I thought the same as you until covid hit, and we where stuck. If we where married it would had been different. We stayed together in Thailand, but I would not leave until the borderd where open again and I could return. If we where married, we could had left earlier together. Well those who have high tolerance can claim they are not affected of it, because it becomes their daily normal. It all depending on where you are in life and what needs is already covered.
