Where is all this going? Nowhere!!
The UK helped create this Saudi monster. The US is using it for its own ends and the rest of the world is 'tut, tutting'. "Oh isn't it terrible?"
Take away their oil and they would be riding across the desert on their camels again.
Venezuela; you're next for regeim change. We want your luvvely oil. Watch this space!
Wasn't it Bush (junior) that said; "Don't know what god was thinking, putting all US's oil under other countries' land!"

No SooKee I don't have a TW account, and thought of opening one, BUT posters report different outcomes when they review their bank statements after using TW..........some notations say International Transfers (or similar) others don't????????
Open one up and try for yourself. If the Thai banks are different to the other posters you could come up trumps.
I joined TW right at the start. They lost their Thai agent in the early days, and stopped business. After 6 months they were on the go again. Trouble-free since.
This is reletively early days for 'peer to peer'. I'm sure others will join in soon.
Try: Azimo, Currency Direct, currencyfair, and Dee (I've recently registered with them). Just send a tenner. Suck it and see. It's the best way to find out.

Basically you get what you paid for, unless the money did not arrived in the overseas account. The why is NOT important.
To understand how 'peer to peer' works goes part way in understanding the transaction's (transfers) origins, and their non-acceptance by the Thai authorities. Although I'm not at all sure that they could understand 'peer to peer' anyway.

I thought that Spurs under Harry could have took the Prem. it was not to be; and Bale and Modric are no longer in Nth London (as with others). Their 4-0 defeat of Liverpool was a great performance. One of the best in many years, IMO, from a Spurs outfit.
Perhaps when they eventually move into the new WHL things will propel them to the top (last there early 1960s)?
The Utd v Spurs game was the most anticipated match in the 1960s. A North v South encounter.
Utd just needed a steady hand on the wheel. Spurs need a proper home.
I'd rather Spurs jogged along near the top playing good footy, than just winning once and then fading into obscurity (Blackburn, Leicester).

I think we are getting over-complicated.
I agree "TransferWise is not in the business of providing people with the proper visa documentation". But it does not transfer money. It acts as a facilitator., and for a small(ish) fee allows currency to be moved within countries, once a 'deal' on the exchange rate is struck between the parties.
The reason it states the mid-range rate is because that is the fairest for all parties involved.

It is the weather. A decent bit of wind or a few downpours would sort it.
Who exactly is in charge of the Thai weather forecasting?
Too easy to blame the farmers.

I'm in no way a Utd fan, but I think they are on their way back to the very top.

The vast majority of the world's currency does not physically exist. Most of the world's currency is simply marks on pieces of paper or digits on computer screens.
Very little currency actually gets moved anywhere. That is true of virtually any country.

Not sure what is in the contract, but it just seems the guy is going overboard. The embassy is there police and who know who else and he is ignoring them all. Those are not the actions of a guy in his right mind. Staying locked in all the time, no food getting in. Sounds a lot like someone who lost the plot. Its not as if this is going to away automatically and the guy is just ignoring it all.
If someone could get a message to this poor guy, to join TVForum and let us help him. That's if the mokadons have not cut off his internet.

Transferwise acts as a temporary trustee for two (or more) parties wishing to move funds from one place to another (does not have to be International, can be within a country).
You are in UK (say) and I am in Thailand (say). You want to send money to your account in Thailand from the UK, and I want to send money from my account in Thailand to the UK.
We agree on a rate, and you send me 1000 (say) and I send you the equivalent. The two transactions are local. They are simply matched at an agreed rate.
Transferwise acts as the intermediary. And charges a fee,

So sad. I feel sorry for this chap. All he seemed to want was a receipt for dosh he had handed over. Brave guy, sticking to his principles, while the world looks on.

Corbyn?
You really think he will do anything to rock the boat?
Yes, expect more "friends" from various terror groups becoming more friendly.
But anything else from this figure's mouth is pure filth.
I sense you are not so keen on him.
What is this 'filth' bro'?
Perhaps the next PM.

When someone says "Sorry" it is an admission of guilt. Doesn't mean they are really sorry or will do anything about it. It is the standard Thai answer to anything they do wrong, then forget about it.
Couldn't "sorry" mean simply "sorry you are suffering"?
I don't see what the Junta/authorities can actually do once the smog has arrived. Tell everyone to put their fans on - facing outwards - open their windows, and blow it away. I don't think this solution will work. Cloud seeding? Restrict farting? Drones and molasses. Stopping people smoking? Stop all traffic?
Long term planning and commitments are required to help with the smog.
Bangkok is doomed anyway. Just let it slip into the bay.

No jacko. I have no need to go to immigration. My 90 day report is not done in person. My pic was sent in an email.
The agent I use has 300 farang clients.

It depends on which method you used to renew the Extension in November.
If it was over 65k coming in per month and that continues, you are OK
If you had 800k sitting in a Bank here, and that stays there the same, you are OK.
I used the services of an agent. When would I be asked to give details of the non-existent 800k; if at all?
-
I obtained my visa (retirement) at the end of November. Can I sit pretty and watch developments during the next months, or, am I also vulnerable to the IO whims?

So, did no one ask him what the reason for the downgrading was? Given that it was not, in his (Chan-o-cha) opinion, the watches.

wrong the money is in the bank on the day of the report
no bank statements are needed under this proposal
you would be proving 800,000 in the bank to support your retirement status not by way of proof of income
its one or the other NOT both
can get bank letter for 100 baht if needed when money is in
then transfer back via ATM and do not update passbook
No one needs to forge anything , this can be done at a bank everyday, and it does
Frankly you are talking of something that you are misquoting but know very little about
Surely the amount to be shown every 3 months should be 200k. A bit rotten to expect 800k to lie dormant in a Thai bank (forever us do part), and still need a monthly spend.

Oh dear. I had better slash my wrists then. Way too old to get any enjoyment out of wanking.
Nobody on this thread appears to have realised finding a woman who has had her tubes tied is another option. No vasectomy, no condom needed.
Please don't Lacessit. I enjoy your posts.
Are you telling me you would rather go with a woman, than feed beautiful fish? I spend 2 hours a day watching my koi carp swim in and out of the lilly pads and gently slurping down their food. Very relaxing.

When I first moved to Isaan, the Nong Khai office was the best one to go to. They were satisfied with an ATM receipt showing the dosh. A couple of years later I moved, and the office was at Udon Thani, at the airport. What a nightmare it suddenly became. Even doing it straight it was made so difficult.

This could be the start of a new business.
Find someone who wants to send dosh from Thailand to UK. Then the other way. And do the deal. Can use TVForum PM service.
