I would have stayed in the UK if I knew I was going to get some sort of relief by paying my income tax.   They really should adopt that as a method to induce early payment.

the joke might have gone over my head slightly but I was referring to the furlough scheme in the UK for self employed, the payments are based on previous years earnings, the more tax you paid the more you are entitled to.

as with many self employed in the UK they only seem to make '11k'per year which is tax free, of course in reality their income is alot more than the claimed 11k.

I know they are desperate and need help. But anyone with the slightest bit of brains should see that what the country needs now is a full lockdown with an effective vaccination campaign. So their current demands are somewhat childish.

They could also show concern about what their new jobs will be in the new normal.

And just like @NCC1701A I am(was?) one of their happy customers, but I don't think it is right that prostitution be a significant sector of any country's economy.

You guys support and encourage the bar / prostitute system but also claim it shouldn't be a significant sector or the country's economy!?

There new jobs in the new normal? These girls don't know normal, they unfortunately know farming or bar work and most are useless at actual bar work.

Thailand has for years attracted tourists from europe and america because of the easy bar scene and cheap girls, if that goes they are not many options and its going to take a massive hit.

These 'workers' go unnoticed by the authorities and in most situations they don't acknowledge the true numbers and the amount of money that is exchanged between your standard customer and bar girl, so its hard to imagine that any official financial support is going to be offered to them.

  3. Its almost they are creating events that potentially will need the actual thing they are offering (good marketing)

Tbh its not that dissimilar to what happened in the UK, i had a surgery appointment a few months ago and had to go to the actual hospital ward for a covid test one week before the planned surgery.

1 week later whilst actually waiting for surgery (after isolating for that week) i was passed by other people in the hospital also arriving for their covid test!

So after isolating the actual hospital puts me within 2 meters of people being tested!

Either the hospital does not trust that local testing centres (There was one 1 mile from my house) or what i don't know but totally bizzare!

  4. I've slowly paid that back over time and it was hassle-free.

Perhaps it was hassle free for you but perhaps your friend did not see it quite the same? anyways potentially some motive for doing you over like this.

The traded item (crypto miners) has no relevance to the case, you sent money to a friend for a joint purchase and it never went through. The chances of you getting your money back are very very low.

I would forget about it and move on, otherwise its goiung to sit with you for a while and potentially even cost you more money.

  5. Rather than just listening to the governments telling us to get vaccinated as this will lead us out of lockdown, look at the figures that are already out there.

UK is near the top of the list with over 60% of adult population with two jabs now and we are seeing higher and higher rate of infections

Thailand has very low output of vaccines yet has much lower daily numbers than countries with much higher vaccination rates.

Nobody can make sense of these figures let alone make policy that relates to this virus.

There's absolutely no promotion of any treatment for this virus? The only option is vaccine!

With out looking too much into what an absolute con job the pharmacutical companies and WHO are doing with the governments waiting for their next bit of 'guidance'

  6. My experience after spending alot of time in Thailand in my Thirties, in my mid forties now.

Unless you are over 55 year old or disabled or need nursing day to day care or socially inept in your own country then i would think twice about moving to Thailand at such a young age.

I was going to move to Thailand in my later thirties, had a job lined up etc but never comitted 100% due to other issues, back at home and abroad.

Anyway 7 years later and im glad i never moved there permanently.

However looking forward as a retiree then its really made up for you in Thailand as long as you have a decent wage from retirement coming in and ideally rent from property you own in your own country. Don't ever buy in Thailand, buy in your own country and use the rent obtained to pay your rent in Thailand.

So they dont have any data on the long term immunity....but then again they do have data and it says will only last 3 months before booster needed ?

Which is it and where are you getting the info from ?

Facts only please otherwise stop scaremongering.

The point is its obvious to me that they will be booster jabs just based on the fact that countries are ordering 4 x as many doses as they have actual citizens, so do you think they will throw them away? No they will be used hence the 3 month booster.

Its easy to increase cases just increase testing, the pcr test will find all types of virus in you, cancer etc, however it does not mean that you will suffer from the thing they have found.

Look up Kary Mullis PCR test, you tube and you'll see how they mis interpret information.

  8. This 'fight' against alcohol is a little strange, Ive spent numerous days in Thailand on these Buddha days / no alcohol days and tbh not that im desperate for a drink however its not hard to get served alcohol in many places, however the girly / prossy bars are closed on these days.

So it seems as a Buddhist country which would be more of a scorn on their religion / beliefs, Prostitution or a glass of wine with your meal?

With the Thai authorities unliklely to admit that prostitution is actually going on, they would also like to appease Buddha without actually admitting outwardly to their allowance of such activities.

So rather than saying we are shutting down the prostitution outlets for a couple of days, they alternatively ban alcohol, which just means the girly bars have to remain closed?

widescale vaccinations achieves herd immunity because the virus has no one to infect. Boosters may well be a fact of life as there is no evidence of yet that vaccines protect forever.

You cannot compare the covid vaccine to the already established vaccinations as they are not the same, anyway there is potential that the vaccine could cause even less opportunity for air travel.

From British airways 17th June 20212

'Four members of our pilot community passed away recently. Our thoughts are with their family and friends. However, there is no truth whatsoever in the claims on social media speculating that the four deaths are linked.

Problem is that Thailand is no where near herd immunity through vaccine and an influx of tourists could accelerate the virus, particularly given that Thailand has attracted a large number of Indian tourists of late. The Delta/Indian variant spreads much faster and Thailand has yet to experience a major Covid crisis.

But it’s encouraging to know that “dirty farangs” are now welcome in Thailand.

No ones welcome and no ones likely to go.  You don't achieve her immunity through taking something that lessens your symptoms.  You achieve immunity by being immune!

They don't have any data on the long-term immunity these type of vaccines may provide.

In fact the data is that they last approx 3 months and then you will require a booster jab. Thats probably why the UK has ordered 500m doses last year for their 40m adults.!

  11. From reading your posts in this thread......if i were you then i would probably just do what the gf decides is best, as mentioned women can be a bit bit clicky in Thailand depending on where you come from or your background, so if she is happy there then i am sure it will make your transition alot easier.

I would have thought you would prefer it to KK as there's more options for activities however the tennis stadium is a bit of rip off.

One thing i would ask if you dont mind, is why your gf seemed keener on the move when she heard you were hiring a car?

As a fully vaccinated traveler, I wouldn't care about the unvaccinated. Why would I?

Agree however what we are starting to see and tbh it has been the same message from the start, that being 'vaccinated' does not mean you are vaccinated at all. Tests will be always be needed it would seem.

Having spent an unusual amount of time in and out of hospital this past year in the UK, nothing to do with covid. I was very surprised at the lack of detail in the messaging and tbh what we are supposed to do.

Just as an example, no need to be vaccinated before surgery just had to produce a negative test, I even suggested waiting till i was vaccinated but assured it made no difference by the surgeon

Whilst i was waiting for surgery in hospital they were also doing covid testing for other patients in the same corridor where i was waiting. Even though i had to isolate prioir to surgery they actually mix the untested and tested together, literally less than 1 meter away.

When the message is this clear you know they are upto something. 3rd booster coming maybe 4th.

It was only 10 years ago that the WHO and pharmacutical companies were lambasted for colluding and mis guiding the public. Channel 4 did a feature its still on you tube, search Jon Snow 2010, swine flu scandal.

  13. It was the same few years ago, driving down these little connecting sois and finding 'unofficial' dumping grounds right next to the road, i thought, they don't put this in the brochure!

I was out with some Thai lads once and brought them some water only for them to through the empties straight into the grass next to the road, i guess though that is unfortunately common in many countries not just Thailand but seemed to have a blantant disregard for actually trying to locate a bin.

  14. I'm not sure anyone can update me here but several years ago there was a rubbish dump up on the hill behind soi 112, a couple of km from Emerald Scenery.

Is the rubbish dump still in full operation? does the site around that area that get tainted by any smells on certain days?

Gee mate it would be a daily event.

Here we go, from today's news. Sliced her up, stuffed her in a suitcase and threw her in a river.

Looks relatively mild compared to yesterday's cases.

You would have to be slightly retarded to attack or hit a thai women in pattaya.

Have you ever seen drunk Issan girls in pattaya, once there was an instance where a guy pushed a women and then they proceeded to attack him with their high heeled shoes and left the falang unconscious in a pool of blood!!

Its a daily event though according to Rob Muir above although i think he's trolling for fun.
