  1. Many of my skydiving friends bought old school busses they rebuilt to camper homes and had two different drop zones they lived and worked at depending on season and how busy they where. A few of them retired early, sold their business and never stopped touring working part-time
  2. The problem with mobile homes, there is to many of them out in the high season, and are seen as free riders and pests. At least in countries you are allowed to "freecamping". Other countries there is designated camp grounds and not allowed to freecamping. Therefor I would had rented private land far away from any campsite for my destinations. Hijacking and robberies is a risk especially former east block countries, Spain and Italy. Not sure about France, Portugal
  3. Invalide for decades caused by lifestyle
  4. Greeks are ok, and the food is great. I prefer nomadic to, so maybe, a mobil home is the solution.
  5. Eat home or at quality restaurants! Just look at the BMI on thai population the last 20 years, and you see how helthy their food have become.
  6. Understandable with his body mass, Thailand is extremely hot.
  7. Religion, social media, make your pick! We are bored to death, so we are easy targets for stimulants whatever it is. I got rid of social media, just AN left now.
  8. Impossible to read this forum again because of ads. Chrome browser
  9. If I leave Thailand, thats it, one suitcase, Okay, for your information, sea is rising again, ice is melting, as it have before,
  10. People with options, can make changes to their lives when they feel they had enough. Simple as that. As far I know, you still live in Uk, How is that going to work when you have to pay tax to Thailand?
  11. The older I get, the less I drink. I understand it is not good for me, and give me no advantages health vise or socially. Alchohol and other drugs, must be controlled, because to many people do not know their own best. Thats the truth, like it or not
  12. Commen sense, you do not stay during the burning season, and for me, it is to cold up north to live during the coldest months. Isaan is great during the dry season, until the burning season starts, and then off to a beach destination/Island. North is best at the end of the rain season for a few months while it is still humid and green, and the hot season is best spent in Northern Europe.
  13. Why not stay one night or the weekend in KL? Great city
  14. Must be russian hackers laughing their buttends off by now after fixing the polls.
  15. We, who is we? If you live in russia or Thailand, and likevise countries, there is things you cant say, right? Where I come from, Im free to speak whatever I want, and the only risk is beeing canceled. Here on AN, you get confused emojis if you talk against the mob who cant hold two thoughts at same time. Also called narrowed minded
  16. Why? What did they promise you in return?
  17. Yes my love, right away my love, always my love, thank you my love, sure my love, never my love
  18. Pattaya living cost versus Chiang Mai https://www.numbeo.com/cost-of-living/compare_cities.jsp?country1=Thailand&country2=Thailand&city1=Pattaya&city2=Chiang+Mai
  19. But, when I get old, a nice flat with seaview and walking distance to shopping mall and restaurants, as Hospital close by. You never know when you will need assistance. Not so afraid of dying, but a stroke, where time is essential for how bad it will be, and also quality of service.
  20. I prefer to have a solid base in Isaan with low maintenance, and free to go wherever I want when I want. Not so different?
  21. Beaches and living close to the beach, gives a fresh nice Seabreeze and great views as sunrise or sunsets, which can relax and brighten your mind. Fresh seafood and great restaurants with seaview.
  22. Please elaborate, thai gangsters as army and police? No mafia without any of their support. As for the Pattaya dispensary I rest my case. “Most of my customers are tourists buying cannabis for recreational use. This change could drastically impact our business,” he said.
  23. Isn't that a good cause? No reason to move to a rural place if no lady. Family is a great value for us, and gives us alot of freedom, but I understand there is many who do not have the same feeling or experience. If I didnt meet my wife 8 years ago, I most likely not been in Thailand anymore. 15 years travelling there was enough, and I already decided this was it, and had other plans So if it was not for the ladies, who would have been living in Thailand? Same same
  24. I have met a few foreigners who invested big, and do not do as local, sleep on the farmland when there is fish or crops ready to be harvested. Or more useal, investing in a family to be self sufficent, and they never had anything from before, or never had responsibility or the drive to to something for themselves. They often fail, claim they get robbed, pests atacks, and more. One I met, told me he invested in a large full scale fishing pond, used millions, just to be left with an empty pond each time they got some decent sized fish ready to sell. Why? Because he did not understand the family was not capable to run and protect what was theirs, be it lack of respect in the community, afraid of ghosts (a serious problem for many), or maybe sold the fish, and said it was stolen.
  25. And 850k for rural land is expensive, all depending on chanote, road access, elecricity, distance to center of village and district capital.
