In the US, our plants got 11 holidays a year, and worked five-days a week, so 249 days a year straight-time. In Thailand, our plants got 17 holidays a year, and worked six-days a week, so 295 days a year straight-time.

Just hide your passport and pretend like you don't speak English. Where are you looking? Typically, the further you get from major urban areas the better. Off season tourist areas are often pretty good.

Owning a condo is not a guarantee you can stay in Thailand forever.

A better question is how much it would cost to rent the condo you are thinking about buying. Advantages and disadvantages to both owning and renting.

Too many variables to provide a good answer, but if you can buy a nice condo and not have to think too much about the money, it might not be a bad idea. If you're planning on dumping your life savings into it, don't.
