But again, Zelensky had the full support of the US, and the support of most of Europe, and is at an effective stalemate after a million dead and wounded and after a quarter of Ukraine's population have fled the country. What is different now? What is the way forward?

Now remember Biden cancelling sanctions on Russia, including those imposed by Trump to gain favor with Putin. Now remember Biden halting arms sales to Ukraine to gain favor with Putin. Now remember Biden saying that the US would not respond to Russia invading Ukraine, if it were only a minor invasion, further emboldening Putin. The left seemed to care nothing about Ukraine until it became politically expedient for them to use in attacking Trump and to pretend Trump was a Russian asset. The American left would rather see every Ukrainian dead and half of Europe flattened than to see a peace agreement negotiated by Trump.

It is shameful the way Obama threw Ukraine under the bus, and the way the left is sabotaging any chance of a peace agreement.

He has since backpedaled and said he would sign it. What is "everything they want"? Trump could have cut Ukraine off the moment he got into office the way Biden did, but he didn't.

More troublesome for Putin than for Zelensky? About 25% of Ukraine's population has fled, while Russia has lost just a few. It is better from a human standpoint, but not better from a strategic standpoint. And the there are the nukes... I think Zelenski should go back to Trump hat-in-hand, but as that could be seen as a will for Trump, the left won't have it. That's why they sabotaged the meeting to start with.
