WORLD, and as such should be winning trophies - but they dont.

Interestingly; after winning the league in the very early 1970's, Everton were considered to be - alongside Man U - the most successful English club ever.

And only recently Man City were in the third tier.

    How times can change!

Unremarkably Spurs season was over with the penalty miss last night.

It will be 13 years without a trophy by the time the next winnable trophy comes along (Caraboa cup).

    Standard huh.

What is this paranoia about trophies?! The majority of football clubs have never won a trophy; and never will.

Some of us just want to see good football, an exciting game and the occasional win or two.

OSA got the result spot on. Dunno if he counts as a Sours fan tho' as he seems to have a number of allegiances sometimes. Bangrak was the only other who predicted the win.

Should have made the Spurs - WW game my banker. Instead of those unpredictable Toffeemen.

Now I've got my new computer I'll be charging up the table like Watford.

    Come on you 'O's!!

  13. The Reds had an eye on the Champions League. They think they have the EPL easily sewn up. They have been extremely fortunate this year, especially at home where all the decisions have gone their way. And these dodgy decisions, against the opposition,  started against Arsenal; remember.

Have to focus now. City are waiting for them to slip up. This result will give other clubs confidence to rip them apart.

Should have ground shared with Everton.
