  1. That was not the case when My aunt and uncle got off a cruise at Lat Krabang. They got processed off the boat, and back on. We picked them up and drove them around patts and whatnot then took them back. They got us on the boat for lunch and a tour, it was great. That must have been 14-15 years ago. Could not talk my wife into taking a cruise before that, but after she saw the ship and the buffet we went on one every few years since.
  2. I had been doing the online thing, but my last renewal was supposed to be have to be in person as I was over 60 or whatnot. But because of covid, I never actually had to go I got to renew online again, but it ended up a GF anyway and I had to call a half-dozen times to get it done. Next time we go I have to try to get my boy his first CA license, that should be fun...
  3. Back in '79 or '80 I had a CJ360t (like below), not a yammi but a great bike,,,
  4. I don't mind going down there, coffee, then lunch sometimes. I would rather go to CW immigration than the DMV in California.
  5. Were they forbidden? She asked him where he was going and why, and it sounds like dude gave her a bit of attitude. If they ask you something they can see on the screen, all they are doing is checking to see if what you say matches what they see on the screen. It's no wonder so many people seem to have so much difficulty dealing with the civil servants here.
  6. I think a lot of them just like to chat a bit.
  7. I know in the US the occasionally ask a brusk question just to get your reaction.
  8. At my age, I just don't see many unattractive young people.
  9. Dude, what color's your bike? You should get one of those carbon-fiber Iron Man suits to match!
  10. What you quoted: "Studies estimate that wearing a helmet reduces the risk of dying in a crash by 37 to 42%; and. Unhelmeted riders are 3 times more likely than helmeted ones to sustain traumatic brain injuries in the event of a crash." Someone else made a similar claim, posted a link to the "study" and it said nothing of the sort. For every accident with a serious injury, there are 100 with little or no injury. And is this supposed to be data from Thailand or the US or what?
  11. Are you high now? I said the going out for snacks was a munchies/cottonmouth joke, did you miss that? You claim you get high, are you lazy and laying around all day? I used drugs for over twenty years, and pretty much worked every day. Smoked weed during the day, drank and did other drugs at night. And methinks you're a far from the street.
  12. I said eyes, not red eyes. Were you never a pot-head? It's really not that hard to spot. At least people smoking, I can't speak to edibles and whatnot. The having to go out for snacks and whatnot was a munchies/cottonmouth joke.
  13. I used my old DL and pink ID to renew my DL at Bangkok DLT Office Area 4 last year. I did not have, nor was I asked for a C of R.
  14. I have replied each time, and I have asked you each time if you have tried unsuccessfully to use your pink ID and you have refused to answer that simple question. Why should I answer all your questions, when you refuse to answer mine?
  15. Okay, how many road deaths and how many articles do you read? They look stoned. Eyes, facial expression and whatnot. Can't spot them all, and some you think are blazingbe might not be, but it's not that tough. No, but they are often sitting around looking high. Yeah, but they do have to brave the outdoors to re-up on snacks and whatnot.
  16. How do you know what everyone else needs to supply for DLT renewal? Again are you saying you tried to use your pink ID and were unsuccessful?
  17. What percentage of accidents do you think you read about? It would guess it would probably take all day to keep up with reading 1% reading full time. Drunk drivers killing people make much better news than drivers that are not drunk killing people. I think it's easier to spot someone that's burned one than to spot someone that's had a few drinks, and I see people I think are buzzing pretty regularly lately. Yes, hammered-down drunks are very easy to spot, but I almost never see them except the occasional bum outside of seven or whatnot. That said, I don't doubt if I went to bar area at night I would see plenty.
  18. How many girls/women when told by the boy/man that they are dating that he like "thigh-food" would not think it a joke? If you order a quesadilla as a kwee-za-dilla at a Mexican restaurant in SoCal 99% of the staff will know you're joking. The 1% that corrects you? Likely not a lot of fun.
  19. "Yeah fellas, she'll keep-a-ya warm in the winterm maka the shade in the summer! It taka five men ta hug 'er and a box-car ta lug 'er...right down front watch the doorway!"
  20. How would know that the "norm" is for something you only have to do once every five years? Are you saying you tried to use your pink ID and were unsuccessful? This was the first time I renewed in Bangkok, and it included a change of address as my old address and all previous renewals were in Prachinburi. Also watched the video at home online, so I did not have to take it at the office.
  21. Not many non-turbo diesels in Thailand anymore:
  22. So in December my car is significantly more powerful that in May?
  23. Do you mean you are coming in visa exempt?
  24. How much are we talking about? If it's not your "life savings" just get cash and carry it out.
  25. I like the March, but it's a bit long in the tooth. I think the best time to buy a new car, is the second year on a new platform. The bugs are worked out, they typically get juiced a bit, and you get 5-6 years with a care that looks almost new.
