Did you use any herbs, or did the Dr offer you alternative medication?

I agree, some is better off as single, also better for the serious girls who want something more out of life than just being a low paid chef, sex toy and cleaner on a leach

Life is easier alone for one who struggle in life, both economic and socially? You see, arguments comes easy at once you start trowing them around 😁

Why not aim for something long term sustainable diet? Calculate your calories maintenance for your weight, and eat balanced 500 calorie deficit, loose half a kg a week eating clean food, balanced 25% protein, 30% fat, 45% carbs? Do aim for move a bit more for every week, do not give up if the weight loss is slow, do not cheat, stop drinking alchohol, drink more water, make sure you get enough sodium, and do the long run passionately and with patience. There is no short cuts, be diciplined and have believe in what you do. Cambridge diet might work, but christ sake, crap food and diet, when you can eat clean tasty food of red meat, chicken, duck, fish, vegetables, fruit, lenses/beans, oat, nuts, virgin oils, and diary produts if you only bother to weigh your food, make your weekly meny for lunch and dinner of your favorite food. Breakfest basic 500 calorie of oats, youghurt, cottage cheese, banana, spoon of jam, a few nuts and chia seeds. A Multivitamin 2000- 2300 calories is alot of food if you eat clean and do not cheat. Good luck Up and go find your favorite exorcize. Rowing is one of the most efficiently activity for weight loss. Most likely the change in diet did the flow wonder while palmetto became the placebo. Serious conditions should be investigated and diognosed properly, not do self diognosis and self medication

Two large, high-quality studies funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), each using a different preparation of saw palmetto, found it was no more effective than a placebo (an inactive substance) for BPH symptoms. Saw palmetto products are made in a variety of ways and differ in composition. Some studies of saw palmetto products other than those used in the NIH-sponsored studies have suggested that they might be helpful for BPH symptoms, but many of these studies were of low quality. No saw palmetto product has been conclusively shown to be effective for BPH https://www.nccih.nih.gov/health/saw-palmetto

At least the Swiss played or tried to play offensive compared to the overpaid Uk stars. Such a cowardly game of them, a shame

How many days travelling? Activities planned to do? Motorbike, passenger of motorbike taxi, diving? -
I would understand if you said "The risk is not worth the joy/pleasure anymore, therefor I decided to quit riding motorbikes on thai roads".

Do you prefer Kellogg's or Nestle Corn Flakes
Hummin replied to jerrymahoney's topic in Western Food in Thailand
Oats and youghurt with fruits from garden kicks of my day. Cornflakes is made for children, so they will eat in a hurry to send them of to school without any hassle. A bad habit and bad treat on the level of child abuse if you ask me. Disgusting and horrible -
Why is Thailand so terrible at sport?

I tend to agree, but as the ESPN article state, some physical efforts is involved just by thinking and the stress a high level game creates. Target shooting with gun and rifle? Do you need physical effort to pull a trigger? More than moving a chess piece? -
You have good points, thats why I had been with my girl for 6 years before marrying her, and lived up in her village both in her family house, and later during covid built our own place close to the parents. Her family is ok, have no demands, but for sure they benefits from us, having work, and also future security for us being there for them, as they are there for us. Mutual exploitation you can say in a good way. Now when we are leaving, her brother will find work in the neighboor district to be closer while we are away, so it is a family who care for each other. I understand not everyone find a good family to marry, and literally you marrying a family not only the girl. I didn't plan to marry either, but the covid experience changed my mind, because of less rights as a couple, than married, and also her having dual citizenship will make things easier if simular crises happen in future.

If it is safety you looking for, Thailand is not the place 😉 Im not native english spoken either, but you make sense to me. As any other country and women of different cultures, time is your friend and safety card. Do not invest more than you willing to walk away from. Simple as that. Threat your girl with respect, if not mutually respect is present, why bother?

Why is Thailand so terrible at sport?

Thailand have no Grand masters in Chess ever. Google Magnus Carlsen, he is quite fit, and have a solid exercise regime and the side of his mental training to continue to win tournaments after leaving the throne as world champion undefeated 6 times. A ESPN article Robert Sapolsky, who studies stress in primates at Stanford University, says a chess player can burn up to 6,000 calories a day while playing in a tournament, three times what an average person consumes in a day. Based on breathing rates (which triple during competition), blood pressure (which elevates) and muscle contractions before, during and after major tournaments, Sapolsky suggests that grandmasters' stress responses to chess are on par with what elite athletes experience. https://www.espn.com/espn/story/_/id/27593253/why-grandmasters-magnus-carlsen-fabiano-caruana-lose-weight-playing-chess -

Most Thai boys or mommy's boys, never pushed to do anything they don't want to do. Army for boys is like a scout camp at the most, unless you are specialized or down at the border. -
Good luck with that kind of thinking. Family is everything for a Thai, and if your intentions is to have an healthy relationship, there is certain norms you need to follow.

What if you had the chance to do it all over again?
Hummin replied to HugoFastor's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
8 years I would do it again, same all over, since it has been nice to get to know my wife, the real her and her family where she is from where we have built a small farm. We are leaving now because we have no commitments in Thailand, no children, and her family will take care of our farm while we are gone. For how long we do not know, but the first plan is 10 years, and then we will see. Our goal is to work, give her the opportunity to have dual citizenship and her pension rights, and then make a new decision. After 8 years I started to get bored of being semi retired travelling back and forth for work schedules, and travelled Thailand 3 times around, and several smaller trips just to ease the boredom, as well as thousands of hours in gyms. Tired of this year's heat, and the general pollution, especially the burning seasons, which felt more bad this year because of the lack of rain. What finely tipped me over, was the confusing new tax regime of expats. There is no way I will pay tax to a country who does not give anything back. No legal benefits or social security. I was very clear from the beginning, after following several expats on different forums, and their stories of living in Thailand, I would not get stuck, and my daily life was going to be as much like I was back home with daily normal healthy routines, and live one decent place, and travel for weekends and holidays to have contrasts. Even paradise becomes boring after a while. That's just how it is -
