  1. Well, I have experienced thaid avoided me in shops, especially when not wearing a mask, and also even with a mask. And I do not take that personally. Thais are racists, so are we even we do say we are not! That was my point
  2. But most Thais I meet is judgemental against foreigners. Isaan people against Cambodians especially, and if you move around, there is always some groups rhey do not like. Do thai like Nigerians? How about this forum, russians and Indians, ever seen how they are described here? Im not free of guilt, just pointing out the obvious
  3. Where are you located? Chiang Mai? Most helmets is shaped and sized different in Thailand, so you need to try them on before buying. Panda rider will get you one, and send to you if you contact them directly if not able to go to Bangkok, or pattaya where I believe easier to find one.
  4. Well, the thing is, Im less concerned about people around me, and do not actively monitoring my response which would be a bit creepy? If you are a positive person, I guess you receive more positivity, as well do not analysis every single person around you.
  5. with a genuin smile and apperance, you will see people smile back at you. My surroundings feedback is very much based on my apperance, and not the way around.
  6. When you build something based on entertainment needs especially aimed at foreigners, and adopt to those needs, I guess you are as far from the original thainess as possible. Im not going to argue with you, but still. We have been travelling alot more where thai people have spent their holidays the last years, and it is different from all other cities where you find the majority of visitors being foreigners. We might find changes now, as more Thai people travel to typical tourist places?
  7. Real Pattaya, hua hin and Patong, used to be real fishing villages, and long gone
  8. Disney land reminds me of US, so yes you are right, Pattaya and Patong is real Thailan as much as any village
  9. its like a cake of risk, you have training, you got one piece, you drive only on small less trafficked roads, you get another piece, but you still have some pieces left you have not control of. It is up to you risk versus gain. I have done it all, jumping off things, fast riding, diving without air, driving, climbing, but the more experienced I became, the less risk I did take when it came to available information and equipment, and also started to quit short cuts. I have seen to many die because they: only, just going to do, But as said, it is your choice
  10. It is quite simple, look back on our own history of imigrants arriving in our home countries. Thais is just as us, but it is how we take it personally. Especially during covid, I had a few incidents same as you, but now? Not as I care to register, because positive interactions outweigh the negatives. well, we got a couple we hang out with occasionally, who are Isaan couple who worked themselves up in the system, and become a bit hi so with hi so customers (Restaurant chef and graphic designer), we are not their first choice to publish on social media, and I can understand it, and I know where it comes from. Maybe they just want to keep our relation purely private, and highlight their more famed customers for business sake, I do not know, but nothing I care to think to much about. Unfortunate, westerns have been doing to much <deleted> for to long time, and we are not as accepted as we would like think we are. Spain is an good example of how much locals love the tourists these days, and I understand them
  11. Well, we all have been there driving without helmets, but the older I get, I like to think Im getting smarter to and wear my helmet. Mother in law seems not to care to much, or rest of the family, even the cousin of wife, almost died of head trauma, they only weared helmets for a week or so, and back to normal. I have given them soon 10 helmets, and they willingly grab them when up for take, but do they wear them?
  12. What nationality was the one who argued for bluring out the number plate? Most people do not care,
  13. It is a red line of of leaders who wanted to make a change, make history and gain more resources and power. History is full of men who was willing to sacrifice humans for their goals. Putin have failed, but it aint over yet unfortunate.
  14. The irony of making a country great again for the wrong reasons
  15. Read their common history with Lenin, and you will understand their brotherhood feeling, and not to forget their long history with changing borders, Rus, and Mongols history. Bond of thousands of years.
  16. It will never happens in near future. Russians mentality prevents any form of democracy! Afterplay of Gladnost should be a clear proof, and Putin as their savior.
  17. When it happens it is real, not before.
  18. All we can do is speculating next scenario! Hopefully Russia collaps and being disarmed of Nukes. A long shot thow
  19. 25000 men threatening to invade Moscow? Im sure the whole worlds leaders watching, Usa and Nato members ready to step up the game and move in to Ukraine.
  20. Putin want a place in history making his country grat again! "Make Russia Great Again"
  21. What if joint pain goes away with light exercises and proper diet? I know that is the case for me, and many others, and also quite a few studies who proves that is the case for many who struggle with joint pain which can be out of many reasons. Medication in many cases do not cure anything, it just ease the symptoms, nothing else
  22. I think the first thing most should find before their place in the world and universe, is to find their space within themselves right here right now! If you cant find it there, I doubt you can find it any place elsewhere. I love The Alchymist Santiago who insatiable quest to search for his place in the world and also the ultimate search for the meaning of life and the universe ended up where he started his search, realizing all he wanted and searched for, where right there in the first place, but he was blind to it, and neaded the whole journey with experiences to finely realize the magic.
  23. I have physically been on neighbours doors for noise, and if they where sitting outside on the balcony, late nights and early morning smoking, choughing, laughing, or talking, I would have done the same. One of the few good things about cold season in Thailand, is to finely sleep without aircon and with open windows. It is just about being respectful and aknownledge we are living in the same building, and there is rules to be followed. Violence is not the solution, but most condomeniums have rules, and the best thing is to read the rules before you move in if you are easily disturbed by noise or smoke. Make sure the rules is clear from the management side in the contract. I have also made management to put on foot pads/floor protection on chairs and tables, so there is more options than just verbally and physically abuse the neighbours. Anyway, it helps to be politely convinsing, just saying and not just be the crazy neighbour. Before violence, it is better to change location, than end up in monkey house or hospital ????
  24. You know there is cold pressed oils? Extra Virgin? And also countries who have forbidden gen modified seeds?
  25. Only rapaseed, coconut and olive oil. Try to eat and cook as clean as possible.
